While attending the Access Broadway competition at the Sheraton Airport we didn’t have many eating options. So a group of us slipped into the 1911. Nothing special for atmosphere, service was slow(but the server was great) and the food was slightly above average in taste and quantity. I had a chicken wrap which came with fries. It was hot and cooked adequately. However, they put some kind of marinara-like sauce on it that made it soggy. Wet wraps usually fail when picked up and this one was no exception. Prices were reasonable for a hotel at the airport. Considering we were hungry and had extremely limited eating options, this worked. Beats being hungry anyway.

Got a burger and a couple of drinks — service was great. Food was on point but took a little while even though no one was really there. The drinks were on point and I would definitely come back to chill out and enjoy a shot or two.

Let’s be honest. Unless you’re a guest of this hotel(maybe you’re a corporate road warrior, maybe you’re an airline professional, maybe you’re a Frolicon attendee…). Unless you’re one of these things, you’re not likely to ever grab a meal at this place. I mean really, given the location of this hotel, 1900 Grill will likely never be much of a dining destination. The food is good. Even if the prices are clearly geared to an audience with corporate expense accounts(I’m talking like 100% markup over other establishments for the same meal). But as I was saying, the food is good. I had a bleu-cheese burger for lunch that was very nicely done. Medium, just the way I wanted it. Someone in the kitchen is clearly really good at what they do. All sorts of lunch and dinner meals that are prepared and presented very nicely. The breakfast buffet is sort-of average – exactly the sort of thing that you’d expect from a hotel – but if you want eggs, sausage, a biscuit or two, and maybe some bacon and potatoes, you could do worse. Plus, someone here is making home-made gravy. But this last paragraph is the most important thing I have to say about 1900 Grill: I have to give these people some serious credit for providing real attention to service. They work hard to make their guests happy. Staff took very good care of us. Professionals, every last one of them. I know a few restaurants that could take lessons from these people.
