New owners, who also owns the Meat Hut in Clinton Making a lot of changes Stopped in for dinner tonight, with my niece and nephew. We ordered the ribs, pulled pork, Mac and cheese and a grilled chicken salad and a pizza slice with pulled pork, caramelized onions and Mac and cheese on it, WOW what a combination, my niece loved it Everything was excellent. Can’t wait to see it after the remodeling and full menu changes are completed

I was driving through the area on my way back to Jersey. Found this restaurant online and stopped in for dinner. I ordered the ziti and meatballs, and it was absolutely outstanding. I usually never order meatballs out because they are never as good as home made ones. I am never passing through Clinton again without stopping here.

I am writing this review currently however I ate there one time only and that was in the Fall of 2012 I believe. We have you sent me Rico located up to the shoreline from Long Island New York. They were holding an auction at the same address is in attached warehouse /barn like building. Now I was a teacher on Long Island for 14 years but I always works with antiques, auctions at galleries and at houses excetera. They always would have food trucks comments 0 food but the type of food trucks that had varieties from sandwiches to hot food soup salad drinks etc. Anyway this place there is nothing around we really didn’t know the area and didn’t want to leave the auction. So my mother and I went to the«PIZZA!!!» place next door for my father stayed in bid on items. Now they do have like a market area where you can buy Italian products to bring home and make and that looked decent but we didn’t buy any of that stuff. They do make sandwiches however my mother is a vegetarian I eat meat but I only Boar’s Head cold cuts & cheese I’m a little less picky. We were going to get the soup but there was none left and it was only around 1 p.m. on a Saturday. They had pizza slices if you could even call it pizza I had never seen anything so thin and flat in my entire life that looked like that. Even being from New York when you order a thin crust pizza it never look like that plus it was in a business or shape and it was cut very strangely. They have a few couple of tables so they told us to just take your seat and they bring it over my mother had ordered a salad which they didn’t have too many options for her to put in except for Jess, tomato, red onion and some shredded carrots that’s about it. So the pizza was extremely hard and crunchy that she is was melted the source really didn’t have much flavor or do anything for me. the edges of the crust or so well done but they didnt look burnt they were just very well done & hard to chew! So unfortunately we will not be going back there for salad was small mainly just iceberg lettuce watery and they only had maybe two options for salad dressing. and like I said they carry soups and two out of the three or four they were sold out of. We couldn’t get the car out to go anywhere because they had people directing us where to park in the place was packed we debated crossing Killingworth Turnpike to go to Dunkin Donuts. But didn’t. Next time I will take that chance and cross the Turnpike if we go to the auction place again which we were not at all impressed with that place either but I can’t remember the name.

Just gave this place another shot, I generally give 5 stars to most good businesses, I can believe how bland the food is here. The guy behind the counter was really angry about something. Made my sandwich in about 2 seconds, so that was good I guess.

Great Italian deli. This place might have the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten. I don’t rank grinders/subs but I can’t think of a better one. The«hitman» is absolutely amazing. House made roast beef and house roasted turkey with fresh mutz, basil, tomatoes, and olive oil. Try it. You won’t be disappointed.

Poor quality, over priced. The garlic bread was greasy, expensive and of poor quantity. 7.50 for a half a loaf of grinder roll! The gluten free pizza was awful :(First and last time at this place, I’ll order from nuzzo’s the next time I want to wait an hour for delivery! There’s quite a few better options in town!

I recently moved to Killingworth(next town over) from New Jersey, right outside of Philly. For a year I couldn’t find a place that delivered to me, and it turns out, now, that the only place that does is Ceniccola’s. For the last year I have been going to pick pizza’s up from places that wouldn’t know how to make a pizza if the sh! t crust and p!$$ed mozzarella. Connecticut is to pizza what Afghanistan is to feminism. So I find this place, Cenniccola’s. The Food tastes like, and this may shock you… It tastes like they come from someplace else. Someplace that knows how to make pizzeria food. People eating pizza in connecticut, just about anywhere else, are like those people that think Chinese take-out is what actual Chinese people eat in china. Morons. This place knows how to make food. That said, the owner is gruff. Not the kind of gruff where he is mean or sh!##y or what have you. In fact, I have always had fine conversation when I go in there. But he’s old school and he knows what he’s doing. So, in that context let me address a couple of the comments I find here on Unilocal. Emma N., Your little monster is probably a terror and you are probably a bad parent. You should take the fact that it took someone else to parent you kid so he would stop being whatever kind of wretch he was being as a sign of much needed self-reflection. Get over it and eat your pizza. Connie C., $ 15 for three slices of pizza and 6 garlic knots? First off, a full sized pizza at Ceniccola’s is $ 10. Secondly, 6 garlic knotts is $ 3. So 8 slices and your knots are less than what you claim here. You are an idiot or a liar. Furthermore, you ordered slices. Slices in ever place I have ever set foot in are not right out of the oven. «It’s greeeeeeaaaassssyyyyyy… wwwaaaaaaaaaaaa»… You’re at a pizzeria. Just stop. Lauren V… Sigh. You need counseling. Joe R. «And be careful your mouth!!!» So this guy changes his mind after ordering, and then calls and attempts to change that order in a way that, I can only assume, resembles that paragraph. Then, and I am almost guessing as no one who speaks english and reads could be sure, you feel you were responded to like a «fool»? Yeah. Sounds about right. Kris F. Let me try to say this in the proper accent… Ahem… «your garbage.» Americanized? A Pizzeria? Where in the h.e.ll do you think pizza is not americanized? Di Vinci’s, the frat boy hub? Desperate for a pizza? You have serious issues. I hope your children have flippers. Ryan T. If this happened, then yeah. A Chicken Parm comes with cheese. I don’t know why anyone would think it doesn’t. Weird. Anyway. this is my first Unilocal review. You’re welcome, dirtbags. Ceniccola’s is great.

