Sheets were nasty, floors were mismatched and there was no phone in the room just in case. When i tried tok check out there wasnt anyone in the office. So we called to make sure they received the key from the drop box, the woman said,” yes, but you have to check out tuesday morning.” I reminded her again that plans had changed and I was checking out today not tuesday and I wanted to make sure everything was settled. At that point she said,” yes I have key and everything is settled.” I’ve stayed in many places all over but this place was just creepy. Sorry but we won’t stay there again.

In shock when we checked in. Dirty carpet, stains on walks, old crappy furniture. Not clean and didn’t feel safe. After being there 5 minutes quickly got a refund.

Driving back to San Francisco from San Diego, I was tired so checked in around 7:00 p.m. This has to be the worst motel I have stayed in. Room was FREEZING and took two hours to get comfortable. Wi-Fi was totally spotty and I kept losing the signal. Water faucets hot and cold were opposite of what they indicated. TV reception not that great. Flyer in the room with Wi-Fi log-in was incorrect. It was $ 50 but that was the only good thing about it! UGH!!!

We had an overall good experience with Laura Lodge. On the positive side, it is conveniently located to where we were looking to stay; inexpensive($ 50/night); had a microwave and large mini-fridge with separate(working) freezer section; free wifi; staff were courteous and helpful; and the room was clean(we thoroughly inspect every room we stay in and saw no sign of bed bugs, etc.). The only slightly negative aspects were that last guest had left something in the microwave(thankfully, not smelly, something fast food in a wrapper) and I had called to make a reservation and the gentleman answering just took down my name. I should have called back before we arrived, and as it turned out, the man apparently hadn’t passed on my information. They did still have rooms, so it worked out but I’d recommend formally booking through a site.

I have to admit, I was a little skeptical when I first rolled up to the the motel. I usually stay at the Motel 6 when I am in the area, however I wanted to stay closer in town this time. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice. There was free WiFi(which the Motel 6 does not offer). the room was clean(and trust me, I inspect the mattresses, closets, behind furniture, etc.). The closet was really big, and overall I was pretty satisfied with not only the room, but the price as well. This is not a high price fancy hotel. But I don’t need that. It was comfortable, clean and affordable. All of which was exactly what I was needing. I will stay there again, the next time I am in town.
