Delicious, top quality food! I can’t tell you how happy I am to have a vegan option restaurant on the east side! We came in for a late Saturday breakfast. The overall atmosphere is very warm with a surprising elegance; both not found often enough in this neighborhood. Kind and helpful staff, Ms. Mary even came over to ask if I wanted my hash browns cooked with oil(I said yes) The best multigrain pancakes I’ve ever had. My boyfriend said his biscuits and sausage gravy were«melt-in-your-mouth good» and it topped any other place that he’s been to. Don’t forget to treat yourself with a tall glass of fresh squeezed juice or a refreshing smoothie! It’s obvious there’s a lot of love that goes into every aspect of this restaurant and I highly applaud it. We can’t wait to come back for lunch, dinner, and anything else. Thanks again!

Clean good food with a huge menu, they do try real hard, putting fresh flowers on the table. Seems that they are still kind of new, and are learning on the go, but good smart people not slackers, attentive and nice. Good food good prices, perfect for breakfast of lunch.

This place has an identity problem. Is it fine dining or a Coney Island? It needs to pick one identity and embrace it. Bread basket came with ziploc’ed loaves. Baby grand piano in the corner. Also, the wait staff was nice but our server wouldn’t give us more than 10 seconds to decide what we wanted. This was further complicated by the fact that the menu is a novel. The food was average to subpar. Saganaki was delicious while my friends vegan grape leaves looked and tasted poor. It was like being in a twilight zone. If you’re looking for a funny adventurous experience, you’ll get one here. My friend and I have never laughed more at brunch/lunch then we did today!

This restaurant looks very nice on the inside, yet has some aspects of a family diner or Coney Island. Very confusing! The menu is very very long. They have Greek, Polish, Italian, American, and middle eastern food. Confusing again. I ordered the vegan grape leaves which were very big, poorly wrapped, and very very dry. The waitress made us uncomfortable coming back every minute multiple times until we decided on what to order and even stood at the table while we signed the check.

Awesome place, just went with some friends and as a vegan it’s always so hard to find something to eat. This place not only serves vegan food, but promotes it! It was awesome to be able to get a vegan quesadilla and even vegan sour cream to go on it, while my friends got burgers. The guy running the place is such a sweet heart and the waitress was great. I’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic restaurant ! The first time we went here, my wife and I thought that we would stop in for«just» a cup of coffee and relax after an afternoon of shopping thinking it was the same olé’ coffee joint that served coneys and fries. WOW were we surprised to walk in to see such fine décor, grand piano, cloth table tops and a rose on our table… Need I say more. At times, Ms Mary will even seat you to your table. Thank you Ms. Mary & Pete for a fine restaurant.

Ordered the vegan quesadilla. It was made with a whole wheat«tortilla». The bread had been sitting out for days; couldn’t cut it with a knife and the edges were especially dry yet rubbery. I ate it because I needed something or I was going to fall over, but I should have sent it back. My friends had ribs and salmon and they liked their dinners, which were generous portions. I brought home the house salad for my husband and he liked it. Perhaps my order was an anomaly. Staff was nice, friendly. Place looks nice, linens, napkins, water goblets — fine dining with a casual atmosphere.

I highly recommend! If you are looking for a nice restaurant with family prices, this is it. Don’t be afraid to dress up a bit when dining here — you will fit right in. I have arrived in suit and tie and felt right at home. The décor is upscale and nice. The entrance way puts you immediately in the dining area, with tables in the center of the main room, and booths along the walls and off to your right. The tall windows offer a great view of the outside. Each table or booth has white covering — either white table cloth or white paper. The settings on the table include cut flowers. A player grand piano over in the corner offers a nice touch and enhances the dining experience.(Check the many pictures posted on this site) They have an extensive main menu, with breakfast — lunch — supper meals and ala carte. Also, rotating weekly, they offer an additional themed menu, featuring meals from various countries. The wait staff is always dressed well, adding nicely to the upscale atmosphere. I have visited quite a few times in the recent months and always enjoyed my dining experience. As well, I have brought family and friends on most occasions.

Yes… the interior is nice. But let’s talk food. The menu is a bit overwhelming — what don’t they serve? I had a Greek omelet which was tasty. I liked the side of tzatziki sauce that came with it. The hash browns were average. My dining companion had a cuban sandwich. I felt sorry for him. The sandwich had no finesse. It was brought out with no condiments or sauce. After asking for ketchup and mayo, our server also brought out the sauce for the sandwich. It looked like Italian salad dressing to me. He was not impressed. That sandwich was as Cuban as the establishment’s name. The fries were even sadder… the crinkle cut was a sure tell that they were fresh from the freezer. The oily residue left over in my mouth after trying one, was enough for me to apologize for recommending the place. Service was slow but they were busy. Had to ask for the check and never got water refills. 2.5 stars… rounded to 3.

