DONOT trust this business; they’re thieves. I purchased training sessions and after just one session my back went into chaos. I had two doctors write notes telling me NOT to use their services, and they refused to refund me my money. They also do not know what they are doing, and boast that they work with Ortho NY however Ortho NY never heard of them when I inquired.

This is a terrible terrible gym with extremely poor customer service. The owner is quite rude. I would advice everyone not to go there. Plus their equipment is so old it is a joke!

Had to sign a 4 month contract to join and have a trainer 3 times a week. Contract was for over $ 400 a month! They immediately switched my trainer and type of training agreed upon after starting membership. Always rushed my half hour and also frequently changed my time slot. Weighed me once in 4 months. Didn’t go over a meal plan. Nothing. Boring routines. Walking back and forth with a kettlebell or up and down stairs. Made me feel like I was a complete waste of their time. Had they helped me get even half way to my desired fitness level, I probably would have been foolish enough to keep spending the ridiculous fees. For over $ 400 a month, I expect to be treated like a paying customer. They didn’t even do that! NOT even close to worth the money you will pay!

This is my favorite gym, and it’s unfortunate that I no longer live in Clifton Park to go to it(but I still make sure to go when I’m home visiting family). First off, the owner, Steve, is an exceptionally friendly guy and is always more than happy to talk and say hi to you, which definitely gives Healthplex a fantastic community atmosphere(which is a nice difference from chain gyms). In addition, all of the trainers, front desk staff, etc that I’ve interacted with have always been extremely nice. The gym itself is very large with plenty of equipment. Most of the weight machines and equipment are on the older side, but they are well-maintained and still get the job done. There is a decent amount of cardio equipment between treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes. Unfortunately, their TV’s are old CRTs and are definitely in need of an upgrade for people who like to spend a lot of time on the cardio equipment while watching TV. If you forget your headphones, the music that they have playing is decent workout music, and is mostly a mix of pop and EDM-style. It’s never too crowded at the gym, giving you ample use of all of the equipment. There have only been occasional times that a machine or bench that I wanted to use was in use and I had to find a different workout for a few minutes. Furthermore, there are rarely, if ever, any annoying«bros» at the gym(you know the types of guys that I’m talking about), which is nice! They recently got a large green«structure» for doing nice whole-body workouts, and it’s fun to use for some high intensity, boot-camp style workouts. I’ve participated in one boot-camp class at Healthplex(their Butterball workout on Thanksgiving in 2013, which was open to anyone with all proceeds going to Wounded Warriors), and the trainers did a great job keeping everyone of various fitness levels moving in intense workouts. If I lived in the area still, I would definitely look into going to more of their boot-camp classes.

Great fitness club in a convenient location. Plenty of cardio equipment and free weights to meet the demand of the clientele. This isn’t a muscle-head gym rat kind of gym, nor will you find it full of big-haired spandex wearing hotties. Real people of all ages, shapes and sizes come here to workout and the environment is comfortable.
