Sweet onion rings that are like candy. The mushroom cheese burger was awesome. The wife likes the chili burgers. Good tea and reasonable prices. Just a great place for a quick meal.

It’s a repurposed Dairy Queen with a typical Dairy Queen menu. The food isn’t bad, but is nothing to write home about. We stop every time we’re in the area for a shake or an ice cream. There’s not a lot of selection in Coldspring, so it’s in the top 3 (of around 3) restaurants in the area. :)

Absolutely terrible! Poor service and you don’t get what you’ve ordered. This has happened multiple times. Won’t recommend to anyone ever.

If you happen to be in the woodsy little town of Coldspring, go to the Hop! They get five stars for extremely friendly and attentive service, and delicious food at a good price.
It can be hard to find genuinely nice customer service these days, especially at a busy restaurant, but the nice people at the Hop delivered. Of course what is good service without good food. The cheeseburger I ordered was top notch, the fries were just right and the iced tea was perfect.

Good food, friendly service, great prices, and clean bathrooms. What more could you for! Working jukebox and 1950’s decorations made it a fun eating environment, plus they have free wifi. ;)

A friend and I were staying at Lake Livingston and this was place was recommended by several folks.
It was a decent burger, the onion rings were great. The shake was decent too.
My ONLY beef were the flies and the dead flies. They were everywhere.

Let’s all do the hop! If you find yourself in Coldspring there really isn’t anything else better to do. Greasy but rather bland. The place has free wifi though.

This is a great little burger joint. Whenever we want something a little quicker, this is our place.
Their burgers are always good, but their shakes are where it is at! All the shakes are made the old fashion way, with real fruit! I typically go with the banana shake.
I also like their patty melt and onion rings. If you are in the area and looking for a quick bite, this is your place!

I was working in the area so I decided to give this place a try. Had a cheeseburger, fries, and iced tea. The cheeseburger was OK, didn’t wow me but the ingredients seemed fresh. They didn’t melt the cheese onto the patty. The tea was good, and the fries were great. I like them crispy, and these were, without being overcooked. They also weren’t overseasoned, so I was able put just the right amount of salt on them.
This place is definitely a viable option if you are in the area.
