The food is amazing! I ordered thai hot level and it was flavorful and delicious! That said, the service was terrible. The server was in a hurry to get us out the door. At 8:30, she told us the restaurant had closed. It was only after I stepped out, I saw the close time was 9:00. In addition, the server’s tone was pretty rude – disappointing.

If you are complaining your food wasn’t spicy enough and you didn’t order level 6, you are an idiot. Went for lunch today, Saturday, and I had a great experience. Ordered their special, an entrée, appetizer, soup and a drink and after tax it was $ 9.49. The waitress was very attentive, my drink came out in a couple minutes, followed by the soup and appetizer a couple minutes later, then my entrée came, all in less than 10 minutes. The shrimp rangoon was awesome, the Tom Yum soup was so spicy I coughed after my first sip(which is a good thing), and my red curry beef(spice level 6) was excellent and had my nose running. I could see the sweat dripping down back of the bald guy’s head in the booth next to me. All the ingredients were fresh, the food came out quick, spice level was high, price was under $ 10 before tip. Great experience in my book, will be back for their curry for sure.

The food was ok. The chicken was a bit rubbery. I’m not certain I would go back here again.

The four of us came for a casual dinner on New Years Eve after hearing great things about this place. This restaurant is very interestingly named, Zuzap, I never would have guessed this was a Thai restaurant if I didn’t do my research prior to coming here. Although it is uniquely named, this is pretty much a standard Thai restaurant with great food, there’s no twist that makes it deserving of a wacky name. We started with Fried Tofu, Meatballs, and Stuffed Curry for appetizers. These all tasted fantastic! We also ordered a papaya salad to share, it tasted more on the sweeter side although we ordered it a bit spicy, overall the dish was okay. For the entrees, we had the Red Curry Fried Rice(Chicken), Fire Flaming Fish(Not the exact name of the dish, but sounds like it), Boat Noodle Soup, and Street Pork BBQ Rice. The first 3 dishes were fantastic, excellent presentation and taste. The Street Pork BBQ Rice was not what we expected, it tasted mediocre. We also ordered the Taro Pearl dessert and that by far was the best dessert I have had in a long time! I would seriously drive out of my way to just order this dessert, it is that good! A big issue with our visit was, it took approximately 30 minutes to receive the appetizers after we ordered. It approximately 1 hour 15 minutes from our initial ordering to receive the entrees. We were informed by the staff they were busy because of many to-go orders they had to fulfill.(There were only a few other dine-in customers). We were never informed it would take over an hour to get food. We definitely did not expect this long of a wait. It was New Years Eve so hopefully that was only limited to that night for there slow service.

The food here was actually pretty good. We didn’t eat in but it is a cute, casual environment. The cashier/waiter was nice. The Food: Simply Fried Rice — 3⁄5 not bad. Our son liked it, so that’s always a plus. It had flavor and was simple and tasty Pad thai — 3⁄5 We are still in search of a great pad thai place that’s real and authentic. This one is closer to authentic than other places though. Good flavor but the noodles were a Lil under-cooked Tom Kha Gai(Coconut Chicken Soup) — 4⁄5 by far the best that I’ve had in town. Perfect blend of sour, sweet, and spicy. Would get this over and over again The food overall was good but what is holding me back from rating this four stars, are the prices and the hit and miss on the food. We’ve been here other times where the food was excellent, and we’ve been here where it was mediocre. If they were more persistent and didn’t charge so much, we’d be here more often.

I often order their food for to go, and its always great. One day, me and my siblings came to eat here. The door wasn’t open so I called them to open the door right at 5:10. I also heard the two ladies arguing about the door being closed. So we came in to sat down, the lady who served us doesn’t look happy. No greetings and shes chewing gum… Whenever we say thank you, she didn’t respond back. The only time she said something is when she put our check down. Me and my siblings wasn’t happy at all. Otherwise, the food is great!

Always fresh. Always hot and spicy. Just the way I like it. Sesame chicken is amazing. Can’t go wrong with the green or panang curry. I always order 4 stars and sometimes more when I really wanna sweat. Great food, fast delivery, slower wait on inside, but thats obvious. Five stars.

