Sometimes you come across a place at just the right time. It’s like karma. One minute you are driving down the street trying to get all members of your party to agree on a place to stop for dinner, then you stop at a traffic light and four pairs of eyes look right to see a store front with foot tall green /yellow /red letters painted on the windows. Left of the door it said«BURRITOS», right of the door it said«TACOS» and«SALADS» and a Bud Light neon pub sign in the upper part of the window indicated they sold beer. Perfect, especially since there was also a parking space available over the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. The first impressions as we entered the restaurant were good. The brightly painted walls, counters, tables and chairs suggested this was a fun and friendly place and the smiling servers behind the counter reinforced this impression. Only a couple of tables were occupied, all the tables were bussed and clean and the floor was clean. Second impressions were not quite so good. The serving tables were splashed with guacamole, chopped tomatoes and peppers that had dripped from the spoon as they were being added to burritos. Although it was on the menu on the wall behind the servers, we were told brown rice was not available this evening and they had run out of bowls so were serving the three«bowl» options in take-out food containers. Most egregiously, two of the four draft beers were also not available. Is this just bad planning on their part or a symptom of deeper problems? Fortunately eating the burrito bowl from the take-out container didn’t affect it’s taste which was very good and the pork crispy tacos were excellent, though I take umbrage at having to drink Bud Light when I was expecting to drink Dogfish Head. Dinner for four including a tip was less than $ 50. Good value for money.

When the evening hungries hit on our vacation, we headed here to get some tacos. Definitely some adequate food for the price, but I think Austin-ites are SO spoiled when it comes to tacos that it’s just hard for almost anywhere else in the world to measure up. For ~7 bucks you get 3 tacos(a little more or less depending on the meat). You have a choice of fried corn or flour. You can pick rice, beans, meat, and you get 5 toppings for free out of their topping bar. I figured the rice and beans would go on the side but they went right into my taco. It worked out in the end. I got ground beef, which was good, and chicken, which was ok. I tried their house sauce, which was awesome(a slightly fancier version of taco bell sauce, it tasted like). My picky complaints are that typically I like soft corn tortilla tacos, and they didn’t have that. Also… the place is called ROCKTHEGUAC. Why is guac extra? It’s in your name, man! Anyway, these hit the spot and I would certainly return for some more taco-y goodness!

Good food and pretty good pricing. The atmosphere is relaxed, but the menu has a great selection. The only thing i would recommend modifying is not saying you guys are like subway just because you can select your own toppings, don’t degrade yourself by comparing to them. Anyways, I ordered the walking taco, a special, and it was good. The queso with jalapeños is really good, and they get fresh guac daily. I paid the extra dollar to have guac on my ‘taco’ and wow was it worth it! It was tasty and the guy gave me a generous amount! So much so, that my husband asked if I wanted some taco with my guac. Anyways, I would come back. But these guys are not at all like subway, so much better.

Stopped in for lunch. Place was good. Nice assortment of topping and options to personalize your order. My boyfriend and I both got burrito bowls completely different from each other. If I could say one thing it would be to have a papa guac special sauce. That sauce is a must have. I was straight up eating it off the chips by the end. Decorations we cute too. Nice day of the dead theme hey had going on. I’d recommend this place.

This place wasn’t too bad. I was with a group of people and we were all hungry. We were kinda thinking chipotle but wanted something a little more homey, so we picked this place. Ordering is almost the same as chipotle so its easy and familiar even if its your first time there. After making our burrito or bowl, we found that the prices was more expensive than we thought. We didn’t mind though because its the kinda place we were looking for. The taste of the food however was not there. Pretty bland for a burrito. I had to put some salt and pepper on it which made it better, but still not that great. One pro is that they have lots of sauces to choose from including there own homemade sauce, which is cool. But sauces done make a burrito. The place looked pretty clean and was pretty festive. The walls are painted which gives the place a cool vibe. The restaurant however did smell a little weird. Not a very pleasant smell, kinda like dirty mopping water a little bit. Everything did feel clean though and the reading arrangement was nice. All in all we didn’t have that great of an experience. Paid more for food we weren’t happy with, but at least we spent some time together.

