Sensei Wael’s Hammerhead Hapkido is the most efficient and practical self defense system that I have come across in my 10 years of training. Wael is an incredibly motivated and patient teacher. He is also a very wise and yet easygoing person, and makes the experience of learning an extremely devastating martial art as low stress as possible.

Wael Abdelgawad is an incredible instructor with a heart of gold. With all the martial arts instructors out there today it is difficult to find one who is as talented, and passionate about teaching as Sensei Wael. Wael’s approach to teaching is practical, and easy to learn. Be prepared for a work out, a few laughs, and a learning experience that can save your life if you ever need to use it.

THE BEST! I truly love Sensei Wael’s philosophy and approach to Hapkido and Martial Arts. I first got to train with him around 2012 when I lived in Fresno and truly benefitted from his technical instruction and patience. These days when I get a chance, I happily make the long drive to Fresno to train with Wael and learn the Hammerhead Hapkido system. I recommend it for people of all levels of experience and sincerely thank Sensei Wael for his passion and teaching generosity!
