We went to the Labor Day family camp and had the most perfect weekend! It was fun for every single member of our family — and we are talking infancy to retirement! The scenery is gorgeous, the activities are a blast, the accommodations bring family together(don’t expect the Ritz, but do expect laughter, late game nights, and fellowship), and the genuine and knowledgeable staff make you feel at home. My personal highlights include: watching the kids splash around at the new grotto(ask Ray about the camp’s goals for the grotto), sitting in the chairs along the waterfront, beach volleyball, whiffle ball tournament, ice cream social, star gazing, s’mores and skits on Saturday night, climbing Mount Wood, flying down the new water slide, and spending time with family while making new friends with other families. We had a terrific weekend and only regret that we couldn’t stay longer!

I am a former camper and counselor and could not wait for my kids to attend camp. I can now count myself as a parent– My son recently checked in for day camp this week. As a 5 year old, he always goes to camp with a buddy. This time, however, he chose to go on his own. The director greeted us at our car, allowing any initial nerves for my son to subside. My son LOVED it. He loved the lake, the beach, the basketball courts, the lunch:), he gave it a 9 out of 10 as an «almost best day ever.» Also, he went home with EVERYTHING he came with– something that has not happened at any other camp!

I was a camper and counselor at Camp Jewell. Set in the beautiful foothills of the Berkshire mountains, Camp Jewell is a top notch facility with incredible staff from around the world. Campers select from a variety of activities including horseback riding, canoeing, tennis, art, and more. The food is plentiful and tasty with many options. Camp Jewell is well run, fun and safe. I wouldn’t send my children anywhere else!

BESTPLACE on EARTH! 1. Started going to Camp Jewell back around 2004 — with my town’s YMCA Y-Guides program, 2. Two of my daughters attended summer camp @ Camp Jewell ‚ 3. My oldest Daughter is now a Camp Counselor This is a magical place, best time is on the drive home after picking up the the children after camp is over… all of the stories, camp songs & chants are priceless!

This place is great! Came here for family weekend with a friend and we had an absolute blast! The camp is great for people getting away from the city, but not too sure how to set up a tent or shower in the lake. A ton of activities were included in the price as well. I really have nothing bad to say about this place other than I can’t wait to be back next year!

Have you tried snow tubing here? Every Sunday in January and February you can spend the afternoon sliding down a well-groomed hill on one of three tracks with varying degrees of dips and moguls. Everything you need is provided: tubes, helmets(required), and camp counselors to gently enforce the safety guidelines. Often enough there’s hot chocolate waiting in the cafeteria next door when you’re done, and every once in a while, freshly-baked cookies, too.

Camp Jewell is awesome!!! My son has gone for two years and wants to return for a longer stay next year. The permanent staff are friendly, accommodating and professional. It’s a very big camp and still you feel you get such individualized treatment. And then there are the counselors, many of whom come from countries outside the US. They add a real sense of cosmopolitan edge to the place exposing kids to other points of view and experience. The activities, the resources, the support are all beyond expectation. It’s not a total outdoor-tough kind of place – maybe we’ll do that later. For our first overnight experience with an 11⁄12 year old, Camp Jewell exceeds expectations!
