Went once, won’t go back. We waited over 45 minutes for our food after ordering. When we got it, it was nothing special. The bacon was undercooked and the sausage was overcooked. The toast was barely warm bread and not toasted at all. The table next to us sat down 20 minutes after we ordered but got their food well before we did. Maybe we were lucky after all, they ate a little bit of it, paid, and left leaving almost all their food uneaten. I asked the waitress why it took so long for our food and she told me it was because it was so crowded. Honestly there wasn’t more than a dozen people there at any time but she seemed completely frazzled. Not worth the time spent.

These reviewers must all be the owners friends. I have only eaten breakfast there but that’s enough to convince me I would not eat any other meals there. Because I have a friend who lives in the area I have eaten breakfast there on at least 3 occasions. No matter how you order your eggs either over easy, or over medium, they all come out the same. They’re cooked on such a high heat that the edges are frizzled and crispy and the yolk is probably going to be a very hard medium. The home made goetta is supposed to be so special, it is not nearly as a good as Gleiers which you can buy at Krogers. If there are more then 5 people in the restaurant expect slow service. Enough said!

Delicious burgers with an adorable atmosphere! Really fantastic prices, seems like a diner out of the 60’s– Great lunch spot, but it’s cash only so make sure you have cash on hand.

A fine breakfast returning from the airport at dawn: goetta and eggs, and a good chat with the chef and the Council of Elders gathered there. Learned about the secret goetta menu, which includes jalapeño goetta. I shall return!

Alex L. and I made the trek out to Doris and Sonny’s after hearing that it had won Cincinnati Magazine’s Burger Madness, topping Cincinnati institutions like Terry’s Turf Club, Arthur’s, Zip’s, Gordo’s, Oakley Pub and Grill, etc. The burger was pretty good, consisting of a standard burger, American cheese, and goetta with buffalo sauce. Onion rings were large and crispy. The service was friendly and quick. In terms of ambiance, it definitely has a small town feel. It reminds me of small establishments that I’d come across while taking on the road for backpacking trips. All in all, the burger was above average, but I don’t think it’s worth the 25 minute drive from Cincinnati.

Enjoyed a great business lunch here today. Fast friendly tasty service. Deluxe Cheese Burger with Fried Zucchini instead of French fries. Wish I would have been hungrier they had some great specialty burgers today. Thanks to Mike and Larry of the Hamilton County SPCA for introducing me to Doris and Sonnys.

The service is great. Laid back and friendly. The décor is Americana. I feel as if I am somewhere in the country and not just right outside the 275 beltway. The food was good. I have tried different flavors of goetta. I had no idea there were flavors till I walked in. But then I tried the buffalo, the jalapeño, and original. I liked them all. I have had the BBQ for lunch. Not bad but do notcompare to Elis or Walts. I want to try their burgers since they have been rated in the top 40 for the nati.

If you can get here during open hours, it is one of the finest diners around! Here they cook their goetta with pride in all different ways asking if you’d like it crispy, medium or soft. Yes they know goetta and how to cook a poached egg. Breakfast is always so reliably delicious, I haven’t even been able to venture through the menu offerings to try the barbque, onion rings or pie… all of which I have been told are, excellent. Can’t get much more Home Like than this. The cow knick knacks take to me the country like I’ve never quite been before, and I like it. They do take goetta to another level offering spicy, cheddar, jalapeño and buffalo to name a few. Their original is delicious, by my picky goetta standards. Ask about goettalife, and you too will see they take their goetta to another level. Yes, and I’ll be back again soon!
