Delicious food and great customer service at reasonable prices. Enjoy having lunch here.

Perfect. Arrived for an early lunch with a child, so as to not disrupt everyone else. Waitstaff was very attentive, even as the dining room filled up. Pasta was fresh made. Beer and wine selection perfectly matched. Food arrived with what reminded us of pretzel bread, which was amazing and topped with coarse salt and tender and delicious. Steak quesadila was full of tender meat. Great meal. Great restaurant. Would love to return.

The apple salad was delightful and savory with the small bits of bacon ! The bread was the amazingly fresh it had a chewy crust with a little salt on it. Omg winner ! Vegetable soup was a honest good soup with a home made taste. The sandwich was good and satisfying. Service was fair however the food was better!

If I had to sum up Warfields in a few words I would call it «comfort food kicked up a notch» I had heard about it for years but never made my way to Clifton Springs until recently and this place puts most of the best restaurants in Rochester to shame. True excellence in every regard from the initial greeting from the hostess to the waitstaff, to the food and dessert. A friend and I got here around 6 on a thursday evening and it was pretty empty but not surprising for a tiny lil town. I try to check menus out before I go to new restaurants and knew that I would find something to eat here(I have very narrow food tastes and don’t eat seafood or anything overly spiced or too fancy). The menu here is perfect, consisting of what I would call American comfort food but of a higher quality than you would expect. Nothing pretentious, frilly, or trendy, but tried and true standard dishes with an element of the unexpected and enhanced flavors textures and fine preparation. The bread service: warm, fresh, 4 different styles of butters Garden Salad: fresh greens, perfect dressing For an entrée(hard decision) I wound up getting the breaded porterhouse pork chop: one of the best chops Ive ever eaten. The crust on the porkchop, the mustard sauce, the risotto, all soooo good. I limited myself to only half of it to save room for dessert Apple crisp a la mode: sweet, decadent, luxurious. you get the idea If I had to point out any negative to this place I can’t say Id recommend the fried chicken dish which I tasted. Way too much breading and not much flavor to the meat itself, more grease if anything. But Id be surprised if a place like this could pull off a perfect fried chicken. In any event, this place is absolutely worth the trip out to clifton springs

All I can say is ditto to everything Liz B. wrote on her review yesterday. We are from Albany and happened to be in the palmyra area and ended up looking for a good meal. Warfield’s exceeded expectations. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was comfortable(even with my 1 year old baby), and the service staff was flawless. Our meal included the following– Appetizer: calamari, chorizo empanadas. Both were very tasty Entrees: two of us got the smoked prime rib(medium rare). It won’t disappoint. My mother got the pumpkin bisque(sweeter than expected but she ate it all) My wife got the rock shrimp pasta with garlic sauce and spinach(so delicious) The baby had a mix of all the above in very small bits(most of it ended up on the floor and nobody made me feel guilty about it) Dessert: pecan pie with ice cream and a scone. Then you get the most delicious chocolate truffle at the end of your meal with carmel and raspberry salt on top. Holy crap I could have eaten my weight in them. I ended up buying a dozen to take home for only $ 5. I don’t know what the whole meal cost as my dad happily paid the bill for us all but I imagine it was between $ 110 – 140. Just food. We don’t drink. If you’re anywhere near this place and want a great meal/experience, you must go. They’re open quite late on Saturday as we got there at 8 pm and it was about half full. They close at 9 but they didn’t try to shove us out the door when we were finished. Quite the opposite actually. Our server was Lindsey, and she was very polite, attentive, and suggested great options. She mentioned that the shrimp pasta dish was her personal fave, so my wife ordered it and was delighted. After dinner the manager Jess started chatting with us, and we ended up talking with her for about 30 minutes. She was absolutely lovely and the restaurant is clearly in good hands. The chefs change the menu 4 times per year and they really strive to create excellent and interesting dishes. I don’t go to the area often… but when I do, I’ll be coming back! Now I have one more reason to head out there. I hope this review helps the business, and helps people make the decision to go here. Great place! Three thumbs up! Skyler.

Went for lunch had a good size party our meals came in waves so by the time I was able to eat mine it was warm not hot as I find it rude to eat while others wait for their meal. The food was decent, my issue is with the service. I have dined in true fine dining restaurants and the service was more along the line of Applebee’s . Sure you get what you order, but no above and beyond and super star service. They could improve the wow experience of the wait staff. There is also a terrible smell like old laundry that permiated the air. I assume the bathroom air freshener however if you have asthma bring your inhaler!

