Fox Lumber

Bought Pressure treated lumber from here. Same quality as Home Dumpo just 25% more expensive. Very disappointed.

Used Fox Lumber for deck project after Hurricane Sandy. Service was great, pricing is better than anyone around (including Lowes or Home Depot), and wood was good quality stuff. I had everything delivered the very next day. Got pressure treated and cedar and received nearly every board in perfect shape with little warping and splitting. Believe me I miscalculated by 3 boards and was finishing up framing on a Sunday (which they are closed) so I took a ride to Lowes to pick out the additional 3 2×10s to finish up the framing. I had to go thru 20 boards until I found 3 suitable for my deck. Long story short, great wood at better pricing, knowledgable helpful staff, free delivery (might be orders of $ 1000 or more), and you feel good about supporting a local small business. I will use them again and recommend them to anyone doing a similar project. They been in business 100+ years so you know they are doing something right!

After 6 months in our new home, the project list has grown significantly. The hubs wasn’t happy with the quality of the wood products at HD and Lowe’s, so off to the land of lumberyards we went. Having never been to a real lumberyard, it was QUITE an experience!
We just needed 2x4s and 2x3s, but we had a huge list of things we needed pricing on as well (pressure treated lumber for our deck, crown molding, and all sorts of fun). The guy at the sales counter was very helpful in getting us the pricing we needed and pointing out where to pull the lumber that we needed from the yard.
Out on the yard, someone was nice enough to help us pull and load our lumber and recommend the best driving path to get to the other side of the lumberyard (it’s a bit muddy and icy this time of year!). A quick stop for the hubs to explore MDF (ooo…exciting! :-p) and then we were back to the sales desk to pay.
We’ll definitely be placing our big order with them to take advantage of their delivery service! Prices were within a few percent of the big box stores… our lumber was actually cheaper than HD & Lowe’s.
