Always scary to do business with an unknown entity but Vega’s is now my go to auto shop. Every mechanic smiles and says hello. The young man at the front desk was quick and courteous. Called and gave options based on needs and cost. Love Vega’s. My truck runs smoothly again.

Jose did such a great job. He was very helpful and thorough.

Thank you so much Vega and your crue. For the first time in 3 months, i have been able to drive my car to LA.
I heard a heating problem with my car and the money i spent trying to find the problem with it was riduculous, until i read the reviews on Unilocal.When i went in, the manager himself fortunately had the same problem with his honda so he was laughing. He promised they would fix it and sure enough they did. He even gave me a test drive to make sure it didn’t have the problem no more.
The employees were friendly and i was even offered a ride to my house so i didn’t have to wait that long while my car was getting fixed.
So please, when you are looking for that trusthworthy mechanic while you are stuck in cowcity coalinga), checkout Vega’s automotive.
I have to say am happy to be down here in LA and knowing that my car won’t bug me no more. Thanks Vega.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
I saw on the dash as I drove Northbound on the 5 freeway going back to the bay from L.A. I stopped and check/​refill all things possible. Yet the problem persists. After stopping at another gas station and my car now made noises would not accelerate past second. I get referred by an attendant to the next exit off the freeway to go to COALINGA to a place called VEGA’S where they could fix it. So with hazards on a car full of awful people — COALINGA HERE I COME. Of course you drive by a prison on the way there. Finally we find the place and fortunately this was all due to FAULTY SPARK PLUGS. The mechanic was friendly enough to loan me his bike to ride to kragen’s to grab the spark plugs I needed to bring back to him. I remember thinking how I would have never thought to be in this situation just an hour before quietly driving back home. I see that this place has also helped out another driver stranded in distress. So good for you VEGA!

Stranded in Coalinga!
I wanted to drive my Toyota Tacoma down from SF to LA. I only made it a few hours down the 5 when my car started overheating and then eventually stopped dead on the side of the road. I called a tow truck and the driver told me we could go 20 minutes West or East to the closest auto repair shop. I chose Vega’s Automotive Service based on the one review on Unilocal (it was better than the 0 reviews the other place got).
ANGELS.
I called Vega’s and they said they would stay open until I got there. When I did get there, they told me exactly what was wrong with my car and I don’t think I could have found more reasonable labor/​parts prices anywhere else. My dad agreed.
They worked on it the next day, even though they had not planned on opening (it was a holiday) because they knew I was stranded in Coalinga where the closest train station is an hour away and there are no rental car agencies in town or even in the next town.
They offered to drive me to that train station and/​or to the rental car agency, both over an hour drive from Coalinga. Neither worked out as it was getting too late. They recommended a safe hotel for me to stay at and drove me to it.
My car was done by the next afternoon.
While I was looking around their shop, I noticed Christmas cards up from years past. One was a family thanking them for basically extending the same generosity to them that they were extending to me.
You may never end up in Coalinga for auto repair. But, if you end up anywhere near it, stranded, and with an option to head their way, go to Vega’s. Not just because it’s good service but because they are good people.

My husband had to get a smog check for the first time this year. He drove up at 10 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Twenty minutes later, he was pulling out of the parking lot. They scanned his registration, conducted the analysis, and told him that all of the information had been electronically sent to the DMV. Much easier than either of us thought.