Do you like to be treated as if you are a nuisance? Do you like to be condensed to? Do you like be told your family is not well behaved?(My child was excited to see our new dog and walked in and out twice and was told she could not do that and i was told she was not well behaved!) All while you are buying food from the restaurant? Food not worth the disrespect and negative attitude of the owner.

Ceniccola’s is a great place to stop and grab a bite to eat after a day at the outlets! The restaurant is family run and they are always friendly! We always order a pizza and were never disappointed!

What many New Yorkers don’t understand about New Haven pizza is that there’s not just one or two or three good pizza places in this area. This area, and by this area I mean the entire county, is fortunate to have a lot of good pizza places. Sure, it does have some sucky ones(so does NYC too) but the truth is you can walk into a no-name pizza joint in the middle of no where and there’s a good chance you’ll walk out with a pizza that beats the pants off of many New York pizzerias. Ceniccola’s is one such place. Now I’ve never heard of Ceniccola’s until recently and I’ve lived along the shoreline for a long time. But I’m assuming pizza making might come easy to them. Bruno, the owner, is originally from West Haven(hence the New Haven connection, because yes technically Clinton is in Middlesex County). Plus the guy is Italian. So those two things set a good foundation for good pizza. Their pizza is slightly on the heavy side. But that’s OK because I like it that way. No I’m not talking heavy like Chicago pizza or Silician pizza. I’m talking heavy like Ernie’s and Grand Apizza whose pizza is slightly thicker than Pepe’s or Sally’s. Plus there’s a hefty portion of mozzarella and tomato sauce on every slice. My pizza was a small but it weighed more like a large. My only two gripes were that the pizza smelled slightly(it stunk up my car with something, maybe it was garlic?) and the crust wasn’t as chewy as I typically like. But don’t get me wrong, like I mentioned earlier, this little no-name pizza place in the middle of nowhere could likely beat the pants off of many NY established pizzerias. I have no idea how their other food rates. When given the choice bewteen pizza and something else, I suppose I’m a kid at heart and will always choose pizza.

Paid $ 15 for 3 slices and 6 garlic knots. We made a pit stop here on a road trip in April. We don’t even pay that steep price in NYC! The pizza is not fresh but cold and warmed up. It tasted ok and was very greasy. The garlic knots was totally awesome though, but again, very greasy. It is fresh garlic dressed in olive oil.

Too bad, I just want to change the delivery time and pizza cause my family want to early and want to change pizza, so i call back two times, look at your tone of voice man, you think I’m fool you? It’s so funny. Listen man today you do this for me next day if another people like me to do this thing for you and you still like today’s talk, finally no people will don’t want to go this restaurant again! I’m really angry! And be careful your mouth!

We have had a decent sandwich from this place, but Easter sealed the deal for us… we won’t go here again. Not every Italian who cooks from the old country should open a business doing it. We ordered a Cannoli Cake from them for Easter after the employee’s told us what a great holiday dessert it was. Our bad, we thought we saw it posted for $ 18.95, but in fairness, did not clarify. Much to our horror, the day before Easter, my sister went to pick it up and was handed 2 trays of PREPACKAGED mini cannoli shells, PREPACKAGED filling and a large cannoli shell and was told to assemble it herself so the shells wouldn’t get mushy. Here’s the BAD part… it was $ 60!!! Yes…sixty dollars. Instead of refusing in front of other customers, she just paid and broke down in tears when she got home feeling like an idiot. Worse even was what a mess it was when we tried to serve it. Effing nightmare. It just crumbled into a pile of shells and filling and wasn’t even that tasty. We accept our mistakes here, but truthfully, this is highway robbery and really, really bad business. Good luck, but I feel no shame sharing this story with others.

the first time I tried this place, I was incredibly disappointed! I spent $ 23 on a caprese salad, a soda and a prosciutto wrap. this was to be lunch and dinner, and an expensive one for a deli. The caprese salad was MINISCULE! the prosciutto wrap was tiny– one slice! I ate both for lunch and was still hungry and very pissed! after other people said it really wasn’t bad, i tried them again 6 mos. later since they are very close to work. i had a panini and it was large this time. not sure what the heck they were thinking before. it’s still not great but it’s convenient. they have sushi too, pretty pricey but again, convenient. Also, I am Italian and not picky, but if I spend $ 23 at a deli, I better be F-U-L-L!

I have no idea what the other reviewer was talking about. I have tried this place three times. The pizza is kind of inconsistent. The salads and subs are good, but the paninis are disgusting. My family is from Italy and Ceniccola’s food is Americanized. It is not true Italian food. And, the red headed delivery guy never has change so you have to leave him a huge tip. I only order from them when I’m desperate and can’t get Nuzzo’s(in Madison) on the phone.

I treated some friends to a meal here after they helped us move, and everyone loved it. Quality ingredients and a family-owned atmosphere! They come from the province of Benevento, within the region of Campania, Italy. Prices seem a little high at first but you get what you pay for, and then some. The homemade paninis and the subs are gigantic; you won’t finish them in one sitting unless you’re really hungry. The outdoor seating is a nice touch. Haven’t tried their pizza yet but I hope to soon.
