My contractor had 16′ pressure treated deck boards delivered from John’s lumber. They really looked sad and they were filled with knots(about 10– 15 knots per board). My contractor specified that we wanted«premium» boards — but the sales guy at John’s told him that«premium» was just a marketing gimmick. When I called he gave me the same excuse. When I asked about the #2& #1 stamps on the boards — he just reiterated his stance. I then called Fingerle Lumber and asked about pressure treated premium boards — they gave me the real scoop and I ordered new boards from Fingerle. They are beautiful, and almost knot less. They are also stamped«premium». We returned the sad boards to John’s. Why 2 stars? Maybe the sales guy was just uneducated or new– benefit of the doubt. Note to John’s Lumber — the internet educates consumers — so they will know when you are b.s.-ing. Maybe the owner needs to get more involved in the day-to-day? This one little review will send at least a handful of potential customers elsewhere.
