I made the switch several years ago from a monster mega bank to this regional bank. Originally, I was looking for a bank open on Saturdays near my house, since it is difficult for me to do banking on weekdays. This branch used to be open on Saturdays, but now it is open only Monday to Friday. However, that did not turn out to be a big problem. This is a real friendly bank, and some of the tellers will greet you by name before you even come up to the counter. I’m not sure how they remember my name since I don’t come in too often, but I think it’s nice to be personally greeted. There is never any line, and you can get your business done quickly. They have a scattering of branches in the Atlanta area, so you need to plan your ATM visits if you want to avoid fees from using other banks’ ATM’s. The one problem I see is that you can’t do deposits through their ATM’s. That’s really the only reason I need to go in for services, is to do a deposit. I never have any problem with fees getting tacked on to my account. I’ve had a free checking account for years there with no fees, except when I need something unusual like a cashier’s check(which is only one dollar) or a wire transfer. If you live in the vicinity of a First Citizens Bank, I recommend trying them. It was worth it to switch all my electronic payments and direct deposits from the monster mega bank to this bank. Note: This was formerly an Ironstone Bank. Ironstone was bought by First Citizens a few years ago. The name change is pending with Unilocal
