What’s up with all the homeless looking people hanging out front ALL THE TIME?! We’ve driven all the way to town just to go to Hastings, and have turned around just based on the individuals sitting out front. They smoke, and smell horribly! It’s too bad really, Hastings does have a great selection of music, movies, books and toys. Not worth it though when you have to fight your way to the front door to avoid the foul stench of adult men sitting around smoking and using vulger language. Especially when you have small children.

Be sure to use your Unilocal discount even though it says it expired February of last year; I was able to use the $ 5 off about a week ago with no hiccups.
Used DVDs: Typically a really good deal and the quality is intact; 1 of 6 movies, I have purchased, had some serious scratches which resulted in me having to skip an entire section of a movie. Thankfully it is a movie I know by heart so it didn’t bother me too much.
New books: About half of the store is dedicated to the avid reader. There are used books too but I don’t typically buy used books as I feel they are a scam! I have purchased two Christopher Moore books here, one is a soft cover and the other is a hard cover. My hard cover ran me about $ 27 which I felt was a decent deal compared to online prices. I am a book whore, I will never buy a kindle or what not… The feeling of the pages turning on my finger tips and the smell of a new book just does it for me.
Gifts: I have not bought any gifts here but my oh my do I enjoy looking at all the eccentric merchandise they sell! There are some true gems for sale in that store. They have about every thing comic book oriented, NFL and college ball outterware/​novelties. There are shirts with funny saying and plaques galore! You can buy vintage marilyn monroe goodies or puzzles if that is your thing.
Parking on this side of the massive disorganized parking lot is much easier than when parking elsewhere in this lot.
Hasting is a super cool store in which I enjoy wasting my time wandering about.
Don’t forget, they have an instore coffee shop and popcorn for sale.

A bit too noisy in some store areas namely video/​music. I can sometimes find good book bargains but more often I pick up nice volumes that have too steep a price they seem incongruous. I take a notepad with me and write down the neat finds then look them up on amazon, where some are an astonishing penny. I think Hastings gets this little albeit smart trick because WIFI never seems to be or is running in the store or café. I wish they’d lower some prices on the books but CDs are usually a good buy.

My daughter and I went to Hastings to find a specific Christian book and after searching for it high and low without any success, went back to the front counter to ask for help. The woman behind the counter was an older woman with glasses and had a limp. She hatefully treated my daughter as if she were stupid for not finding it on her own and pointed her to the same location. When asked if she could possibly show us where the book is, we were told that she is not walking all of the way back to the Religious section. As if coming to her senses on how she had sounded and the way she treated a customer, she emmediatly backtracked and said «I’m sorry honey, I have a bum leg». She could have asked someone else to help us at least. Isn’t that what customer service is all about? We left the store instead of looking and she will be buying the book elsewhere. Unless desperate, I would be hard pressed to go back to that store again.

Love Hastings! It’s my favorite store! Love that they have cheap used CDs and movies!

This store is awesome. They have ssooo many book ms and movies! Any that they don’t have they will order them for you no charge. A lot of times they have buy one get 1 – 2 free books and always always have cool new DVDs for $ 5 – 7 nice! Wacky toys and gifts, nice coffee shop huge kids book section I really love this store. Only thing is the lines are long.

Service has gone downhill considerably in the past 6 months. Everyone looks stressed or is annoyed to help you. The manager even threatened to call the police on my friend just because he had a camera bag on his back! Literally walked up to him and said get out of my store or I’m calling the police. We’ve shopped there for years and everyone knows us there so it was incomprehensible as to why this sudden change. Never shopping here again. I’d highly recommend Long Ear or Amazon instead.

This used to be one of my favorite stores, but over the past six years it has rapidly declined. The atmosphere seems dark, dank and it smells odd, probably due to all the used books and stained carpet. The service is hit and miss, unless you’re in the book section, then you’re guaranteed to be ignored or snapped at by the surly grey-​haired lady.
The selection is mediocre, unless you want what is trending at the moment and a lot of it. On the upside, they do have some quirky gifts and usually some odd bargain art books. Unfortunately, I find myself buying from the Internet Supergiant or driving to Spokane. Ah, Borders, I miss thee.

Love love love this store. Very dangerous for my wallet! How can you go wrong with books, games and movies in one store. New and used copies. Large section of .99 cents in books and movies!!!
I had been ti Idaho a few times and this was the first time in Hastings. I will always stop in there when I come to visit!!!

I love this store. Ive been in Idaho for 5 years and had never gone in there. I didnt really know what kind of store it was. I assumed it was like a Best Buy (from what other people have boughten there) As soon as I walked in I was in Love
