I’m never staying anywhere else when I come to visit my husband. Everything here is beautiful. So happy I found this place

This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast. I was headed to San Diego but was getting too tired to make the drive all the way down. I Unilocaled nearby hotels and this place came up. I called her and she took me and my puppy. It was so cute staying in a place that felt like you were visiting a friend versus staying in a hotel. I was able to come in and get some good, comfortable rest. I woke up in the morning had a nice hot shower and a home cooked breakfast. The owner was friendly, in a real way, like you were an old friend staying the night. I’d definitely stay here again. The décor is dated but in a way that makes you feel like you’re at your great aunt’s house or grandmother’s house. It has that smell to it too — in a good way that feels like a safe home. The place is set between and elementary school, high school, and residential homes giving it even more of the home like environment.

Who would have thought that such a great place would be found along the 5 in Coalinga? certainly not I. but when we decided to go to LA for Thanksgiving I knew that I didn’t want to drive the whole way on Sunday. this was a great location for breaking up the drive. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival by the owner Toni. The accommodations were neat and tidy. and in the morning we had a lovely breakfast.

OMG! If you actually stop here along your travels, you owe it to yourself and family to stay here! Read some reviews about this place BEFORE we arrived and everything said is true — nice Lady runs the place and is there when you need her, but generally leaves the house to you the guest. When we stayed it was a weeknight and we had the whole place to ourselves. There are 4 or 5 rooms total, so it would never be crowded anyways even when full(note –you do have to share one bathroom as per usual in a B&B, but I can’t imagine it would be a problem except maybe in the morning if the place were full). Everything is super fresh — the sheets, the towels, the shampoos and lotions, etc., you can set the temperature to whatever you want, and there is a TV with DVDs to watch in the common area, along with free Wi-Fi throughout the house! In the morning the Lady had made us a 7 course breakfast — fresh frikkin food mind you, not like that garbage they feed you at the Quintas and Hampton Inns — with OJ, milk and tea! Can’t emphasis enough, if you get a chance, stay here. It’s too bad these kind of places aren’t everywhere, especially at the cheap-arse price that we paid for two of us in our own room with the breakfast included, about US $ 85 at the time of this writing.

This place is amazing. We broke down along the 5 and had to stay in Coalinga for the night while our car got repaired. Unilocal found us this place and I can attest to the 5 star worthiness. Our room was warm and comfy. A full bathroom with extra soaps and shampoos. AND a wonderful breakfast to wake up to. What more could we have asked for?! Toni(the owner) took care of us and was happy to tell us her stories while we ate breakfast. She also has a certificate up front from BBB(Better Business Bureau). All in all this place saved us. It served to remind me that there are still acts and transactions of kindness that are based on trust and not on «accept“ing a 12pg terms and user agreement.

We wanted a place to stay halfway from home and San Diego. This was the only B & B in town. When I called and made reservations, Toni wouldn’t take my credit card number over the phone because she felt that was too impersonal. We stayed there one night and liked it so much, we made a return reservation for the way back. It’s a lovely older home with antique touches. The rooms are all adorable; we had our choice of any one. The B & B is exceptionally clean; even the sheets are ironed. The breakfast was delicious and our hostess Sarah, Toni’s niece, was sweet, warm and friendly. Before we left, she gave us some chocolate fudge that she had just made. The price of the room is very reasonable and we will definitely stay here whenever we are driving to S.D.

For example you are rolling down Highway 5, halfway to To The Happiest Place On Earth and you need some rest BUTWHERE!!! If I had not found this on the web and then called the owner, Toni, I never would have gone off the beaten path 12 miles to the town of Coalinga where the Baker Bed & Breakfast is located, nestled in between the 3 schools is this throwback to the past of hospitality and graciousness. Built in 1910, the rooms are beautifully appointed and you have all the modern conveniences. It’s Toni that makes this a repeat destination-she is unbelieveably kind and generous to a fault. Her breakfasts would fill a lumberjack and she even cooked us dinner the night we rolled in! My 4 and 2 year old grandchildren played croquet in the spacious front and side yards, swang on the porch swing, and ran all around the grounds in their bare feet giggling all the way-Toni even provided the mayonaise to peel off the tar from the pine tree they picked up on their toes! We slept like royalty! We all felt like we had stopped by Grandma’s for the night and the home cooking!

Surprised no one’s reviewed this place! Stayed here for a night on my way through for a road trip. Didn’t want to drive overnight from SF to SoCal. Clean, rustic, very friendly proprietors. This B&B feels like being in a home away from home. There’s 5 rooms. If you want some peace, it’s here. The alternative: staying in roach, literally roach motel somewhere else on I-5. This place is either the same price or cheaper than what you’d get on the interstate

This is my 2nd time staying at this historical, victorian B & B. The first time I stayed 3 nights and this time 4 nights, along with a colleague. We both love this place! The grandmotherly lady who owns this B & B is very lovely, kind, and warm. She treated us like family and gave us the option of having dinner instead of breakfast if we preferred. We chose to have dinner, so she cooked dinner for us during both times we stayed here without charging us extra. For breakfast, we were welcomed to help ourselves to what she had. I enjoyed the dinners as she is an excellent cook. Being able to help myself to breakfast made my stay feel all the more that I was at home. She also opens up the entire house to her guests. Besides free wireless internet access, there is a piano that I personally enjoyed playing on. The current rate during the time of my stay was $ 65 on the weekdays and $ 75 on weekends. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in the Coalinga area or if you need to stop by overnight on your drive on I-5 either up or down the CA state.