This place is very similar to a Chipotle feel. You choose your ingredients similar to their lineup. They do have some different options for example olives(I know random but most places don’t have olives as an option) which was very exciting. Anyways, I got the chicken burrito bowl. They limit the ingredients to 5 choices, then it cost extra. The person that made the burrito was laid back and friendly. I got my bowl to the table and was pretty excited. I mixed everything up and took my first bite, unfortunately it was disappointing. There was no flavor! It was pretty bland. The rice is usually one of my favorite parts but it had no flavor! Thank goodness there was salt on the table. Mixed in the salt and it made a world of a difference! The bowl was a lot more enjoyable. All I could think was thank goodness I got the bowl so I could easily add the salt. If I had a burrito it would have been difficult. On a side note the parking lot for this place is really weird. I felt like I was worried about someone hitting my car the whole time I was in the restaurant. Overall I don’t think I would go back again.

I visited with my mother and sister, upon entering the store, everything was bright and clean and we were immediately greeted by a smiling face who explained the menu to us and stated it was similar to a subway for burritos and tacos, she told us her favorite menu item which was a nacho bowl which I personally tried and loved, the portions were HUGE and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Good food, and even better customer service, thanks for the recommendations and for the awesome dinner!

I had a burrito bowl today at rock the Guac and it was awesome. Big portions, lots of toppings to pick from to make it the way I like it. Really enjoyed the hot bar — the peach hot sauce was delish! Employees were friendly and the place was super clean. Really liked the new floors

Sorry to say, we had a really bad meal. The guacamole had no taste. Ordered chicken tacos & the young man proceeded to put in rice & beans which filled the taco then chicken &3 other toppings it was just to full one bite and it crumbled into the bowl & again no taste. Cilantro was obviously old it had absolutely no flavor. Chips were ok, salsa bland. Prices on the high side. Would not recommend.

This place is such a disapointment. My boyfriend and i both got a chicken burrito. I had white rice, black beans, cilantro, onions, and pico de gayo. Nothing had any flavor at all. The rice wasnt cooked all the way. I put a bunch of chipotle hot sauce on it hoping it would help add flavor. It still didnt taste like anything. The chicken was super dry and hard. Will not be back. Locals do not go here. This is just a tourist attraction.

I went here to eat today with a friend of mine. I have been here in the past bit she had not. I ordered the 3 tacos and she had the nacho bowl. Portions were very big as I could not finish my 3 rd taco. She took home half of her bowl as well. The food was ok. Definitely not the greatest Mexican around but ok for a quick bite. My only complaint is I don’t understand the logic behind charging extra for guacamole when the name of your restaurant is «rock the guac». In my eyes having that name implies guacamole would come with every meal without an additional cost. Maybe it’s just me, but I’d raise the prices by a dollar(which is what the charge if you want guac on your tacos) and allow people that like guac to get some without an extra cost.

The food is some of the best that I’ve ever eaten. However, the building is lacking necessary elements that are vital to a restaurant such as wood paneling and hard wood floors. The bathroom has a bunch of cool illustrations of the local cocoa beach aborigines so I feel that it makes up for the lack of wood flooring.

Its cheap, its fast but it doesnt compete with other«bar style» mexican restaurants quality ingredients. Steak was cheap quality and not tasty, chicken was bland. Love the selection of bottle salsas. Staff was super friendly. The included price for guacamole is guacamole purée? Hmmm kinda turned off. Im not into tex-mex cuisine so that may be why i didnt really like this place. Will not come back.

I really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is awesome, staff is nice, prices are on par with Chipotle(If you don’t add too many toppings). but… The food is just lacking. I felt like most of the ingredients were prepackaged. I had a chicken burrito. The chicken looked and tasted like the frozen grilled chicken strips you get at Walmart. The Guac was not freshly made, which is a shame since Guac is in the name of the restaurant. We also ordered chips and salsa; both of which tasted like prepackaged tostitos brand straight out of the grocery store. Topping for my chicken burrito were limited to 5 items. Adding more than that increases the price for your burrito. My wife got a veggie burrito and her topping were unlimited. In conclusion, I might go there again because it is not terrible but I really expected more. They had better hope Chipotle doesn’t open up shop nearby. | My suggestion to them would be to start making your own food. Get fresh meat, spice it up, marinade it, and toss it on the grill. Get some fresh ingredients such as avocados and tomatoes and make your own salsa and guac.

