Great place! Down to earth staff and fun people. We love the band it’s always place we count on for fun! Can’t wait for the Tiger Game bus trip! Thanks Connie for putting this together!

Well, When Shirley(other sister) was alive this place was nice to have a beer at. Now that Connie((other sister) is running since Shirley passed away, it has gone to poop. If you ever wish to learn how not to manage a bar and how to drive away customers, then just stop in here and watch Connie! Poor service. They add up your tab and it magically is always $ 3 to 5 over priced. If you do not catch it yourself, then they keep your coins! Not cool. A couple gray haired retired locals hang out at the end of the bar. They play pull tab Michigan lottery every 1 minute. So if you are thirsty or your beer glass is empty, you have to wait for bar staff to make sure these two locals are cashed out on lottery then you can get a beer. Unreal. While I was there two other people complained and that made me think twice about returning too. I do not know how night time is. I was there day time. Perhaps when the wicked witch Connie is at home maybe you can be treated ok in this bar. I do not know and am not going to try and find out. It is not worth my time anymore. It is too bad sister Shirley passed away, it really was a nice place when she was alive.

Doin’ the Gratiot cruise yesterday. I needed to stop in and let my hot-wheels cool off a bit, so I snuck in around back and was directed to a parking spot by their security. No charge. I performed the hasty repair to my car and then took a walk among the rest of the classic cars parked in their lot, snapping pictures along the way. You couldn’t help but notice the band set-up along the outside of the building and they were belting out the tunes to an enthusiastic crowd! Well, the wheels finally cooled off and it was time for some more cruisin’. Thanx Alibi!

What a local bar SHOULD be. So, it’s Cheers, like the show on TV, everybody knows everyone elses name, except mine because i’d never been here before now. Mind you, this place is perhaps the grand master of old school blue collar bars and everyone in here has been coming here a minimum of a decade and most I spoke to had 20+ years under their belt coming here. Everyone was a good 10 years older than I was and everyone was a couple. HINT: this is not a pickup joint. The staff is as friendly as anyone could hope to find in a diner in the deep south and the hospitality was unwavering. Everyone seems to want to know who you are and makes conversation easily. Nothing stand-offish about this place, please disregard the sign that says ‘no colors’ on the door on the way in. They had a live country band on Friday and they were doing everything from every era and they were very good at it. They even asked me for some requests! So I get a tall draft Bud that was in the $ 2-$ 3 range and order a Half Pound Patty Melt. I should have taken a picture of it but I was so hungry that I wolfed it down on first sight. Sauteed onion, cheddar cheese and a thick lovely bread that held together despite the moist mammoth beef patty hanging out of the sides. I couldn’t have made a better one myself. Did I mention that it was $ 5?!! Bye bye Burger King.
