I have had really great experiences here and I love the food. We normally eat here about once a month but the last few times I have been here the service has been awful. Today we went here for my Wife’s birthday and were seated in a nearly empty restaurant before six. We ordered an appetizer right after we sat down and entrees a few minutes later. We didn’t get our appetizer for 45 minutes and waited another half hour for our entrees all the while our waitress never checked in on us to see if we wanted more drinks. We had similar service the last time we ate here so it seems to be a more general problem with the waitstaff. Aside from service this would be my favorite restaurant in the area but the service is so bad I don’t want to go back.

Fantastic experience every time. The appetizer and entrees always offer a lot of creative choices and everything is prepared to perfection.(Pasta, fish, steak, lamb – all delicious.) Good selection of beers, craft brews, cocktails, and wines. Rocco’s has become our go-to place for celebrations and whenever we want to have a really nice meal out. It’s not dirt cheap but not outrageous because the food is always so good. For the money, we feel we always get a much better meal than at similarly priced restaurants in Saratoga Springs.

One of the best restaurants in the capital district! Great atmosphere, very accommodating staff and most of all the food is top quality and delicious. From the moment you first walk in you feel at home in a warm and welcoming environment. Highly recommended!

I LOVE this place! It’s such a cute restaurant in such an unexpected area. My husband and I went here for dinner on a Friday around 8, and we were seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgable of the menu. We started with two appetizers: the Arancini and some type of breaded cheese item with spicy sauce. Both were orgasmic! I especially love the tomato sauce on the Arancini… my favorite!!! For our dinners, I had the Orrichiette Rustica and my husband had the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Amazing, I tell you! The light, buttery sauce on the Orrichiette Rustica made me feel all warm inside. My husband really enjoyed his Lobster Mac and Cheese. He said he was pleased with the amount of Lobster he received. For desert, we shared the apple desert. It was the perfect ending:) Rocco’s may not be a place you can afford every day of the week, but I highly suggest you check it out:)

I just ate at Rocco’s for the second time this evening and both times I’ve left feeling like I’ve been a little taken advantage of financially. The food is good, no better than other places I’ve eaten in the area, but for the area it’s a bit expensive. Last time it was $ 12 for a bowl of pumpkin soup and this time it was $ 42 for veal parmesan. The atmosphere is noisy, the last time I went the a/c was on and the vent was right by my table and nothing could be done about the temperature. It wasn’t as if it was the height of summer, it was October. I think there are places in the area with the same quality food, for better prices, where you can visit with your companions without yelling at them.

Service and convenient location was a huge plus! Reservation for 7:15 and table for the four of us was ready right on time. Wheelchair accessible with plenty of room. Server was extremely attentive but not rushed. Cocktails were well made and ample. Menu was very nicely put together with plenty of selections and specials. Had 4 different entrees and only 1 was sub par. Mine! Sole Oreganato was a dry but everyone else was pleased. Nice desserts to finish it off. Try it out!

We moved to Clifton Park this summer and I drive by Rocco’s frequently. My wife and I had dinner. Can’t remember exactly what we ate. I do remember it wasn’t that good but was very expensive. We didn’t get sick, so I rated it 2 stars instead of 1.

This place was awesome. I had the fish special of the day, trout-esk fish with risotto, and it was the best fish dish I’ve ever had. It’s pretty pricy here without a lot of «bang for your buck» but the food was delicious and they had complimentary brownies they brought out with the check that were very simple, but rich, and the Rosemary olive oil bread they brought out to the table tasted like homemade bread, a true weakness. We went on a Friday night and it was VERY loud. Like starting to lose my voice loud. They only have one bathroom, and it’s very crowded for the space. But, the food is great. Great spot for a date night or a group of 4. I wouldn’t consider this place to accommodate large groups well unless you rented it out. Give it a try!

Had dinner at Rocco’s tonight. Was very happily surprised. After having lived in the south of France for 10 years and now moved to Clifton Park, this restaurant reminded me of France with its French Bistro style décor and ambiance. The food was great, the service also impeccable and all in all, a very wonderful experience! This will become my regular !

