So if you’re looking for an apartment in Clifton Park, you’ve probably realized by now that almost all of the apartment complexes are owned by Solomon Organization. London Square is no exception. I hear people complain about them, but I had an enjoyable experience living at this location. The biggest problem I hear about is about finances. This is the only thing I would complain about. They charge extra fees for using the pool, for pets, and for using a garage. On the other hand, there are very few places that include all those things gratis. Part of the security deposit is nonrefundable, and is used to clean the apartment and paint the walls after you move out. Not really a security deposit then, is it? Just call it a fee and move on. I guess the upside is that the apartment is spotless when you move in. The grounds were always kept very clean. They supply little bags to pick up your dog’s «presents.» There’s a small athletic area that has two treadmills, a stationary bike, an elliptical, a lifting machine, and some free weights, enough for the average person to get a good workout. London Square is located right next to Shenendehowa Central Schools, and you’re able to use their track as well. Our apartment had a few problems with hot water and plumbing throughout the year we were there, but they were fairly quick to respond. They always ask permission to enter your apartment to fix something if you’re not home. The maintenance crew can be kind of gruff, but they get the job done. There are a ton of children living here(probably because it’s so close to Shen). They have free reign of the grounds, so you have to be careful when driving through the area. Some of those kids will walk right in front of your car. If you’re looking to live in a place where it’s always quiet in the late afternoon/weeeknds, this is not the place for you. The kids are always out and about yelling and playing. I didn’t mind it, but some people might. I liked my experience here, but I know not everybody does. I believe it’s one of the less expensive places to live in Clifton Park, so it would probably be worth visiting if you’re scoping out an apartment. If you call or visit the office, ask for Linda. She was an absolutely wonderful person to work with. She’s very professional and quick to respond.
