Plaza Linen Laundromat and Dry Cleaners

I love this place! I’ve (unfortunately, due to finances) been doing laundry at a laundromat for almost a year now, and this place is the one I keep coming back to. I did laundry here when I was in my late teens living in a little apartment with my first boyfriend, and then when I moved back to the area almost a decade later, I kept coming back!
I live in Troy now and I’d rather take my kid to my mother’s place outside of Clifton Park and bring my laundry here, than brave the scary places I’ve seen near my house. True story.
It’s clean, that’s the big thing. Clean, and staffed by a bunch of really friendly ladies. They’ll chat, they befriended my daughter, and they’re always happy to refund your money if the machines eat it (I had a machine eat $ 3.50 on me after hours when they weren’t there, so I left them a note and they called me the next day and said I could come pick it up anytime. So nice!)
There’s a really clean «lounge» area with vending machines, a cable TV, carpeting, a sofa, and an electrical outlet, if you brought your laptop to take advantage of the free WiFi they have available. There’s lots of room to spread out, plenty of folding tables, and lots of washers and dryers in varying sizes.
You’re usually one of the only few people there, and often alone, which is great if you have a four year old with a newly acquired super-​bounce bouncy ball.
A few doors down in the same plaza is Venezia Pizza & Pasta, a Clifton Park mainstay, so go get yourself some good NY style pizza while you’re hanging around. It’s also just a parking lot away from Price Chopper and K-​Mart, so if you’re out of detergent, it’s not the end of the world!
The only poor things I have to say about this place, and I totally just ignore them, is that there’s a sour smell to the washers, but it doesn’t translate to your clothing, and the bathroom is sketchy as hell. I don’t like going in there. Pee before you leave the house, guys. Or while you’re over at Venezia’s getting dinner.
