I forget this place exists, and then I remember and go nuts. Of course you have your bulk candy in every color, flavor and type, but also bulk snack mixes. Then spices, flour, you name it. Cake and cookie making/decorations also. The manager is always around stocking and people there are happy to help. I recommend stopping in. You will for sure find something you need at a good price, and also get a snack too:)

This place is so cool! So I really hate the name; Bulk Food. I’m thinking it’ like Costco and the quality of a dollar store market. But because of Unilocal,I decided to check this place out on my drive by. This is a store of every dried good imaginable. Contrary to the name, you do not need to buy in Bulk. Actually, if I want like 5 peanuts– I can get 5 peanuts. This is the deal– everything is in bins with a price per pound or oz and a code. You put what you want in a bag and then label the tie thingy with the code. So on to what is in this store: 1) All things nuts. I found de-shelled pistachios! 2) Cookies– you know the wafer I loved to get growing up– yup, it’s here. And the best thing is, I can get like only 5 vs a box etc. 3) Coffee and Tea. The Tea variety is awesome from loose leaf to baggies at around 25 cent a piece or less. I’m trying this Columbian coffee bean right now. 4) Dried Fruit– I would like a little more variety– but there is sugar and sugarless. 5) Rice, Flour, Spices !!! Sometimes, I only need a little bit of powder sugar and jimmy for my Mexican wedding cookies. This place rocks! 6) Lots of baked snacks per the pound 7) More candy than you can imagine 8) fresh ground peanut butter. I mean you can ground it yourself!!! 9) Pasta 10) Beans — lots of it. There are also Asian green/red beans that I no longer need to go to Madison heights for… I had to go, so I only spent like 15 minutes up and down the aisles, but I was in love already. I suggest you come get a snack, and check this place out!

Stocking up on my pot-o-gold today Much like their store on Harper Avenue in St. Clair Shores, this Bulk Food Marketplace has virtually the same layout. Nearly a third of the store is candy — all sorts of candy! Also along the aisles are other bulk foods, like dry cereals, baking supplies, coffees and teas, pie filling, spices, beans, dried fruits and nuts, pastas, etc. This is a gem of a place to stock up on bulk foods.
