Clifton Wine Shop & Tasting Room

This place is fantastic! I particuarly enjoy the «not so» popular lables and discovering new wines. You can spend as much or as little as you would like. Lucinda goes out of her way to make you feel like you’re the only one in the store. I highly recommend this adventure!

Best place in the area to learn about, taste, and purchase wine. Thoughtfully curated selection of wines from around the world. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and generous proprietor and staff. Every time we come here, we walk out with a couple bottles, and a richer understanding of what we’re drinking.

This place has the NICEST staff you will ever meet and all of them know so much about wine. My mom is a member of the wine club and we have always been impressed with the selection we receive every month. They carry a wide range of wines I would have never heard of of it wasn’t for this store (they have a mango moscato there that actually is a staple in my family now, we buy if by the case). They also carry these delicious chocolate bars with coffee beans in them that I always end up buying because they’re hard to resist. If you want to learn something new and try some new wines, this is the place to go.

Friendly atmosphere awaits at the Clifton Wine Shop! The staff are very knowledgeable about their products. Unlike a winery, this shop sells wine from around the country and Europe. Though the selection is significantly smaller than a superstore like Total Wine, the selection is really good. It is highly unlikely that you will find something unpleasing here as they hand select every offering. There is a tasting bar that changes frequently. A membership in the wine club gets you two bottles a month of either white or red or one of each which is a nice way to try out things you might not otherwise purchase. The membership also is a good way to get out of the rut of having the same usual wines from a local winery.

Great little wine shop. The owner gave us a free tasting of three red wines, different varietals from CA, Spain, and S. Africa. Each was unique and delicious. The owner was very friendly and personable. We would happily return when we are in Clifton again.

I love the town of Clifton, and this wine shop and tasting room is fantastic. I spoke with the owner briefly, and his son (I believe) who was also working. They were friendly and knowledgeable. They offer a very interesting, unique wine selection, which I appreciate.
I didn’t leave with any wine, but I did get a cigar that I ended up loving. However, I will be back to pick up wine.

So glad I listened to the Unilocal reviews and brought my girlfriend here. We walked in and at first glance you wonder what a small old town shop like this can offer, well I’ll go ash was and tell you — a lot!
FREE wine tastings?! I thought he was kidding, but he wasn’t. We tasted around six wines with no charge.
Staff is personable and knowledgable, they felt like friends and not salesmen which I enjoyed.
Very well put together, a large selection ranging from inexpensive to expensive. It is all arranged well so that you do not feel overwhelmed.
They have wine crackers. And don’t charge you! You can also sample several different olive oils (think eating with bread /​crackers)
Overall we were really impressed with the operation and great selection of imported wine. We went to paradise springs winery previously and that place is a joke compared to Clifton wine. Clifton wine has better prices and selection; all paradise springs has is a larger and nicer venue.
Anyway give it a shot you won’t regret it, you’ll even save 10% if you check-​in with Unilocal — we did!

Went for the first time this weekend, after the local winery closed early. We had tasted two expensive glasses at the winery and happened upon the wine shop with a sign that there were tastings so we stopped in.
The gentleman pouring the wine was very knowledgeable and taught us a great deal about the 3 wines we tried from Argentina. All 3 wines were far superior to the wine we had at the winery so we ended up buying all 3. We sat for a little longer asking a few questions and they had us try 2 other wines for comparison sake, all of which were very good.
Only wish they sold glasses of wine so I could stay longer. Extremely pleasant experience and we will certainly stop in the next time we are in town to try/​buy their newest recommendations. The Cabernet was our favorite but all 3 were great.

Lucinda and her staff are very knowledgeable. I’ve always been helped with a smile and great conversation! The Monthly Wine Club is quite fun to be a part of! I originally chose the 1 Red/​1 White but have now switched to 2 Reds as my Monthly Wine Club selections. Lucinda always has copious tasting notes that accompany the Month’s selections! I highly recommend visiting and I believe they also carry some great cigars in a well humidified humidor! Padrons, Tatuajes and more!