My first time there and I can’t wait to go back. I went with my friend who had a living social special. We had a wonderful table up front. The waiter was gracious and attentive. The food was delicious. I started with a chopped salad, just extraordinary. Beautifully chopped greens bursting with so many flavors. I had one piece of the delicious bread, it tasted deliciously seasoned with herbs. I ordered the crab meat stuffed sole, it had this delicious lemony sauce and came with this sweet potato hash in the center that was just superb. The presentation of both the entrée and the salad was just beautiful and the portions were just right. The dessert was tiramisu which was surprisingly addictive. Only wanted one bite ended up eating a bit more. Just a wonderful dinner and every superlative in my review was well deserved. Yum, yum, yum, as I said I can’t wait to go back.

My husband surprised me with dinner here on a Saturday night. Though far from the hustle and bustle of the city, don’t be fooled, it was quite busy and you should definitely call ahead for a reservation. The building looks rich in character with hardwood floors distressed by years of wear and tear. The lighting fixtures were almost a piece of art in their own right. We were seated at a table covered with a white linen tablecloth adorned with fresh flowers and a candle. Quite the nice touch. They also have bar seating available for those of you on the go or looking for something more casual. For our app we started out with the mussels topped with smoked tuna and served with the frites. This dish was a miss for me, it was one of the specials which was described as mussels with a buttermilk pesto sauce. There was definitely no pesto and the mussels were ovecooked and drowned out by the smoked tuna. I couldn’t resist a salad with whom I share a nickname so I ordered the Chop Chop Salad. The bacon, tomato, blue cheese, avocado, and roasted walnuts were delicious with the strawberry vinaigrette dressing. The only thing it suffered from was overdressing syndrome, my tip would be ask for it on the side or reduce what they would typically put on by 50%. For the main course we ordered the orichiette de Rocco’s which had sausage, sun dried tomatoes and broccoli rabe. It was a little salty for my taste but good. The star of the show was my crab stuffed sole. It was served with a sweet potato hash, spinach over a lemon based sauce that could only be described as enchanting. For the level of charm and service I thought it was very reasonably priced and makes a lovely date night or special occasion.

Four of us for dinner on a Friday night. I was looking forward to dining here because I live in Clifton Park and outside of the too many incarnations of Italian themed and assorted fast food restaurants there isn’t much here. The ambience at Rocco’s is very inviting. They did a nice job keeping the old country store feel while transforming it into an upscale, modern space. Nice bar area and assortment of craft drafts on tap. We started with some very well made cocktails. I ordered a Rocco’s Mule. Great drink composed with Tito’s vodka, lime juice and ginger beer. The other standout cocktail was the blueberry mojito. Hint of muddled blueberry along with the mint was perfect. Fresh bread and focaccia with herb butter was promptly delivered by our waitress. For apps the four of us shared the crab cakes and calamari. Crab cakes were very good with an abundance of crab and spicy remoulade. The portion was perfect for sharing as a starter. The fried calamari was also well prepared. I generally avoid it due to the grease factor you usually encounter with this dish but my friend is a big fan so I obliged. Glad I did. Baby calamari, lightly floured, crispy with a dash of sea salt. Squeeze of lemon was all that was needed. Very nice. For entrees we ordered the rack of lamb, red snapper special, Frutti Di Mare, and soft shell crab served over a broccoli slaw. The latter was being offered that evening as an app special. I asked the waitress if they would provide this as an entrée portion by adding a crab and they were happy to do so. The entrees were all nicely presented but a mixed bag as far as preparation with the pasta dish being overly salty and the lamb cooked well beyond the requested medium rare. The soft shells are a favorite of mine and these were really good but the broccoli slaw could of used a bit more kick to make the dish really interesting. Service was excellent and management deducted half the cost of the pasta entrée which was not expected. Dinner for four was $ 240 including a round of cocktails, a bottle of wine and the tip. Rocco’s is a welcome addition to the rather stale dining scene in Clifton Park. Some fine tuning needed here and there however in order to bump this place up a notch and keep me from having to drive up to Saratoga.

At there for the 3RD time this weekend! Never a disappointing experience at Rocco’s! The food, staff & décor are ONPOINT! Had the filet this time & i will say this is the best filet I have ever had at a restaurant! Dessert was a peanut butter mouse… perfection! I am not big on going to the same place over & over but Rocco’s will be my go to spot!!!

