This is NOT great Chinese food. Whoever thinks it is has never had even decent Chinese food. It’s passable, barely. Stopped in again a couple of weeks ago, this time just for a quick soup and egg rolls, sat down at a table, got the soup quickly but it took 20 minutes to get 2 egg rolls for me and my wife. No big deal… they were sure hot… so hot that they melted through the styrofoam plates they were placed upon thereby ruining them. FYI it’s not at all healthy to eat styrofoam melted into your food. And they need to clean up the dirt or at least hide it better. Tables are not as clean as they should be(ok, it’s mainly a take out place but people do sit down to eat there, so clean the darn tables at least once a day). Supplies are stacked sloppily in the dining area There are just no quality Chinese places in the Branchburg/Whitehouse/Lebanon/Clinton area it seems. Better idea is to go into Shop Rite next door and buy some frozen La Choy… they make Chinese food«swing American»!

5 «Clinton» stars for the best Chinese in the area. Great spicy chicken with garlic sauce. The dim sum is quite delicious as is the hot and sour soup. This is a great value play Chinese joint that will fill you up and leave you craving Chinese the following week and you’ll one back for seconds. The dim sum dish is quite good and is worth the jaunt to this spot. Singapore noodles are always spot on and very consistent. The shrimp is unusually large in comparison to other Chinese places in the area. I’ve talked myself to going here tomorrow.

There are pretty much two Chinese places in the Clinton area. And I believe they are both very good. I must say the food taste relatively the same so I do not have any complaints. If anything I believe this place has better hard noodles.

Fast food Chinese. My was fine but my wife was very disappointed. Not too many options around but they are better.

Love this Chinese place. I live closer to some other places but travel here to get food here. Their general tso chicken is so good and usually I get sick after Chinese food, but never here! It’s not too greasy. Service is always fast and the people working are always sweet.

After my favorite Chinese take out had burnt down in January 2015, I found myself searching for an alternative which isn’t easy in these parts of New Jersey. Fortunately, a friend had recommended Human Wok… ooops, I mean HUNANWOK. Much to my delight, the food has been delicious, not too greasy or salty, and the service has been splendid. However; when they tell you«15 minutes» I really wish they meant it. If they’re running behind and it’s going to take over a half hour, just tell me. It’s alright. I don’t mind waiting for quality.

Found them to be very good with the«Happy Family» dinner we have had a few times. Also the boneless ribs and egg foo yung are also excellent! Live near by and locals prefer Hunan Wok… After a few visits we know we wont be dissapointed.

I see and agree with the theme, dirty. I have noticed things where I wish I worked for the health department. Not sure why but after seeing these things the food just just does not seem to taste as good. After eating dinner I feel very swollen the next day and very thirsty. I parked near a van, two gentlemen got out, one made a terrible sound then spit. I followed them in the place. The older gentlemen went behind the counter and started putting rice in containers without washing his hands. I would recommending going elsewhere like flemington.

Somewhat dirty. Biggest issue is the food is inconsistent, sometimes inedible(memories of super greasy and watery beef and broccoli with no flavor). I gave this place 2 stars because the soups are ok and the 2 younger staff members that work the counter are always so nice.

Nice place, very reasonable and the food is good. Try the boneless rib combo and chicken and broccoli.

What’s with the Chinese food in Hunterdon County? Hunan Wok maintains the strong tradition of lousy — mediocre Asian cuisine in western NJ. The place wasn’t as dirty as some of the other reviewers noted when I visited, but the food wasn’t anything special. Hot and sour soup was very watery. Shrimp in lobster sauce was also watery and bland. Ribs were decent, but nothing special. Steamed dumplings were cased in a dough that was way too thick. Sweet and sour chicken came with the chicken and sauce served separately, which I didn’t care for. Food seemed fresh. No complaints there, but overall, not very impressive. They are clearly set up for take out more so than eat in, even thought they feature many tables. We ordered at the counter and were never offered plates, bowls or utensils. We had to get our supplies from the take out section. For mediocre take out, it was OK. If you’re looking for a causal sit down environment try China Moon in Flemington instead.

First off I will agree this place is dirty but most places like it are so why act surprised. Never gotten sick though. We usually get take out because it’s not really a place you enjoy sitting down and having a meaL On the plus side, The food is pretty good more often than not. Steamed dumplings are very good. The main reason I would give 3 and not 4 stars is because every now and then they have an off night when the food isn’t very good. By Clinton standards this place holds it’s own.

dirty dirty dirty I left after watching the person in full view(before they put in doors for the kitchen) eat beans while prepping them. The worse was one of them wiped their nose with their hand and kept on cooking. Stay away

Since there’s only 2 Chinese Restaurants in Clinton, and none in Lebanon, I do frequent Hunan Wok often; it’s much easier than going all the way to Branchburg, which is the next closest Chinese. Very standard food, nothing is shockingly good, nor is it bad — it’s just fine — fills the tummy when you’re hungry. I do like that they now serve brown rice at no extra charge — from memory the lunch special is now served with just soup and choice of rice, they just don’t serve the eggroll like they did back in the day, and of course the price is a bit more(sign of the times), but still the standard price, so a pretty good deal.