Clifton Wine Shop is adorable! They renovated from the last time I was here and their new space is nice. It’s bigger but still very inviting.
The staff at the Clifton Wine Shop is friendly and helpful. They made great recommendations for beer and of course convinced us to participate in their free wine tasting. It’s a decent wine tasting too. They offer a sampling of different reds and whites and a sparkling wine since it’s now holiday time. They have some hard to find wines at decent prices well.
In addition to beer and wine, they also sell coffee and specialty olive oils. It’s definitely worth the visit when stopping in Clifton.

So great! We stopped here today on a whim and will definitely be back. The shop is small but has a huge variety of wine. It’s very pleasant inside with lots of light and wine everywhere! We told the owner our tastes and she recommended some wine she thought we’d both like. She also did a tasting for us — free! We left with 6 bottles of very good wine (none over $ 20).

Perfect place to grab a couple of last minute bottles of wine for a party!
Ginormous selection of wines and even chocolates! The store its self is beautifully decorated and there is even an ultra modern wine fridge! I also love the staircase walking up to the store. Even the contrast between the wood floors and beams is chic too! It is always ice cold in the store and it feels amazing against the heat of the summer. Be sure to join the wine club and It is very reasonably priced given the area!

What a wonderful little wine shop!
My husband and I were in the area yesterday and couldn’t find parking at a local winery so took to Unilocal and found this gem.
We wandered around for a bit and then the owner asked our preferences and gave us a tasting with a little bit of knowledge of each wine.
I was extremely impressed with the selection and price points; there is something for everyone here that is for sure! We walked away with several bottles and a few new favorites.
Aside from wine, they also offer high end olive oils, chocolates, some craft beers, cigars and a various assortment of wine related kitsch.

Bull run and paradise springs winery’s were closed so tried this place. So much better than expected.
Cute little town. Free tasting. And when they ran out I suggested that I liked sweet wines and not only did they replace it with one I absolutely loved just for me but it was only $ 10!
Super nice ladies there. Will def go again!

Fun little shop with lots of character and a good selection of wines (a handful of interesting beers, too).
Put your name in their system and they will keep track of your purchases — handy for when you don’t recall the name of that spectacular red you bought and loved so much last time!

Love to visit Lucinda and her great selection of wines and great educational and tasting experience. A Must stop on way back from Paradise Winery or in the Clifton area!

This is a beautiful wine shop with an excellent selection. The proprietor Lucinda and her staff are very knowledgeable about wine and they also sell an awesome pepper relish made by a local resident of Clifton. Lucinda is also now carrying a selection of beer.

The little town of Clifton has 2 places that we frequent (Main Street Grill and Trummers). It’s a great little town. We got married at the Presbyterian Church and had our reception at Hermitage Inn (now Trummers). So, we are drawn to this quaint little town.
This was our first time here at this cute little shop. There is a tiny tasty bar (3 seats). The owner (assuming she is the owner) was an awesome host. She offered tastings, was readily available for questions, and knew her wine! We enjoyed the tastings (free), and the great accessories. She also has very yummy macaroons, cookies, and fresh olive oil.
Looking forward to coming back!

I love this place. It’s quaint, cozy, and stocked with good wine. Lucinda is great. She helped me order some of my favorite South African wine that I hadn’t been able to find in the area, as well as pick out some great selections from California. The wine tastings are informative, laid back, and fun. I appreciate that for a small shop, it has a good selection of wine that’s high quality and fairly priced. I’d go here any day over Total Wine or some of the bigger stores. It’s nice to be able to support a local business that really delivers on quality and selection.

I was in Clifton for the Car Show on Labor day and discovered this place.
My main goal was to find some local Virginia wines.
Unfortunately they didn’t have a very large selection of Virginia Wines.
They had Veritas and Paradise Springs Winery selections.
I was very keen on the Paraside Springs wine since it’s the only winery
in Fairfax county and is just outside Clifton.
They had only white wines and I’m a red wine drinker.
I understand their Chardonnay is quite good if you’re so inclined.
I’ll go back from time to time and check to see if they have any local red’s.