I purchased a living social coupon for $ 65 which included 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 glasses of house wine and 1 dessert– good deal right? So I made my reservations early in the week and requested a table by the front windows as this restaurant is small and crowded and they are the best seats in the house. We arrived promptly and were seated by a hostess who had little personality and bordered on dismissive. We were not at one of the tables I had requested and when questioned she said it was reserved … Excuse me but my table was reserved as well. Ok not a huge deal but when I made the reservation I should have been informed of that and I would have been fine with it. No big deal until 2 larger patrons attempted to squeeze into the table behind me and actually were sitting inches away from me and kept bumping into me or my chair for the entire meal. Water had to be asked for after a 10 minute wait for our waiter, mind you the table behind us got theirs poured immediately and had drinks from the bar before we saw our waiter. Our waiter was passable but reading off his speciality list and looking around the dining room while presenting it to us. Lukewarm on him for the entire service. The good news is that the coupon allowed any choices off the menu, which is generous, but that being said, the prices here are quite high and more than the food is worth. I will give them an A+ for presentation. Here’s my opinion on the food– calamari special, tender but completely bland and under seasoned even with a faint taste of the fryer, my arancini(which I ordered before and mistakenly ordered again) was actually better than the first time but not up to the complimentary reviews it gets– just nothing special. I ordered the crab stuffed sole which was tasty and a nice portion but honestly after I got home I was dying of thirst so it was over salted. My husband had the filet and it was cooked to his specifications and good but he also reported over seasoning. So we each ordered a second glass of house wine which we found out on our bill are $ 10!!! Yikes that’s outrageous even in the bar mark up game. All told, our coupon wasn’t all that great a deal. And oh the table I had requested, not seated until an hour after we arrived… Here’s my synopsis : Overpriced Service borders on slow, they aren’t turning tables so I wonder how that affects business in a small restaurant with limited seating No water? Not good and drink orders? Shouldn’t that be the first thing the wait staff asks for? Wait staff so so, seem uninterested in the patrons and even unfriendly Ambience, loud background noise, tight seating Food, lacks complex, layered flavoring, under or over seasoned Patrons — 50 something crowd that are trying to appear hipster, it almost borders on comical to watch this crowd(and I am in that age group!) Our recent trip– a miss, we wouldn’t be returning for awhile. Too many good restaurants in the vicinity to try.

I had already read many of the great reviews and had been meaning to give this a try. I’m sure if you’re looking for a weekend you had better have a reservation. I like to visit restaurants on quieter evenings when I feel the kitchen and staff is less stressed and I find things usually are better and I’m not being rushed to turn over the table. Even on a Sunday this place was at about 80% full. When we arrived and saw all the cars I got concerned if we could be seated. Turned out fine with great service and most likely some of the best food available in Clifton Park. Everything was outstanding! I’m kicking myself as I was going to order the veal chop but didn’t and when I saw it arrive at the next table, it looked amazing ! THISIS A MUSTTRY!

We had a very good meal at Rocco’s. They’ve done a really nice job with the old Jonesville Store. The atmosphere was nice, but don’t expect quiet as the dining area and bar were in the same room and both were crowded. Definitely make reservations. The service was very good and the chef was willing to make substitutions for the non-meat eater in our party. It had a very good selection of craft beer and wine. The only negative was that the sauce was perhaps a bit over-salted, which is more a matter of personal taste. We will definitely be returning.

I enjoyed a memorable meal in a warm, welcoming neighborhood restaurant so much that even weeks later I’m remembering their lobster mac n’ cheese with longing. Good service, friendly and upscale and very comfortable. These folks are promising seasonal/changing menus. Let’s hope they also look to local sourcing and promote sustainable practices as best they can. Good job! Very exciting. Others think so too so make a reservation.

Excellent! We called ahead and made a reservation for 2 since it was a Saturday night. it was quite busy when we arrived, but we were shown right to our table– right in the middle of the packed dining room. I noticed an empty table for 2 right by the window and quickly requested to sit there instead. The host said no problem and I am SO happy she did. This was one of the best parts of our meal. I definitely would have felt a little uncomfortable sitting at the first table considering how cramped the space was between tables and bar area. Our server was Peter and he did a great job. We had oysters, mussels, and the mozzarella appetizer– all of which were very delicious. Then we split the Rack of Lamb and it was all cooked perfectly, the goat cheese bread pudding was YUMMMMY. Husband had the crème brûlée and finished every bite. All food was served hot and fresh. We finished every bite. What I would like to see: specials! The menu is quite small(maybe since they just opened?) and for me only a few items interested me. I was surprised they didn’t really offer any daily specials. I also found the cocktail menu to be a little blah. We’ll definitely be back! I would highly recommend checking them out! I hate all the chains in our area and would love to see a new local restaurant thrive in our community.
