Here for Father’s Day lunch with friends. I’ve been to the Toledo’s off Blackston and Minarets but this one in Clovis a lot bigger and cleaner. Smells better here too. Enjoyed the food and service. Food portions are large and generous. Food quality is also a big plus here. Because it’s Sunday, they have a Mariachi band playing. Bathrooms are clean and well stocked.

My husband and I came here for a date. We were promptly seated when we walked in and given a big bowl of chips and salsa. We decided to try their two for $ 25 deal without even opening the menu and we were not disappointed. The salad was fresh and crunchy, the appetizer was huge, and the«small» combos were anything but small. We are our fill and boxed up the rest. It was good. Beans and rice ample on the plate and kept us coming back for more. Go to this place! Great décor and delicious food with reasonable prices.

Oh dear… My update is based upon several take-out dining experiences over the last few months, with each experience tending more negative. What has changed? Two main things:(1) Food taste and(2) Accuracy of orders. First… while Toledos has always erred on the side of too salty, it seems like this place has decided it wasn’t salty enough. In the last four take-out orders, the beans, soup, enchiladas, and other items were all salty to the point that even adding extra salsa did not cut it. Strangely, the one food item that I prefer extra salty(any kind of meat), seems to be lacking in seasoning. We ordered take-out last night, and I ordered the Carne Asada a la Tampiquena. Maybe it was just because everything else including rice was overly salty, but I couldn’t taste any type of seasoning on the steak at all. Second: Accuracy of orders. I am a big fan of getting what I order and pay for. It really makes me upset when a food order – especially one to-go– is inaccurate. We’ve been having trouble with items either missing or wrong in our order. Because of this, when I pick up the order, I always check for accuracy(which doesn’t always go over well) before I leave the establishment. However, my husband picked up for us last night. One of the items we ordered last night was the Botana Fiesta, which is a sampler of bean and cheese nachos, mini flautas and quesadillas. The flautas and quesadillas are perfect for our toddler. When my husband arrived home with the order, we discovered that Toledo’s had given us an entire box filled with bean nachos. No quesadillas and no flautas for my little one. I’ve really enjoyed Toledo’s in the past and am frustrated with the lack of quality in food and service over the last few months. With so many Mexican food places to pick from and based upon several unhappy experiences in a row, I’m seriously considering shopping around to find a new favorite place that has better accuracy and more healthy and properly seasoned food options. Sad.

Chips, rice, and refried beans all cooked with lard! I had a chicken and shrimp fajita, I got three dry shrimps among dry chicken mountain. Their lemonade is colored water basically. I do not recommend them. I expected better Mexican good here!

My husband wanted Mexican food so I decided it would be a perfect opportunity to try Tolido’s of Clovis. My husband is on a walker; nevertheless, we were greeted pleasantly and ushered to a table that accommodated him. The service was prompt and courteous. My husband had the sopes and they were so light and flavorful that I had to take one. I had the chicken enchilada plate and was not disappointed. We will definitely go back again.

As always great food. Yummy enchiladas, chicken tostada and the refried beans always have such a rich flavor and great texture. I love the fresh homemade tortilla chips

came here with my wife & my mom, food was good but the service was horrendous! first off the food took forever to get to our table then when I asked my server for extra napkins they only brung back 2… its 3 of us at the table, took forever to refill our waters even after asking several times to do so here is the worst part, after asking for a extra set of silverware because the table only had 2 sets and it was 3 of us they brung the extra silverware to our table & after wiping my mouth with the napkin that came with the silverware a few times i sat it on the table then when i grabbed it again to wipe my mouth I noticed it had some writing on it in pen wtf! looked like someone had jotted down reservation info or something then wrapped the silverware back in the napkin smh I got up and went to the front & asked to speak with a manager told him the situation he quickly apologized and said he remembered seeing that napkin by the phone but dont know who wrote on it & put the silverware back in it, he took the napkin claiming he was going to save it to show it to our server but after I asked for the check so I can pay & leave he came to our table again apologizing again & offered us free desert I quickly denied saying no thank you and can I please see the napkin again so I can take a picture of it he said he threw it away… of course you did smh I will never eat at this place again even if someone dropped a nuclear bomb in Fresno & somehow I survived & the only place left on planet earth that had food was Toledo’s guess what? I’ll be a dead(insert curse word here)

The service was great. The chips and salsa best I’ve had In a while. They have an option of two different salsas. One spicy and one mild. Both excellent. The bar is a cool little place to hang at if you want a quick Mexican meal fix. My meal wasn’t to die for but it was good. The shredded beef enchilada was my favorite part of the meal. Tasty and tender. It’s worth a shot to check out! Oh and great lunch deals! I’d say it’s more of a place to grab a quick lunch more than din din.

Okay so I ordered the camarones rancheros, let me tell you it was awful! Veggies were hard and shrimp tasted raw oh and service was not good! They forgot my girls Piña colada and never got it. I’m not supposed to remind you, and asked twice for refills smh. I’m Mexican and this place did not taste Mexican to me Word of advice to other races/nationality’s that want real Mexican food, go to Tacos Tijuana or Costa Azul

Service is great, food is over priced if not during lunch hours. The portion is not good, you get little food for the price you pay. Taste is mediocre at best, I’ve had better Mexican food.

