First time being here since the new owners, and it’s much better than before as fast as the hookah goes. My girlfriend and I own several hookahs and smoke regularly, and we’re still pretty impressed with the quality. I cannot make any comment on the food though. The hookahs all appeared to be Big Kahlil Mamoons, and they use clay bowls with ice tipped silicon hoses. They use use quick light coals and offer Starbuzz and Haze flavors as well as their own mixes. Good atmosphere, and good service.

I went for lunch on weekend. Wait staff were not present, customers seated me and provided menus. After 10 minutes someone showed up and took order. Ordered Lamb Gyros and Rice. Gyros were okay, but rice was underdone and crunchy. Waiter sat and texted in corner for a while then disappeared. Wait staff never came back and I went and stood at cash register multiple times after 10 minutes another guy showed up and I cashed out. If you are going for the hookah, I would say fine. As far as the food and staff I will not be back. I was disgusted.

We tried Paradise this past Friday just to do something new. I’ve been to many hookah bars in the past and thought it would be fun to go to one again. This place is so dark, the windows are tinted, and the chairs and tables are all black. The chairs are not comfortable at all. They have couches but we were seated at a table with chairs so I can’t tell you how the couches are. The music was great and our hookah was very pretty. They have a pretty large menu which has hookah options on one side and food on the other. We were getting food after so I can’t tell you anything about that except if you ask for a water you get a bottled water. The hookah menu was divided into three parts, regular, premium, and special. Each time you went down a section the price went up by 2 or 3 dollars. We decided on watermelon and it was pretty good. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to Paradise but I can’t say I’ll be going to any other hookah bar either.

They treat their customers like second-rate citizens. Make their guests sit at tables while employees and their friend sit on sofas. The service is miserable. I don’t know if the employees just don’t care or what. I was actually charged for a meal I didn’t even order or receive. We just ordered a hookah, and was charged out the nose for it. When we asked about it and said that we only get the hookah, the employee said, «I guess the price went up a bit.» Their loyalty card is utter nonsense. We’ve been using it for about 2 or 3 years, and have NEVER been able to receive our free hookah. When we asked about it, the employees just blow it off, «Well, you just have 3 more to go.» We went almost ever week last summer and nothing. They are rude to customers because some people may not want to smoke, and they can’t squeeze money out of them, or something. Whenever we needed something we either had to tell across the restaurant or walk over there when it was overly loud with wretched music. They don’t even give you cups for water, you have to buy a plastic water bottle – which is just horrible for the planet. They are the only hookah shop around us. And the food is pretty awesome. Like best fries in the tristate. It’s great. But the service is the worst thing ever. I don’t know if the management knows about it, or if the management is the problem, but I hope it changes. I really want to like it. But the big thing stopping me is the service and bad music after like 8. I hope things get better, but for the past few years while we’ve been going there, it hasn’t. And it’s a little upsetting. Tl;dr: great food. Terrible service. Like the worst ever.
