Probably one of the best lattes I’ve ever had in my entire life. I got the Summer seasonal honey vanilla latte. Perfectly balanced flavors to perk you up on a beautiful Summer Sunday morning. I will be back when I pass through Iowa again. A town gem and a must stop if you adore coffee like I do.

Best coffee and cupcakes in Clinton! We love coming here for lunch and sometimes a mid morning treat. 392 would definitely get 5 stars from me except they are a little pricey. The portions are generous the staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is awesome. We are definitely fans.

Visiting from Seattle Washington. This place is amazing! Fantastic service, phenomenal food and knowledgable staff. Jay, the owner, took the time to personally explain the detailed process of his coffee making. Definitely will come back.

I am not sure what I was expecting when I came to Clinton for my daughters Volleyball tournament– but I was pleasantly surprised by this delightful coffee house. Very nice selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Thumbs up.

Always spectacular service. I always feel welcomed when I come in regardless of how busy they are. I’ve gone a bit out of my regular drip(which is a great deal for fresh coffee) to the bourbon caramel latte. Perfect treat to curb my sweet tooth.

We will make the 30 mile trip from Quad Cities on our day off just for the experience. Fun presentation, cool vibe, good coffee. Love the Chemex style the most.

We were looking for a middle point to meet my parents at between Iowa City and Madison. We stumbled across 392 Caffe’s Unilocal reviews and decided it warranted our first visit to Clinton. What else would we do in Clinton? We had no idea, but this café was going to be our starting place. And thank goodness it was, because wow what a diamond in the rough! This café has it all, from a fun vintage-hipster vibe, to both an incredible bakery case and sandwich menu, and(the most noteworthy part of this experience) baristas who truly know what they’re doing! Really, these guys are killing it. I can’t say enough good things about this place. And I can’t use enough exclamation marks. Seriously, take a day trip and go check it out. Clinton surprisingly has some fun things to explore along the way, so it’s well worth the trip(see: Sawmill Museum, Wide River Winery, the Mississippi river showboat, and loads of beautiful hiking trails).

While in town visiting my mom, I was so happy to discover this wonderful café. Clinton is not exactly a Mecca for gourmet delis and coffee shops, so this was a rare treat. We were taking my mom out to lunch and needed to find a place. So after reading all the reviews on Unilocal,we decided this place would be perfect. After reading so many positive things about their salted caramel mocha, that’s what my husband ordered and he was not disappointed. He said it was one of the best mochas he’s ever had. And they even did a cute heart-shape drawing with the foam and caramel in the cup. I’ve never seen that done in person, not even in Des Moines. I ordered a Cubano sandwich and it was delicious but a little on the small side for $ 8. My husband got a bacon and Gouda sandwich which he loved. His sandwich was also pretty small. My mom got a bacon and cheddar quiche. She said it was good. I love that the café had a wide variety of items from breakfast and lunch items to bakery goods like cupcakes and muffins and drinks like coffees and teas to smoothies and other frozen drinks. They have something for everyone; even for the non-coffee lover like me. I don’t know what people are talking about when they said they received terrible customer service. We were welcomed cheerfully when we walked in the café. And the person behind the counter was also very friendly when he took our orders. My husband also spoke to the owner before we left and he took the time to speak to my husband about how he started his restaurant. My husband also told him about some good restaurants in Des Moines if he was ever in town. We had a very nice experience. I’m so glad we have a place to eat the next time we’re in town. I would have given them five stars but their sandwiches were kind of small for the price. But otherwise, everything else was stellar.

A real coffee shop in Clinton IA!!! Has hipsters and real macchiatos and fresh baked goods and everything a lost urbanite needs. The coffee is outstanding, maybe the best I’ve ever had. The baristas understand the science behind coffee drinks and the flavors they pull are amazing. The owner and staff are great people and have obviously made a following with the locals. The baked goods and food are fantastic, made fresh daily with thought and care. You will not be disappointed if you come here for food or drinks.

My fiancé and I are living in the san francisco area right now and felt so lucky to stumble upon this place while visiting the small town of Clinton, IA. What a gem. I can honestly say this place is totally on par with niche coffee shops on the west coast. The coffee is delicious — freshly roasted and brewed with attention to detail. The staff were genuinely passionate about coffee culture and eager to serve customers. The atmosphere is laid back and inviting — we will definitely be back!

