Coconut Creek Mitsubishi

Just went there last night and test drove a 2015 Subaru Outback at the Mitsubishi dealership. I had found that car online listed at $ 26,202. I’ve always used Edmunds True Market Value to educate myself on where to start negotiating. Edmunds True Market Value said $ 21,101. I know it can be higher or lower and that is just an average. So I started there. I told them I wanted to get close to $ 23k out the door, so essentially $ 21,101 + tax tag and title. So here’s how that went.
They came with the paper that had $ 26,202, tacked on the dealer fees, tax, tag and title plus $ 1,600+ negative equity on my trade. So like $ 30k all told. And I politely asked the sales associate to see what he could do to get me closer to my number. He went to the sales manager, had a pow wow and then the sales manager came out.
He said «I’d like to thank you for your offer, but if we are at this number and you are at that number, then we have nothing to talk about».
So like, they didn’t want my business. They were unwilling to negotiate one penny with me even though I told them I could come up a bit but I wanted them to work with me and see how close they could get. And the sales manager rudely said in the most condescending tone «what, are you willing to come up to $ 24k, $ 25k? Its not enough.» So literally they didn’t budge from the listed price.
And then I left.
I’m sorry but WHAT THE ACTUAL F#@k? What car dealership is 100% unwilling to negotiate a little off the listed price? And then on top of it tries to bully the customer & act like the thought of negotiating is a foreign concept in a car purchase?
Save yourself the wasted time and go to a different dealer.

Sales rep never showed up to the appointment, then tried negotiations over the phone and were not realistic with what he was offering also crossing the line.

I needed a speed sensor replaced on my Montero Sport. I had been to two other shops and got rdiculous quotes. I even got charged for diagnostics at the family owned repair shop. I came to the dealer knowing the part was a dealer item. My service manager gave me a free accurate diagnostic in 5 minutes. The part cost $ 125.00 and the price was well under what others had quoted. The service took an hour and when I got my car back nothing else was broken. I usually stay away from the dealer only because of the higher labor charge. I have never had a bad experience here.
Four years ago at 60K miles I had my timing belt, water pump, plugs, seals and valve cover gasket all replaced as maintenance. All was done professionally and accurately.
Would I come here again for anything major, yes absolutely. If you have to use an OEM part then you should have an Authorized Mitsubishi mechanic do your repair. Shop around and do your homework. The dealer is sometimes the better choice.

AVOID!
Service advisor was rude the moment we stepped out of our car. We came for a battery warranty replacement, our previous paperwork said 60 month warranty and he refused to honor that. When we asked why, he said its prorated. Again, we asked WHY, when we clearly have a 60 month warranty written right in front of us. His reason of «I dunno, it just is» was not acceptable.
We asked for the service manager since clearly we couldn’t get an answer, the advisor left and came back a couple minutes later to just repeat the same thing. We asked again for the manager, stating well I guess he must be too busy then? The answer was yea I guess so.
$$$ later we get our car back, and there is now a service light on! Not on when we arrived. We asked why? The response of «well I guess you need service now»… No buddy you didn’t reset the computer. He couldn’t even get off his ass to check!
Over to the service managers office we went, he actually HELPED and took the car to the back and reset the computer! Overall, go somewhere else. Waste of an afternoon. Ufredo was a lazy excuse for a service advisor.
