unable to review food as the delivery never came. placed an order last night with an estimated delivery time of 40 minutes. at the one hour mark i called to check the status of the delivery since we only live about two miles from the restaurant and i was informed that the driver left 15 minutes ago and we were next. the guy on the phone was pretty rude and sounded like he had no idea what was going on. waited another 30 minutes and called again and he still had no idea what was going on so we canceled and they offered nothing to me, not even and apology.

My family has gone to this establishment for close to a decade, and the quality has went down year to year. It all came to a head last night when we ordered $ 100+ worth of food. After picking it up and driving 15 mins home we opened it up, only to find that it wasnt cooked. I called the restaurant to complain and was told that the«steam» ruined the food? When i asked why that didnt happen the other 15 times we ordered i was hung up on.” I called back only to be blamed for the«dropped» call. I was told since we didnt eat 90% of the food we would get $ 86 back. Once my brother brought back the hot garbage we were given he only got $ 30. I regret not going myself. So all in all if you want bad food and bad customer service this is your place, if not try the place on 23 and Card

Save your time, this is not a good restaurant. The service was terrible, the food was not good. Not the worst restaurant, but far from a good one. There are way better ones in the area. And cost $ 15 for one person.

Just got a carry out for some general tso chicken and it was the worst. My chicken was so dry and chewy I threw half my meal away. The sauce was okay but to mess up chicken when they had two customers in the building is outrageous. Don’t come here

Excellent meal as usual. We’ve been coming here for four years and always have had friendly service and good food. The wonton soup and egg rolls are delicious and I love their sweet and sour chicken. My husband says their lobster sauce and shrimp is one of the best he’s had. Big portions and always full when we leave or bringing some home. Highly recommend.

Used to go here pretty regularly for the general tso chicken. It was the best I’ve found in the area with large juicy chunks of chicken and a perfect thick spicy sauce. Now all i get is over cooked, dry, flavorless chunks of a meal i don’t care to finish. I used to love the wonton soup but now i get an old metal taste in the noodles whenever i eat them. Something’s gone bad with this place. The waitresses aren’t generally very friendly either. I still bring myself to try them now and again, but it always ends in disappointment

Started coming here when I was in junior high… about(OMG!!) 30 years ago. It was all the rage back then, really popular. It has been about five years since I was last here. I hate to leave a negative review because the staff was so nice and the woman(owner?) who ran the cash register 30 years ago is still here. However… It’s just not what it used to be. Ordered almond boneless chicken and it was not good. The gravy was dark gray. It tasted okay but it looked weird. I’m a visual person and it kind of killed my appetite a little. The egg drop was good. My egg roll was tiny and practically empty; one forkful of sprouts. The portion sizes overall(compared to what they used to give you and compared to what others in the area still give you) were small. I didn’t care for the chicken itself because I could taste the oil it was fried in. I’m not an oil connoisseur. I don’t know what kind it was, whether or not it was needing to be freshened up, or if I could just taste other foods that had been fried in the same fryer but it was just… off. I wanted to taste the chicken but with every bite the oil was the prominent flavor. Sadly, I probably won’t be coming back soon. Hopefully it was just an off night; it happens.

