American Legion

You ever see The Deer Hunter? Remember the wedding they had at the start of the movie (you know, before Christopher Walken goes insane with a gun.) That’s exactly how this place felt for a celebration.
The American Legion building is 70’s-styled old. Wood everywhere, closets that haven’t seen an update, lights that are just a little too bright for the scene. It’s an old, old space.
That’s not to say it’s not a good space. It’s big and can hold a lot of people and there’s plenty of room for both tables and a dance floor. And I was told it’s very cheap to rent out, if that’s a factor.
It’s also insanely hot though. It was freezing outside but I was burning up inside, even with the fans. I kept having to run outside till I was freezing and then run inside until I was burning. Repeat.
Overall, a decent place for a wedding. I had more fun due to the company I was with and the people getting married than the actual location.