When the hubby asks me what I want for dinner, the reply typically has to do with authentic Mexican Food… When the response is that we always eat Mexican food, I remind him Taco Bell does not count. That being said, he pulled up to Toledo’s after one such conversation. I wanted chicken tacos so I ordered a two combo plate. They brought out chips and very little salsa. They were great about keeping our tea filled. The salad was not anything more than the kind you can buy in a bag with a few tortilla strips on top… No tomatoes, nothing else… Just tortilla strips and dressing. I found it odd that as we were eating the gal asked us for our salt and pepper shaker to refill it… They were pretty much full(maybe down ¼ inch on the salt?)…but my thought was, «really, right now as I am drinking my tea and eating my chips? You want me to pass you the slat and pepper shakers so you can fill them…» The tacos I had were amazing!!! There was a green chili in it… Yum!!! The beans and rice were pretty good too! Usually it’s the same at most restaurants, but these were far better than most!!! And the cherry on top… Fried ice cream!!! The food was a bit pricey when it all gets added up. My hubby had ordered the chefs choice, and we shared the dessert. The value may have been perfect with quieter music and better salad.

My go to mexican food place in clovis. Try the Marco chipotle burrito or the shrimp Diabla. I don’t see why anyone would rate this place low

The mediocre reviews is perfectly inaccurate for this Fresno Mexican chain restaurant, in all honesty this location of Toledo’s has a nice, clean and neat interior, tasty Mexican food with quality, affordable price and perfectly attentive and friendly customer service. Overall this place is above average for a Mexican restaurant in Fresno. Having said that, I am not saying this is the best tasting Mexican food ever and going to taste better than your Mexican friend mum’s cooking, but the food here is really good and would satisfy your Mexican food cravings. They offer breakfast everyday from 8 am, while Kitchen open’s late on Saturday and Sundays(until 1.30 am), which makes it a perfect place to grab a bite if your hungry at night. They also have happy hour from 4pm to 7Pm with really good beers and cocktail drinks. I of course prefer their Virgin Margarita $ 3.75, because it has a fresh lime taste and its very refreshing. As you sit down, generous portion of fresh made tortilla chips and a serving of fresh salsa is presented, and its a really delicious starter to your meal. The salsa has a nice fresh taste, with a slight taste of heat from chilis, while their chips is tasty and crunchy. I ordered their Chicken Fajitas $ 11.99, and it was utterly delicious and I would highly recommend it. The portions I must add was very generous for the price. The chicken was perfectly cooked, very moist, while the bell peppers and onions on the griddle was grilled to perfection and cooked well(no raw bits), it gave the dish an overall nice flavor, and it was not burnt. The rice was very flavorful, and was seasoned with utmost care, while the guacamole was fresh and perfectly creamy. Lastly the refried beans had the home made taste, and was very nice and smooth. The corn tortillas was also made in-house, which is impressive. Everything tasted fresh and made by the restaurant. The Flanecito’s, which is a mini flan, was good, but not my favorite, because it had a strong cinnamon flavor, I wish it had a lighter less spicy taste. But the texture was nice, while sweet it wasn’t overpowering. I would however prefer a lighter and creamier flan. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly, my server axel checked on me through out the time and made sure everything was perfect. He was very professional and courteous too. He was also very suggestive, and made recommendation on what to order. The interior was lovely and well decorated for a Mexican Restaurants, not many places takes much time to be so detailed, it had an elegant Mexican rodeo feel to it, with lots of booth seats. My only negative would be the old people smell I can sense in the restaurant, the smell you get when you go to a thrift store with all the old things. I do hope that could be improved. Overall I would be back without a question for their good food, great service and nice interior.

Came here to have dinner with my sister and my dad and dads girlfriend. I have never been a fan of there food nor there service. I should have went with my previous intuition. Tonight’s dinner was terrible I ordered 2 Rico tacos with beans and rice my meat was very hard and dry and then I had maybe a total of two table spoons of beans and rice I proceded to ask for the tacos to be switched for flour tortillas before hand and as the waitress placed my food down she acted as if she never heard me .Well say the waitress starting with a C is not a great server Earlier we asked for our waters to be refilled and as they walked over they filled one at kit table and not the rest We had to hunt down other waitress to get out water filled again. They do not pay attention to detail at all. They have rude service and need to re think how they treat there quests . Besides this the women’s bathrooms were closed and unable to be used the women had to use the men’s and the bathroom was terrible no paper towels no hand soap and there was urine all over the floor. I will continue not to come here again due to terrible service and dry food attention to detail makes a difference for good tips and reaccuring customer service

I recently had my 21st birthday dinner at Toledos and we had excellent service the entire night! Our waitress was great and was always attentive. For my first drink I asked for the bartender Luis(I specifically came to Toledos because I’ve heard so many great things about his drinks). He made me a strawberry margarita, which was delicious along with the dinner. My family also brought in gansitos(mexican desserts) instead of cake and they presented them very nicley with thier fried icecream free of charge! Be sure to order drinks from Luis! He’s great at what he does, very friendly and amigable !