This place used to be some run of the mill Greek place which wasn’t too great. My family and I decided to try this restaurant yesterday. Upon entering it was obvious the interior was upgraded in a good way. The tables and tablecloths improved the look to a real restaurant. There were some things that appeared kind of «guilded lilly»…but in general, everything was quite nice. Our server was a nice young lady and her service was really great. We were first given two one page menus… one with the specials of the day(our day was Polish) and a Señor menu. Both of them had 7 — 10 items on them. The prices were really reasonable. Then we were given a HUGEDINERTYPE menu with hundreds of items. Of course my first thought is all this stuff is just frozen Gordon’s or Sysco heated up in a microwave. YUCK. So, my wife and I decided to order from the specials menus hoping that food would be fresh and to our liking. She ordered a Polish Combination plate and I ordered Meat Loaf from the Señor menu. My meat loaf was pretty blah, typical and nothing special. The mashed potatoes I got were really blasé’ and downright bad. The gravy was typical canned gravy. I also got soup with my meal, so I picked Minestone. It tasted like Campbells… not good. Look, the food isn’t terrible — it’s just nothing special at all. They fixed the place up, put in some new tables and added some specials — but the food is still typical diner food. I prefer fresh, wonderful food… this is not it. We probably won’t be back. It’s very very average.

If you ever ate at this location prior to it becoming Ms. Mary’s & Pete’s, you owe it to yourself to revisit and experience the upgrade, that’s all I’m sayin’, ;). If not, it’s still worth a visit. Very pleasant dining experience, totally redone interior, white linen tablecloths, player piano, carpeting and more. Has a real European café feel to it. Great looking, full menu while maintaining reasonable prices. Interesting and unique items like Croque Madame et Monsieur, Crème Brulee French Toast and where else can you get chicken & waffles on the eastside? Vegan, Gluten Free & Dairy Free selections available. Checkout their Facebook page!

What pleasant surprise! We had seen that the sign on the outside changed and didn’t really think anything of it. Then we went on Unilocal and saw this was a «Hot & New» place. Unilocal never lets us down! It looks like a typical family restaurant on the outside. Inside there is a very warm, clean, and inviting dining room. Full silverware settings on the tables, water glasses(not plastic tumblers!), and a cloth napkin! We went for breakfast and it did not disappoint! I had the crème brule french toast. It was SO good. It was 2 really good sizes piece of french toast(Not soggy!) with a yummy cream in the middle. It was topped with whipped cream and fresh berries. The Hubs had a western omelet. It was fluffy and filled with veggies, folded over, with really good swiss cheese. The coffee was great too. Their menu had so any choices for breakfast. Crepes, french toast, waffles, omelets, and skillets. The dinner menu looks just as good. The service was very nice, and our server had no problem offering suggestions when asked. We cannot wait to come back and hope they have much success!

Stopped here for breakfast, having seen a review but not realizing it was in the old Grand Dimitri’s space. The inside décor is very nice and a real upgrade from the old place. I had the homemade corned beef hash, which was chopped up slices of meat with great potato chunks and onions. I’m glad they could leave out the green peppers, I don’t like those in my hash. It was very tasty and well presented. There are a lot of other good-looking things on the menu, particularly for breakfast. Many of them are different than what you’d normally get at a family-style restaurant. The lunch and dinner menus are a little closer to a family-style place, but there are still some surprises and I’m guessing that they’re executed a little better than the average. It is a very big menu and everyone should be able to find something to eat, including vegans and people with gluten problems(those are marked on the menu along with dairy-free). They’ve only been open 3 months, but I hope to come back soon to try some of the other options, and also try them for lunch. It’s a very nice place.

Very good! Classing up a Coney Diner is a challenge but they executed beautifully with décor, properly labeled menus, and awesome flatware/plating. Square everything! Freshly squeezed juices are a plus and they have a huge menu, but almost too huge. My food was kind of bland and being vegan, a lot of sugars are non-vegan, so they need to double check that if they cater to it. I would definitely come back and try the rest of the menu! A much needed addition for this side of town.

My new favorite restaurant! The food is amazing and the menu is huge! You could eat here every day and never have the same thing twice. The atmosphere is so lovely with the grand piano and fresh flowers. The service is wonderful, with smiling faces and great recommendations.

FINALLY another good restaurant in our neighborhood! They even offer some vegan options. There aren’t enough gluten free items on the menu — just smoothies, but if you can eat anything they’ve got a wide range of menu items. It’s beautifully done inside with a player piano!