Our night at Warfield’s was the result of the ABSOLUTE best food and service we have experienced in so many years! This is not the stuffy & stilted version of Warfield’s from previous years. This is delicious, well balanced & carefully prepared food served by an excellent service team with a relaxed sophistication. The legacy of Warfield’s Restaurant and Bakery rests on the shoulders of those who are CLEARLY capable of not only taking great care to ensure its reputation now, but to lead it successfully into the future. We are SO impressed! Thank you Jody, Chef Phil, Hunman, Melissa, Lindsey, Diane for such a flawless evening, from beginning to end…

«Oversalting» 2 of 5 starsReviewed October 4, 2015NEW This has been an exceptional restaurant in the past with great service and ambiance and fine food which was always worth the drive from Rochester. However, our last meal last was very disappointing. The bread, which is outstanding, was over salted with chunks of salt on the crust. Worst of all were the prime ribs and Korean short ribs that were beautifully presented, but totally over salted and almost inedible. Also, my prime rib cut was much smaller than the guest next to me, and the wedge salad that came to the table was chopped lettuce instead of a wedge. My Caesar salad had too much lemon, little garlic, and did not taste like Caesar salad. When we complained to the staff about the over salting of the main dishes, we were not asked if we would like something else or given a reduction of the bill. The response was that the message would be conveyed to the chef. All we received as compensation was a loaf of bread, which was excellent, except of course for the over salting which I scraped off when I got home. Visited October 2015

Excellent meal, had the pasta/shrimp/feta cheese, my wife had the veal saltimbocca, appetizers of Maytag blue cheese wedge lettuce, and tempura crab zucchini blossoms. All were great, great wine, healthy pours, nice beer selection, reasonably priced. Beautiful outdoor garden patio. Was staying at B&B in Waterloo, and innkeepers recommended it to us. Only disappointment was we picked the weekend that there was no entertainment. Really a great place!

This pleasant Friday evening we stopped into Warfield’s for dessert and after-dinner drinks. We were promptly seated in the garden area upon request. We were not, however, warned that there was very loud singing(basically a bad form of karaōke– think covers of badly rehearsed Jamaican songs and something they described as «redneck») going on. The music was so loud that we could barely hear each other. Not only that, but the music was not something that we would expect from an establishment that seems to be hoping to portray a somewhat upscale atmosphere. We were willing to overlook the music, though. Unfortunately, the night only got worse from there. It took ten minutes to see a waitress. Ten more to get our water. Once we placed our dessert orders, we got our drinks. It took twenty minutes to receive our desserts, regardless of the fact that two of them were sorbet that simply needed to be scooped from the freezer. Once the dessert did arrive, only three of the four came out, and one was incorrect. One of the sorbets was already completely melted. When we asked very nicely to return it for cold sorbet, the waitress rudely scoffed and said, «Sure, I guess.» The remainder of the desserts arrived(without spoons) and they tasted great(hence the generous two stars). The bad music and rude waitressing continued. This was an extremely subpar experience and I’m not sure we’ll ever come back after this.(By the way, it’s been another 15 minutes since we asked for the check, and it still hasn’t come. Side note– the dining room isn’t even close to being at capacity.) We feel like we’re at a cheap dive bar. Why were there so many drunk dancing ladies? Why were there child small children running around with sparklers? Why?

After taking a bike ride, I decided to have lunch here. I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. The dressing was tasty, but a bit sparse. The croutons were also tasty as was the chicken. With the salad, a couple slices of bread was given. It was rather tough though. All together it wasn’t anything special, but then again, it was just a chicken salad.

Went here for my twentieth anniversary. Found the place through Google so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It turned out to be great! The wine prices were good. The food was great. I had the strawberry salad along with six large bluepoint oysters topped three different ways. Delicious bread with six different spreads. And for the main I had the shrimp and she had the salmon topped with crab. Everything was great! I had plans for dessert but no room at the end. They did give us a couple chocolates with salted caramel(homemade) That were fabulous. Barbara ask if she could buy some. The chef sent us out 1 for each of our twenty years at no charge! A very nice touch to a very great dinner. I can’t wait to get back. Please take my word for it and go here as soon as you can.

I have had several stellar dinners here and two outstanding lunches. You have an incredibly beautiful historic locale — I especially like the sparkling towering windows that create the front of the restaurant. Then consider the amazing bakery: don’t miss the pizza bianca bread(salty oiled ciabatta) which is addictive. When you sit down to eat you are assured a friendly and attentive server, a menu that manages to be classic and inventive. Their food always exceeds expectations, draws on seasonal ingredients locally sourced, and fresher than fresh. Dinner is a memorable event, they even have a flambé cart. But I love lunch when you can get filled up with creative may food for under $ 10 then splurge at the bakery counter. I love Warfield’s. I go whenever I can — usually on my way to or from the Waterloo Outlets or Seneca Wine Trail. You need to get there.

Does anyone read these reviews? If they do they are going to get a dose of MOREWARFIELDS. If you ever get out to this place be sure to say hello to Jon Cotterman, the manager/bar tender/sommelier. He is super knowledgeable and helpful. Last night we told him we were looking for new Pinot Noir experience then gave him a price point. He thought then brought us a bottle of Beau Frere 2007 which opened beautifully over the course of the meal. Unsure if I will order it again right away but still we were delighted to have a chance to taste it in the perect setting. Oh, did you want to ask about the food? Lots of local ingredients and the kitchen knows what to do them. Barbara gave high marks to her polenta and swisschard entrée. For myself the lamb shank ragout was rich and tasty. It paired beautifully with the Pinot. Really isn’t that everything you can want from a night out on a sleepy American main street?

In town visiting for the day. Warfield’s was recommended by the keeper of the B&B we were staying at. Since we already had dinner plans we decided to try it for lunch. We’re glad we did. The club sandwich I had was excellent. My wife’s egg salad sandwich average but the sweet potato soup with peanuts was outrageous! Service was very friendly and professional. There is also a small bakery section on the way out with mostly cookies… yum!
