We go to Green Lantern often, usually for carry out. Pepperoni & mushroom pizza plus an Italian sub is a staple in our household! Carry out is always fast and easy. I had a hankering for a burger last night but my husband and I are over the chain restaurants and the few other local places… so that led us to Green Lantern. Three of us dined in and ordered items other than pizza. Antipasto salad, soup, jalapeño poppers, a sub and the trash can burger. It felt wrong at first since GL has some of the best pizza but it was all delicious! Two downers from our dining experience last night: our server didn’t ask about/offer drink refills(I was chewing ice halfway through my meal since my water ran out and my husband’s beer was gone) and I had to ask 3 times for the side of ranch that I ordered with my burger originally. Next time we choose to dine in, I hope we’ll get more attention when it comes to those little things.

Green Lantern is no stranger to pizza perfection, and when the 15 Mile Road location opened, it was the greatest news, since it’s only a few miles from our house. The restaurant is very large, and can accommodate large gatherings, or game-day hanging out at the bar, with plenty of flat-screens.(They also have Keno, a nice bonus if you like to play…) They also have a wonderful, very large outdoor patio for seasonal dining. Their menu has a large selection of appetizers, soups, salads, wraps, burgers, and of course, pizza. Their Traditional(bone-in) wings are really the best I’ve had. Perfectly cooked every time, not rubbery, and just enough sauce. The fried pickles are also a hit!!! I know everyone has their own special taste in how chili should be made, but, for me… this is my favorite. Get it with the onions and cheese. Perfection. Not thick like a Coney Dog, more like a… hmmm, thinner, sweeter version of just great chili. You have to try it! If you’ve never had their pizza, you really can’t go wrong with whatever you order. It will be perfect. But… on to my BIGGEST compliment… I have been there many times, on many different occasions, and it’s usually busy,(yeah, because it’s awesome!)…, and no matter how stressful the situation is up at the front podium, the hostess or host always greets you with a calm demeanor(trust me, I’d have had a meltdown!), and they are so great! And the average age of the servers on the weekend is probably 18, and whomever is responsible for their training is doing an impeccable job! Our server yesterday, Gina, did such a great job, late on a Sunday, when she probably has to write a paper and other school-related things, and it was«service with a smile». I know that you cynics out there are probably saying, «Oh, she’s Gina’s mom/aunt…whatever». That’s not the case. This is my first Unilocal review, after calling Green Lantern, asking for the manager(Jennifer, who was most obliging and directed me to Unilocal), and doing it the«long way»…as my kids put it, «Mom, couldn’t you have just said you loved it? Done!» Lol.

Meh. It was alright at best. Got a deep dish and wasn’t very impressed, tasted kind of bland. However, their corned beef egg rolls are awesome!

Always do a take out, but the kids do eat in. Never a bad purchase on the best pizza ever. Sandwiches are on the mark, hot and tasteful. Always busy — always. So plan accordingly. Our takeout is pleasuring to us and to this point in time never a bad decision to go there. Our # 1 pizza go to. cheesy bread is beyond yum btw.

Was in the area and wanted to try a pizza place that was sit in and came across this on Unilocal.Came pretty early at 5pm, and was really shocked that the place was almost completely packed. They have a bar area and a sit in area. The menu has a nice selection of pizza, create your own or their signature ones. Sandwiches, burgers, salads, sides, soup, chili, appetizers. Came with my family so we wanted to try a variety of different items on the menu. Had a cup of chili, it was really good and hearty and not too salty. Nice bold flavour. Got a side of coleslaw for $ 1.50 and expected a small little cup for that price, but it was a plate full that could serve 4!!! There was a choice of the vinaigrette coleslaw or creamy. We tried the vinaigrette one and it has a nice tang, and crunchy. Got chicken wings(8) for $ 6.99 they were fairly small, so it was nice of the kitchen to serve 10 wings instead, and comes with carrots and celery on the side. Got a garden salad(small) $ 4.99 as this seemed very popular and everybody ordered one. It was really big and could serve 4 people. Fresh with veggies, cucumbers, onions, tomato, green pepper, olives. Lastly we got an extra large pizza, there is a choice between deep dish or regular, and square or round. Since we ordered so many dishes, we decided to not go with the deep dish and went with regular round. We got the Tommy’s tantalizing super special pizza which has cheese, pepperoni, ham, mushrooms and green peppers. They aren’t cheap on their toppings, and my favourite is when you bite into the pizza and there is so much cheese that it strings from your mouth to the pizza! Crust was perfect, not too thick and doughy. Their everything pizza looks crazy, so many toppings, and it’s piled on! Next time maybe we will take that challenge, and the later cheesy bread looks so good! Will definitely need to come back and try other foods on the menu. Only downside would be how busy this place gets, but waitress was still very attentive. Around 7pm the wait time for a table was about an hour and we came on a weekday! There is a small waiting area with a couple of arcade games. Didn’t get to take too many pictures as I totally forgot and was too eager to eat when the food came, so I got a snapshot of the pizza =D

My brother told me to try this place — they said better than Buddy’s and Jet’s(to some Jet’s may be common but when you live out of state and do not have it you truly miss it). Overall, I agree. The pizza was crispy and heavy with cheese; it wasn’t devoid of sauce like some places and it was well prepared. It was more than Jet’s but less than Buddy’s so it is a good deal. Jet’s can be a mixed result — depends on the location — so these guys are probably more reliable but I cannot give 5 stars off one visit when another competitor is cheaper and nearly the same in quality.