After hearing some news about the latest reviews of what has gone on, I had to check out the reviews myself — I am the nice gentleman that Rachael had referred to in her review. I cannot recall if she paid over the phone, but I know that it could not be a valid statement as her friend had come and paid for the order over credit card with me personally. I had double checked with him the name and the phone number of the order, to which he stated was correct and proceeded to hand me the credit card. However, this is the $ 107 order that was actually another customer’s order, and so when the intended customer came and told us her order, I had gone through the order slips and realized that the reviewer’s friend had bought the wrong order. Upon realization of this, I rushed the intended customer’s order. Just shortly after that, I received a call from a lady, whom I can now identify as Rachael. She was quite polite with me and was confused as to how the situation went down, as $ 107 is not something to scoff at. I began to explain that she could either keep the food and eat it, seeing as she had paid for it, or just call us back in a few hours to sort all this out. I gave her this option seeing as the holidays are our most ridiculous days for business as there are few places open and not everyone enjoys cooking on the holidays. But, she had stated that none of the food that she had purchased was anything that neither her nor her guests would want to eat. Upon hearing that, I stated if she would like, she could bring the purchased food up, I could make her order once more and edit the credit card to the correct amount. She did question why she should bring it back as the restaurant cannot serve it anymore, which I confirmed with her was a true statement, but I explained to her that it was just the manager’s policy. I did not get into the details, but management has experienced a handful of customers who have tried to take advantage of them because of their ancestry and being the first generation moving to America. The Managements’ experiences reside in having customers purposefully take the wrong order, though it has been checked with them that it is theirs, only to call back to try and get free food out of it, though management themselves have gone through the order with the person. Various other incidents don’t even include orders, they consist of threatening phone calls of supposedly shutting off the power because of an unpaid bill and that management should pay over the phone. But those are just a few examples to the policy that has been put in place because of a few customers trying to take advantage of management due to the stigma that Chinese restaurant owners are limited in their English, and out of that, I believe there are two things going on: One of fear, of being taken advantage of and in that being insulted of being ignorant or incompetent because of nationality/origin, and the other that there is a sad reality that people will try to take advantage of others. This is essentially the yellow truck red truck relationship.(Google that if necessary, that is «yellow truck red truck relationship» by Danny Silk). Nonetheless, after a few long, and possibly unnecessary paragraphs, let me carry on. Rachael had agreed to my last proposal. And though I cannot recall if they had brought back the food at that moment, I do recall handling the situation myself as I had a customer inform me that there were a pair of gentlemen up front as I was conversing with a few customers in the dining room. Upon reaching the front counter, I had asked if they had been helped yet, only to find it out it was Rachael’s husband and her husband’s friend, the gentleman that I had served. I went on to explain what had happened, though his friend did not speak up at all. The husband was quite polite towards me as I told him I could just void his $ 107 purchase seeing as he did not want his original order anymore. He told me I could keep the tip, but I honestly was not interested, though a $ 14 tip was quite generous(Granted, it was his friend who wrote it). This was seen and heard by the manager and she knew what I was doing. I honestly have no doubt in that seeing as I spoke it outloud and clearly that I was going to void the purchase. The last few things I can remember were that as the pair of gentlemen were leaving, the husband began to cuss out my manager, whom did storm out and repeated back to him what was spoken over her. Everything else from then on out is not something I can attest to. But what I can testify is what I have written, and I’m not here to bash neither Rachael, nor put anyone in a bad light, but to resolve and make peace, or at least give other readers a full story.

Something went horribly wrong! I’ve been here a few times and everytime i think maybe i just ordered the wrong thing, but no… everything on the menu was awful. Maybe back in the 80s this place may have been good, but avoid it and get your Chinese food elsewhere.

Really good food but eat in. The carry out does not do this place justice. When I eat in the best ABC and GTC in Sterling Heights!

New owners charged me a $ 1 extra for a plate. I should have just saved my appetizer Plate. Quality of food has diminished since new ownership took over.

I live literally down the street from tis place. The food is exactly what you expect and it’s hot and consistently good. I especially like the hot and sour soup and the fact I can get just about anything I want in Chinese food. I usually get carry out as I decide on my way home that Chinese is the order of the day. It’s not a place I would bring a date to, the atmosphere in the place as seen better days. The food is hot fresh accurate and ready quick so I can get home to eat and relax after a long clinical day!

Went here a few times for carry-out and sit down. Food usually tasted great. Did have a bad experience with the sesame chicken tasting chalky. However the way they handle was poor. no discount or new dish offered. pretty much ignored us. Sucks the service isn’t as great as the food.

Ok. My wife enjoyed her woo dip har. I ordered the shanghai noodles. Don’ t make the same mistake. Tasted like mrs. Grass. Also, cabbage in the egg rolls, when will they put the bean sprouts back in. Didn’t they think we would notice. They do serve alcohol at reasonable prices.

Wok Inn was so much better than expected. I have driven by this place probably hundreds of times. I’ve often said«we should try that place some time» usually while on my way to some other restaurant. I don’t often seek out this kind of americanized chinese food. but in the future, when I do, it will be here at Wok Inn. The food here was surprisingly fresh. The vegetables were still nicely crunchy, not raw but not overcooked. The chicken in both dishes I tried was moist white meat(both in stir fry format and in large fried format.) The general tso’s had large chunks of chicken that were surprisingly good. The wonton soup had generously filled tasty dumplings in a broth that was lacking the grease of most places. Even the hot mustard and plum sauce in bottles on the table were more flavorful than at most places This place was clean and decorated in mid-nineties asian style décor. The service was attentive.

I recently moved to the area and my family told me good things about this. A few weeks ago we got our first carry out and I was excited to find out they have vegetarian chicken, except they don’t. The first time they told me on the phone and in person that they didn’t have any(I assumed because it was lunch time or they actually ran out) so I got vegetable fantasy which was good but I still wanted the veggie chicken. Second time today we tried again and when I ordered on the phone they never said anything about not having veggie chicken so I assumed they had except once again, no chicken. I called back getting crap about the woman who I spoke to earlier«didn’t know what she was talking about» and«wrote it down wrong». I asked if they ever had it and they said no only tofu. I was pretty upset but they did give me a free half order of veggie springrolls but only because I had to twist their arm to get it. I will definitely be finding somewhere else to dine. If you don’t serve vegetarian chicken, why the hell is it on your menu and online? Please take it off.