I wanted to love it… Have a few friends that rave. So I went in expecting it to be good stuff! First, I got attitude. I said I wanted a large(«grande» size here) but with a single shot. «Flavor or expresso». Huh? Rude expression as if I am a moron. «Ok… Expresso.» «This size has 3 shots». «Ok. I want 1.» «I’ll do ½ caf, which is 1 ½.» Thanks for listening. I waited, not exaggerating, 20 minutes, and it was barely above lukewarm. I could actually«drink it». It was pretty sad. The whole display wall was coffee items listed. All behind them. Not one indication of food or a menu. And I see food coming out. Now there are pastries displayed at the counter, but nothing in front of you that indicates there is hot/prepared food. I asked«There’s food? Where does it say that?» «The menu’s are right there.»(More snotty tone. Thank you for your friendly service… Oh wait. :() They are on a stand, around the corner visually from the front, behind you as you would be ordering. Wow. For reals? They were very friendly with their regulars.(If you call the hipster dude flirting with a customer friendly.) The counter server was a non-smiling, not friendly, hipster looking girl with her smug attitude and thin unwashed hair in a pony, waiting for barista magazine(why are all the mags coffee mags? I drink it. I don’t wanna read about it) to show up and put her on the cover. NOT impressed. It got the one star for décor. And one for decent coffee taste, though not nearly hot enough. Oh and they unearthed patrons from their tables of 2 to make a long grouping for a group coming in. Literally made people with just delivered food and coffee move to hard stools against the wall. Neat. Oh well… They’ll be leaving soon since their coffee is cold enough to chug. :(

My sister and I stopped in here for coffee one afternoon, and I fell in love! They have you usual coffee/latte/espresso/etc. drinks. But then… there are all different kinds of slow brews to choose from(I believe 5 or 7 different kinds). Wow! As a coffee lover, this is my kind of place. I ended up just getting a caramel macchiato… but that had to be the BEST macchiato I have ever had. It tasted like melted ice cream. Yum. They had some Frank Sinatra playing in the background, and some places to sit and chat or work. The people working there were super nice, drinks came out fast, and everything was reasonably priced. I just wish they were in Chicago!

Salted carmel latte is a must! I never thought I would find such an amazing coffee shop in Clinton. I honestly have to say they have the best lattes and caps I’ve ever had in my life. I’m not from Clinton and I’ve had plenty of coffee all over this country including Seattle. I would never guess the best coffee ever was in Clinton, IA. So far the only food I’ve had is the veggie breakfast burrito and it was awesome. They have free wifi and a bar to sit it that has a long line of outlets. Great atmosphere, great coffee, great food and great customer service. You will not be disappointed!

I love, love, love this place!!! When traveling through Clinton, we stumbled across it while looking for a cup of coffee. It was pure blind luck that took us there the first time, but now when traveling in the area, we intentionally seek it out. 392 Caffe is a hip, fun place to visit and we always leave with a great treat and a big smile. The staff is totally cool and welcoming. This reflects in the attitudes of the customers who all are engaged and having fun. If I lived in Clinton, I would probably spend too much time hanging out there.

I was recently in Clinton for work, and I needed access to WiFi… When I searched for such places on Unilocal,I found Caffe 392. This place is a hidden gem. I walked in, and completely forgot that I was in Eastern Iowa. They make their own caramel, fresh daily, so I decided on the Salted Caramel Latte with soy. In addition, they had some bakery items, and I enjoyed one of the best blueberry muffins I’ve ever had. The drink, albeit lukewarm, was delicious. As for the WiFi, it was free and sufficiently fast. The only problem was that I had a hard time hearing my phone conference over the music playing… But that’s a small gripe. Overall, this is a great spot.

A very refreshing addition to Clinton’s business district. This place is comparable to any coffee shop or bistro one would find while walking through Lincoln Park or Lake View neighborhoods in Chicago. In addition to standard coffee options, they offer fresh fruit smoothies, tasty sandwiches, and FREE internet. This is a perfect place to get out of the house and get some holiday or thank yous written or study. Rain or shine, this a cozy lil’ nook that is worth checking out!
