Cool place, staff are nice and pleasant. They offer a monthly membership which is good. The only drawback is they only have two theaters so your options are limited. But it’s really cool theatre for you and the kids, also very clean place. Popcorn was fresh and they still have the old school way of putting it on your order. Coaling a should come out and continue to support this theatre…

Theater just began using Movie Hero program which offers a month long membership for a single cost, allowing members unlimited movies both in Coalinga and Avenal. Both theaters offer great sound, clean facilities, usually first run movies, and on site parking(Coalinga only). Huge efforts are being made to accommodate the needs of all clientele and I have had nothing but excellent experiences with them as they continue to grow and use new technology to speed things along. Customers merely swipe their card over a «button» on the counter to link their name to data already on board at the theater. Snacks and beverages are added onto the«tab» easily and quickly.

Went to go watch The Hobbit during the 4:00 matinée today, 12÷15÷12. The movie itself was great but was disappointed by the lack of good focus. I expected a bit of soft focus, but this was more, or rather worse than that. I thought it might’ve been my eye sight but I asked around and everyone agreed the focus was off. I want to add that this rating focuses on just today’s experience.

I went here for the first time yesterday to visit my brother-in-law who is confined to a wheel chair, so he had to meet me there since I drove and being 7mo preggers I can lift him. I arrived before he did and was going to go inside to cool off as it was 99 degrees. I was shocked to find out they lock the door until a few minutes before the next show time. I knocked on the door to ask the guy if I could at least buy a cup of ice water so that I could keep cool and he wouldnt even come to the door. I had to go next door to the bar and get some water there. If you ever want to get strange looks, walk into a bar 7 mo. pregnant. Once we were allowed to go in, the movie ran smoothly and it was a good experience.

Five stars for $ 5 movies! :) yay!!! Five stars for a kid’s combo of a small popcorn and a drink for $ 5! :) totally beats LA prices of $ 12 per movie, $ 6 for a small popcorn. Can’t go wrong here. Love how they change the films every week… wish they had more options though. Sometimes, though, the movie is shaky… something wrong with their movie roller, i think. Even better… no need to worry about traffic, too many people, or parking. All pluses in my( Unilocal) review :)

Coalinga isn’t known for having lots of entertainment options. If one wanted to go to a movie theater, one used to have to travel a great distance to Hanford, Fresno, or Lemoore. When I worked in Coalinga, I was really happy that the modernized local movie theater opened again. Although it only had 2 theaters, the seats were comfortable and the concessions and entrance fees were fairly cheap. It was a welcome change from visiting the local Red Box machine!
