I came here really wanting to like this place because it has such fabulous reviews here on Unilocal and elsewhere, and I am a big fan of Richfield’s IG feed. Alas, I left here feeling somewhat disappointed. I stopped in looking for a couple of containers of dwarf pampas grass to fill in a corner of my yard, along with a couple of other items. When I first walked in, there was a cute area that had some local food items, such as bee pollen, honey, asparagus, and berries. They also have an area in the back with free range chickens, which is be nice for kids. They had a selection of perennials, annuals, shrubs, herbs, and trees. The selection of grasses was very slim. I had asked someone where their ornamental grasses are located and I got a curt response. I ended up doing some digging behind some shrubs(not where she said they were) and found two of what I came to buy. Very few of the items are marked with a price. When I got to the register, I had sticker shock. The price was considerably more than what I pay at Condurso’s or Orange Garden Center, by about $ 15 per container. I should have put them back but I had been to two other stores earlier this week and they didn’t have what I needed. Admittedly, I wanted to put this errand behind me. On the positive side, Richfield does have some plants that others may not have in the immediate area like liatris, some varieties of milkweed, or unusual herbs. On the negative side, I wasn’t impressed with the customer service, pricing or haphazard way some items for sale were«organized». I will not be be a repeat customer.

Great selection of shrubs and plants for landscaping. I particularly like coming here in the summer for their homegrown veggies and fruits. The tomatoes are excellent. Great local business.

My family and I went to Richfield Farms specifically for the year round petting zoo as advertised on their website. When we got there a manager directed us to the petting zoo. Upon walking on the far right side and to the back of the farm down the path through puddles and mud we were disappointed to find the farm animals(chickens, rabbits, 2 donkeys, and 1 pig) locked in cages that read«we bite» and«do not open cages». In addition, there were no employees tending to the animals or present to assist us with the«petting zoo». In the end we decided to visit another petting zoo 20 minutes north of Richfield and had a wonderful experience. Needless to say, I do not recommend any family to visit the Richfield Farms«year round petting zoo», as advertised on their website.

There are a bunch of garden centers around here, but your first visit to Richfield Farms immediately makes it clear that it’s the only serious one. The acreage alone would make them the best. If I have a specific plant in mind, I don’t bother looking anywhere else. Mighty busy on spring weekends.

We went early in the season and found a great selection of heirloom seeds, seedling starters, organic soil, and pretty much anything else you could need. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they even deliver your soil right to your car so you don’t have to lug in there yourself. I’ll definitely be coming back later in the season to see what else they have in store.

Right upon walking into Richfield Farms, I knew that this place is the best garden center in the area. The selection of shrubs, vegetable plans and annuals can’t be beat. The staff is really helpful and knowledgeable. We worked with Ray, who helped us find some shrubs well suited to our backyard project. For such a great selection and staff, you would expect that their prices would be higher than other local destinations — not the case at all. The only two areas where it seemed like they maybe didn’t have the best selection was indoor plants, and perennials. They also only have a small parking lot, so you will probably end up parking on the street on busy weekends. If you go with kids, be sure to take your kids to meet the Sicilian Miniature Donkeys!

Really like this garden center. They have a great selection. We’ve planted trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals from them, and we’re very satisfied. In particular we should mention the help and advice from Ray.
