Sleepy’s

I would have given this review five stars had I only dealt with my mattress consultant Joe, but I had to knock one star off because I was about to purchase the wrong bed from another consultant.
Don’t get me wrong, both men were very nice, but it was clear that the first consultant was strongly pushing for a sale and I almost bought the wrong bed. I came into the store with a tight budget. He had been patient with me for trying the different beds, but when I wasn’t set on a particular one, he convinced me to put down a deposit on a bed that apparently was best used as a guest bed — not one that would support me sleeping on it for years.
I was able to think about the bed overnight and came back the next day, thinking that it still wasn’t for me. With a new consultant to deal with, Joe, I explained my situation all over again and he said that that particular bed was not the best fit for my needs.
My overall experience with Joe was great! He really knows his products and helped me pick the best mattress for my situation (I’m moving to California and needed to have the mattress shipped there for my arrival) — he figured everything out to help me maintain my budget, down to the point where I can save on shipping costs! Thanks Joe!!!

When I got to sleepy’s I started looking for a mattress in my price range on my own and I had narrowed it to two beds. Sure enough when the salesman came over to me, he tried hard to get me to pick a different mattress that was more expensive. Naturally he will, he’s a salesman, so I just had to say it’s going to be one of these two.
Once I picked the one I wanted, he started to tell me how I could get it next day delivery, which was ok, and then about the mattress covers and. He told me about one mattress cover and then said they were out of stock so he tried selling me one that I could get the next day. I didn’t need the mattress cover the next day and said that I would wait for the cover and the mattress to be ready and he got very intense about how he had to make that next day sale for him to get a bonus, which I really didn’t like. I said fine on the mattress, but I’m not getting the other cover.
Overall, I got the mattress I wanted, the price was good, but I thought that he was a little pushy and too honest. I work in sales too and your’e not supposed to tell people how a sale is going to effect you personally, it’s about the customer, not the salesman.
