Basil Bandwagon Natural Market

Love this health food store! They have such an amazing variety of packaged foods, vitamins and fresh produce. The store is small but has a lot of options and speciality vegan, vegetarian food options. They have a small section of pre made foods which is great for on the go, the Flemington store has a smoothie and food bar that offers sandwiches, wraps and other options and it would be great to see if the Clinton store implemented the same.

Small independent health food stores are such a welcome discovery when you are on the road but don’t want to eat crap. Their small deli section had a ton of wonderful salads and sandwiches. Plenty of excellent drinks too. The store’s entire selection is much bigger than you would think, and the staff is very helpful. They also have a bathroom. Clinton is such a cool little town.

I’m not sure why there is any negative review here. This is a new store and there are some renovations but it’s fine. Well organized and well stocked. Not any more pricey then natural food stores are on average.

I’m happy to be able to find a great selection of vegetarian and vegan food, along with natural products close to work/​home. Prices are fair in comparison to supermarket prices, a big selection of different tofu and tempeh. Coupons can be found in local Smart Shopper Magazine. Good spot, with polite and friendly staff!

small, expensive, but meets your needs to an extent. I was excited to see the vegan section in there so my friend could buy «not cheese» haha… but other then that i wouldn’t really need to go in here for much.

Perhaps if this location underwent major reorganization of product, had more updated lighting and décor, and had more accessible employees, i’d probably be re willing to go here again…
Ok, it’s a new location. Problems arise and problems can be worked out. But this store seemed dirty, dimly lit, poorly organized, and the two people working were on cell phones (pet peeve-​customer service!), much of the time my friend and i walked around searching for what we needed without even being greeted or asked for help. And frankly, I found things hard to find here. I went in with three things I specifically wanted, knowing Flemington Basil usually has em. Could not locate them, so naturally I thought that since the other store placed customer orders this one would too. Not a chance at this store, on this particular day, with these particular employees. Walked out and went to the other store where it was a whole better place. I’m staying out of this store until it improved.

My wife and I have family and friends close to Clinton, NJ and we visit every Thanksgiving. We happen to be Vegan, so finding Health Food Stores is always welcome.
This past thanksgiving 2012 we were planning to cook some breakfast for friends and stopped by Basil Bandwagon around 8:30 in the morning and quickly realized that they didn’t open until 9:30AM. As I was walking away with my tail between my legs one of the owners came out and said I could come in anyway.
She quickly helped me find the things I was looking for and was super friendly.
Kinda made me wish I lived in a small town like Clinton and not the Boston area, I doubt the owner of the local Whole Foods would let me in early.
Thanks for helping make our holiday weekend complete Basil Bandwagon, we will be coming back every Thanksgiving.