Friendly service. Great atmosphere. Antipasti salad(only thing that made this a four and not a five) average, but made up for by heavenly cheesy bread and fantastic pizza. Would highly recommend.

Not a bad pizza, and the sides were all pretty legit. They seemed really busy and I only ever hear good things. It’s a little loud inside, but nothing out of the ordinary for a pizza place.

Like the original only maybe better? I do love going to the original joint but this one has more stuff on the menu and is closer to home. Stopped by to check it out and the pies were prepared just like original so that was a blessing. Our server was great never had to wait for anything We will be coming back for sure

Love this place. It doesn’t necessarily seem like a hole in the wall pizza joint due to its more Saturday night bar look. But don’t be fooled, they’re cooking up some serious pies in there. I especially love the square with pepperoni. The pepperonis curl up and hold a little oil in them. Yum yum yum. Great for parties.

Good bar food, and good pizza. Definitely a cut above the norm. Nice place to catch a game, grab a beer, or sit down and have a good meal at a decent price.

My wife and I dine here often. The pizza is the best around. Salad us fantastic. Cheese bread like the pizza is the best around. We like to go here to watch the Red Wing games. Awesome experience, waitstaff is courteous but not too attentive.

We stopped here after a long drive and were starving! The service was very prompt and the food was delicious! We had breadsticks and one of the deep dish pizzas — my husband and I could only eat one slice and a half each! He had some tall beer that was only $ 3 dollars(he saw the sign when he went in the restroom right after we walked in). Totally recommend!

I have a new favorite pizza, I’m so sorry Jet’s. I don’t know what to say. I will still always love you and support you but woah this pizza is so good. Pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom is the way to go. WHYDOESLANOTHAVEDETROITPIZZAWHYWHYWHY???

The parking turn in is not obvious, due to the location between a stripmall/medical office and an apartment complex, and the confusing sign location. The building appears to be two story, but is instead very high ceilinged. Okay to good beer selection. The inside is pleasantly semi industrial pub. Polite, fast staff service. Good Detroit style pizza, pizza bread, and large, tasty, but not healthy salads. This is how Detroit area pizza should be eaten.

Great bbq chicken pizza, the breadsticks are great and the garlic butter on the side is what I imagine cholesterol would look like if it were a dipping sauce… also especially dig the pork wings, an appetizer thats small bone riblets on a stick that are slow cooked with a sweet chili sauce… Plus I hit for 410 on Keno twice there in a month, cha ching bada bing!

Green Lantern pizza is a good place to grab a pizza. They have great antipasto salads and the pizzas are pretty good. If you get here before it’s too late, the wait usually isn’t too bad, but it piles up quickly. One warning — this place is LOUD! The servers are very attentive and the food comes out pretty quickly, at least if you order a thin crust. I’ve only had the deep dish at the other location.

My friends and I come here for trivia. We like to eat. This place has great food. Definitely a step-up from our last trivia spot. The drinks are reasonable, and they have lots to chose from. The waitstaff is usually pretty good. Sometimes slow, and we have had a few waitresses that weren’t on the ball. But most are good. Also, the manager is hands-on. I have seen him busing tables, assisting the hostess and running food. I know they are known for the pizza, which is great, but I have ventured into the menu quite a bit and will list the best things I have tried so far. The Deep Fried Pickles… or Frickles as they call them. Whole pickle spears coated in some yummy panko breading. Very different from any other restaurant. The dipping sauce is great too. They serve like 8 of them, which is plenty to share. The Jalepeno Poppers. These are also way different than any other place I have tried them. They are wrapped in bacon, filled with cream cheese and come with a sauce that reminds me of hollindaise sauce. So delicious. Not sure if they are baked or broiled, but certainly not deep fried. Very good, and again enough to share, I think they give you 6 or 7. The Portabello wrap. This is a vegetarian option. They put Grilled Portabella Mushrooms, Diced Tomatoes, Greens, Red Onion, Red Peppers, Smoked Gouda Cheese, drizzled Balsamic Vinaigrette in a Garlic Herb Wrap. Very filling and satisfying option on the lighter side. The Little Boy Blue. Oh man. I love this sandwich. Very different. Website lists: Savory, Slow cooked medium rare Roast Beef, Blue Cheese, Roasted Red Peppers, Red Onion, Tomato, Romaine Lettuce, & Herb Mayo. Served on Grilled Naan bread. I love this sandwich and always take half home for lunch the next day. The Chili. I am so very picky about chili. I make awesome homemade chili, so it takes something special to make me crave it at a restaurant. It is very flavorful, not too spicy and has little chunks of tender steak. I am a huge fan. One thing I don’t care for here is the nachos. Greasy chips, dry and flavorless beef, cemented together with cheddar cheese. Messy and not that impressive. I can forgive this, since I have discovered so much here that I do like. Besides the wonderful food, I like the décor. It is a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. The bar area is perfect to watch the game, or head over to the dining room. There are still some TVs over there too, if you can’t miss a minute of the game! I have also noticed they have several huge parties, from retirement, to engagement, to birthday groups. The people always seem very pleased and often the dining room is packed even on a weeknight. Still, when it is busy we are taken care of quickly, and the food comes out within 10 – 15 minutes of ordering. This is what a casual dining establishment should be. I look forward to going each week and hope the service, quality of food and hospitality continue stay on par. Thanks for being awesome, Green Lantern!