Wow! This place does rock! I stumbled upon it after being chased off the nearby beach by lifeguards because of a tornado warning! So I was walking along and was captivated by the colorful store with the neon window signs. I got to thinking a burrito would be just the thing to see me through the Arctic Chill coming. My mistake and the reason for a 1 UnilocalSTAR deduction: Rock the Guac is pricey but well worth it. It does seem like a Chipolte where you pick your own ingredients to make your burrito but by the time I was done loading, I was up to over $ 8! For a burrito! Yikes! Still, it was delicious. I came back the next day to pay the dude behind the counter a tip I could not afford the other night & then ordered a simple basket of fresh tortilla chips and guacamole! OMG, so delicious! The guac was supreme – chunky but flavorful. It was awesome. Rock the Guac does do delivery in the area, BTW. Maybe some people might think Rock the Guac is touristy and when I was there it did seem, along with myself, that a lot of the customers were Florida visitors. But so what. The food is good, The vibe is fun and the concept is unique. For sure, go get your Guac Rocked here!

This place only recently opened, but it gets better every time I visit! I’ve only had the burrito bowl so far(in about 5 visits!), so that’s all I can speak to — but you get a HUGE portion for your price. This place actually has more ingredients than a lot of other places(such as Chipotle) and they always test fresh and delicious. Lots of salsas to choose from and several different cheeses even. I would recommend going for their specialty guacamole, even if it’s at a slight up charge. Their spicy cheese guac is always fresh and flavorful. I love that they have freshly chopped up jalapeños here too. That’s a nice touch as too many places offer the pickled or just not as spicy versions of jalapeños. I’ve tried their steak, chicken, and pork for the burrito bowls. My opinion is the chicken is the best. As for the atmosphere, it’s freshly painted and nice and clean all around. Employees are always friendly and talkative here, which makes you feel nice and welcome. They usually have some 90’s rock playing(«rock» the guac!), which is usually just loud enough to create some good background noise. My only compliant about this place would be parking! I know they can’t do much about that situation, but it’s somewhat of a hard location to get to. Luckily, I live close enough I can just walk most of the time. I would love to see this place adopt some late night hours on the weekends. I think they could do some killer business if they stayed open until 3am on Saturday nights around here(bars close at 2am and no good food options). I’ve wanted a good, quality, burrito place in the Cocoa Beach area for awhile and I’m happy to see that I think I found it!

We decided to stop in since we hadn’t tried it yet. The place was crowded so we figured this was a good sign. Turns out the place was crowded because everyone was waiting on chicken to finish cooking. We waited and order a chicken burrito bowl. It was teribble. Worst of all, the chicken was clearly microwaved.

Usually when we get a hankering for a burrito, we would load up in the car and drive down to Da Kine’s Insane Burrito. It was a hassle, but worth the drive. Ignore the ‘torpedo’ reviews, they are based on something other than reality. When we heard Rock the Guac was opening up at the intersection of A1A and 520(next to Ron Jon) we were hoping we’d have a good burrito joint nearby. We usually wait a couple months before we try out a new joint so they get into their groove, but some friends ate at Rock the Guac and told us it was great. So today at lunchtime we decided to give it a shot. Absolute home run all the way around. The service was fast and friendly, the food was great, the atmosphere was fun, the iced tea was perfect and the bathrooms clean. I never thought it would be possible, but my burrito was actually better than the ones I get a Da Kine… and I have nothing but good things to say about insane burritos. Quick note, these are ‘wrap style’ California burritos, not the melted cheese ones you get at a traditional Mexican restaurant. The serve style is like Chipotle, you pick your vehicle, meats, cheeses, sauces… etc. But I think the choices are better and the flavor is MUCH fresher. My wife had the burrito bowl and loved it. It’s great to have a fast food option that doesn’t involve a greasy burger or a flavorless pizza. Nothing is more satisfying than a burrito filled with healthy food and fantastic fresh home-made salsas. This is certainly on our list of favorite local spots, and its only a few minutes away from us. You can park in the rear, or over by Ron Jons. — — — — — — – Update: I flagged the obvious fake reviews(One of the reviews, with 1 review, giving one star as an example), but even as a Unilocal Elite Reviewer this ‘yelper’ counts as much as my review. That’s not right. And then one that obviously had her friends(all with less than 10 Unilocal, the one I noted included) give bad reviews. It’s a shame, because the food here is good. I eat here once a month.
