This is The Tanning Company in the Walmart shopping center parking lot in South Cleveland. The 1980’s called… they want their nasty«Mom & Pop» shop back. The receptionist was argumentative when I said that I wanted to hear about their beds and prices BEFORE I gave her my information. She reluctantly walked me back to show me the outdated level three bed and I only agreed because I was in a hurry to get my tan on. When I asked her how often the bulbs were changed, she said about twice a year.(News flash: hours used should dictate bulb change, not the calendar.) The girl insisted that I only gave her $ 9, when I knew I handed her 10 singles to cover the tax for the $ 9 session. Whatever. I chose to keep my shoes on while preparing and I dared not to touch the filthy walls. Old modeling-style posters tacked on the ugly walls barely hung on and with a closer look, I noticed dirt and hair on the bulbs under the acrylic shield. The towels were nothing more than old faded rags with tattered edges that I would NEVER put over my face. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough and the girl was happy to ignore me when I left. Her boyfriend that was hanging out actually said goodbye to me. After all of that, I didn’t even get one shade of color and the whole experience was a complete waste of time. I should have just thrown a ten dollar bill inside the door and kept walking… what a rip-off. Yuck!
