The vast selection alone makes this a worthwhile trip for any musician. Tons of guitars and bass guitars, both electric and acoustic. I could sit in there for hours, just playing around.
The staff is always super friendly and helpful.
Definitely recommend.

Friendly and knowledgable staff with a wide selection of products. From mid range beginner items to super high end professional series guitars costing thousands they have it.
Really unique shop, love the strange taxidermy everywhere.
They keep their products really well.
Very nice store and they carry a great variety if accessories as well. Be prepared to spend if you get something here though. You will always want everything here if you are a music enthusiast.

I got my guitar amp and a surprise present of a Höfner bass for my husband here.
The staff is outrageously helpful and really takes their time to help you find what what you want.
Despite the fact that I’m kind of a newbie when it comes to electric guitars they smile and nod along and answer all my weird questions.
The store is clean and they put deep discounts on rad stuff if it sits around and they’re full to capacity.

Professional Music Center is a fantastic choice for any musician whether you are a beginner or playing at Hoyt Sherman tonight. The selection of guitars is one of the finest I have seen in any mom and pop shop in the midwest.
They also have a huge selection of guitar effects pedals and processors.
They have an acoustic guitar room upstairs where you can fingerpick in a nice quiet room, because down stairs somebody is bound to be rocking «Iron Man,» on a Marshal half stack.
Professional Music also has a nice selection of drum, recording, and keyboard gear. They will also order you anything you could want. Also if you need lessons or your guitar neck set up, this is your one stop shop.
Prices are right on, with most mom and pop shops and if your looking to buy a used guitar which I have done there, they even let me barter with them a bit! If your planning on stopping at Guitar Center, check these guys out first!

This is the best Guitar shop in Iowa. The staff are super friendly and informative. They don’t try to give you the hard sell, but are right there if you need them. Whether you’re there to try, buy, or shoot the breeze they’re super cool. They have an awesome selection ranging from beginner to boutique gear, and the pedal selection is the largest I’ve seen! Come here! It’s worth a drive!