I went with my family for a celebration dinner. They were able to seat our party of 9 on short notice(at a table that was in an alley). The Service alone would get 3 – 4 stars, unfortunately we didn’t just go for service. My family had issues with every dish ordered, cold chicken in the enchiladas, old shrimp in the fajitas and very greasy shredded beef. We even found a piece of plastic in one of the enchiladas. The manager replaced the enchilada plate and offered a free dessert. The Vanilla Flan with extra caramel was practically tasteless, no vanilla taste and whatever the topping was it was not caramel. I grew up eating Mexican food and this was an experience to remember, I will remember not to return to this restaurant.

I came here for the chips & salsa plus my co-workers were meeting here. Now, it’s enough said that my job is stressful, so hanging out with the co-workers after a hard days work is just mental but it’s great to un-wind with your fellow slaves. Toledo’s is great for that. It’s crowded and really, that’s just fun! We sat at a really big table and laughed, had tons of chips & salsa(which our waitress kept bringing, as well as filling our glasses!). I ordered the enchilada with cheese because I know what I like. Everyone else ordered differently so I got to spy a bit of this and that. Nothing looked bad, mine was pretty good. I have to say, the beans are right on, the rice was a bit dry – but no worries, it was still good. My meal came with soup/salad. I had the meat-ball soup, which was good. Nothing to write home about but good. Everyone else enjoyed their meal but some people didn’t like this or that and seemed a bit picky to me. You know you find there are just some people you can’t please in this world. *sounds like my job motto* Oh well, I guess they were just reliving work. I thought the whole hour was fun and the waitress earned every cent! I hope everyone tipped her generously. In the end a few things could have been better, but I do like the atmosphere, the service, the prices and the food. Not a bad place to dine with your work buds!

Ambiance is a pastel Mexican courtyard; bar is an alleyway. Like the decorated tablecloths beneath the glass. Booth was pretty clean, minus the floor. Mexican music beats softly under the level of conversation. Like the ambiance – 4 stars. Waitress, Alex, was pretty good. Got our drinks out quickly, refilled them often, and got our orders right. Five stars. The busser was on our chips and salsa, even as we were getting ready to leave. Note: five members of my family has been here before, and all but one have complained about consistently bad service and quit going a year ago(the other hailed their good service). Though I didn’t experience it, point is noted. I got the sopas. Three come on a plate. Consistency of the tortilla«bowl» was about like a pan pizza at Pizza Hut – greasy, chewy, nasty. The beans soaked into the tortilla, so I didn’t taste them. Chicken and toppings were good. The beans and rice were nice in texture and flavor. Two stars. Both my dinner companions said the food was filling(definitely agree – I didn’t eat the third sopa). One mentioned his enchirito was cold, with too many onions and not enough chicken; the other said the food was«OK.» Average two stars for their food. Overall OK.

My wife took me here for dinner tonight because she loves Mexican food, and this place was right on our way home. She had the enchiladas verde and says it was good. I had the Toledo’s burrito. Wow, was it salty. Thought it might just be me, but I had my wife taste it and she agreed. Makes me wonder if the cook or chef tastes the food. If we weren’t in such a hurry, I would have sent it back. Our server was excellent, though. Very nice. And the place was almost empty. So we didn’t have to wait for anything. It’s a bit pricey and not a great value. I’d just expect more for $ 28, and that’s drinking water! Don’t think I’ll be back. There’s better Mexican for less nearby. Was worth a try…

UPDATE11÷13÷13 I have increased my review from 2 stars up to 3 stars. Ordered the Caldo de pollo. It was presented piping hot and full to the brim. There was more than enough Chicken in the soup and the flavor was what I was hoping for… out of this world. The server(Alejandro) was very attentive and we did not even have to ask for any water glass refills. The staff asked us if we wanted a refill on the chips and salsa and the meal was presented in a short about of time. Seems that they are trying to improve. Keep it up Sam. ____________________________________________ I can see now why, with this many reviews, this restaurant has only received an average of 3 stars. The food presentation was rushed. The soup was still on the table when the main course was brought. Although it was packed during dinner, every customer that I saw inside was«White»… First clue. Ordered the Toledo Burrito which has slices of beef meat on top with Ranchero sauce and some onion and green Bell Pepper.(see picture) While the flavors were good in the Ranchero sauce, the beef meat was over cooked and therefore tough and needed more seasoning as it was very bland in flavor. It came with Albondigas soup which was very flavorful but one negative was the fact that a Bay Leaf was left in the soup which can be a choking hazard. The straws that that were presented for the drinks were not in their wrappers and thus we do not know where they have been in contact with. The server(female«Alex») only came back to check on how we were doing only when I made eye contact with her and we more ¾ of the way done with the meal. There was a couple of flies around the table and food. The GOOD: Good flavor in the Ranchero sauce Excellent flavor in the Albondigas soup Good refill on the drinks without asking Good flavor in the beans and rice The BAD: Flies Beef meat tough and not flavorful Bay Leaf remained in soup Rushed service between soup and main course Straws not presented in their wrappers