This was our first visit to Zuzap, so I will give it another try and update my review… but quite frankly, I was disappointed. I felt the egg drop soup was more the consistency of watery scrambled eggs. For my taste it was not soup-like. I order the Basil dish with beef and my beef was tough and tasteless and there was little evidence of basil in my dish. We were served by two very different women. The young server was welcoming, had a vibrant smile and a great attitude. The older woman treated us with gruffness and gave us the sense that we were bothering her. I will always choose Thai Flavors or Cool Basil over Zuzap.

Yammy Yammy yammy! Holy heck! Delicious, inexpensive, fast. I’ll be back whenever I’m rolling through for sure. Final advice… They actually make the food as spicy as their spicy levels dictate. I had the five stars and it heated me up just right. My wife had to go with the six and she loved the heat level which would make most of the rest of us cry.

OK– to be clear– this review is being written not because of the servers… but the cooks/owner who insist on taking too long to get the food out. I have been a long time fan, brought new people, and have even put up with absolutely HORRIBLESERVICE because it took 90 mins to have a 35 minute lunch! I ordered 4 lunches to go– it took them 1 hour to make them. Unacceptable. I feel so bad for the servers who have no control over this. It’s called FIFO Kitchen manager or Owner… Unfortunately you have lost my support and I will NEVER come there again and I will tell hundreds about this experience.

Waited about 40 minutes for the soup to arrive. It’s soup. Another 15m for entrees. I ordered shrimp & scallop phad thai. It had 4 shrimps and no scallops. They don’t even take the Not much flavor. I also ordered sticky rice that never arrived. The server didn’t check on us once. Prices are good. Food is mediocre. Waiting time is unacceptable.

My favorite Thai place in the metro. It is small and it can be very busy. Sometimes the service is very slow, but sometimes it’s perfect(and it may be due to things happening in the kitchen). I love the Tofu Pad Thai most of all, but have also had the House Special Fried Rice, and a couple of the curries. ALLDELICIOUS! Also love the coconut soup! New note — There is a new server that is very pissy and never smiles. She needs an attitude adjustment.

The price you pay for all the items you get is an awesome deal. The food itself is amazing. All the flavors pop. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the wait is long to get your food and to pay during lunch hour. We waited for our checks for about 20 minutes. But honestly, it’s worth the wait for the quality of food you are getting. Asian fast food atmosphere for the quality of a nice restaurant.

Best Thai spicy red curry fried rice with chicken, green beans & red/green peppers from Zuzap. I’m glad that I decided to stop in for a delicious dinner.

A wonderful little place! I’ve never dined-in but the dining room is very cute and very clean. The staff are incredibly friendly and the food is wonderful. I’ve ordered pick-up from here a few times and never once had to wait. As long as I live nearby I will be a customer. Just a little tip: the chicken pad wun sen is an excellent lighter choice for the beginner. While I love the curries and spicier dishes, PWS is my go-to. The noodles are drug-like in their deliciousness. If you don’t like spicy, be sure to let them know. 1 star is a tiny bit of heat so if you don’t want any heat, speak up. I prefer a 2(or if I’m feeling particularly adventurous, a 2.5).

This place gets such great reviews so I gave it another chance after initial disappointment. The result was unfortunately the same. Both visits here have been no more than okay, but my complaint was greasy food. Even the veggie summer rolls were oily. That was without the peanut sauce that also had lots of added oil. After four items here everything appears to be cooked in or prepared with much more oil than any other Thai food I have had. It feels heavy and overdone. I cannot explain vegetable summer rolls and the need to add so much(any) oil. Much better choices very nearby.

I came for lunch today and ordered kaw soi– a curry gravy/egg noodle soup dish with tofu and veggies. My food came out very fast and I didn’t wait long at all, which I was concerned about after reading a few other reviews. The flavor was pretty good, I chose my spice level to be very hot, which I felt I could have gone much spicier on. I did get an extra dollar charge next to what said(4 star for my «very hot» spice level)… Not sure what that was from or why I got it, so I wasn’t very happy with that, but the food is tasty and fresh. The egg drop soup needed a little bit more seasoning(salt/pepper). I think I still prefer the flavors at aroy dee and Thai flavors a little more, but it’s solid Thai food for this side of town.

Excellent quaint service and amazing food. Food takes a looong time, which I perceive as a sign of fresh, made-to-order nosh. And it does not disappoint. I loved the Tom Kai coconut soup and the General Tsao chicken :) Can’t wait to return, hopefully many more times to introduce my friends to the best Thai food in Iowa!!!
