why go to a con artist when you can go to the ohio city bike co op and help a non profit and learn about bike safety, or get superb service at joy machines cycles, or shop a warehouse at fridrich’s with a bunch of services. There are many local bike shops that have better service and selection than this clown. If you want someone to disrespect you, talk down to you, and possibly ruin your bike, go to shaker cycle and deal with Mitch. I did, once. I also bought a helmet from this shop, but I would not recommend and you couldn’t pay me to go back to that location.

Mitch watches out for the neighborhood. Whether it’s the tire pressure in kids’ bike tires or finding work for neighborhood yard workers or chatting with passers by — all while ostensibly working on your bike. His prices are reasonable. Bring cash. My old bike was recently stolen and I went to several bike shops that sell used and new bikes to look for a new one. Mitch understood how I like to ride and my lowish price preference for what I wanted. I ended up buying a bike he recommended from an online retailers and then paid to have him put it together while I watched and assisted a bit. The bike is in great shape and I learned plenty about nuances of bike construction. As well as all about corrupt Cleveland politicians. Mitch has a wacky sense of humor and wackier hair. A+

Mitch knows his bikes. He is thorough and really honest. Great place to get your bike fixed up or wheels trued or anything else for that matter. And he charges next to nothing!

Stopped in today for a tuneup and a new basket. Got to meet the owner, Mitch. He cleaned up my childhood bike and now it runs like new! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for bike work.

Mitch is definitely a weird dude. If you need a wheel trued, he is the man. My favorite part about Shaker Cycle are the people that hang out here. You are guaranteed a great conversation when you come through. Shaker Cycle is one of the few real places to hang out in Tremont without feeling like you are with yuppies in Avon Lake or Mentor. If you need some spare parts for a bicycle or a whole bike, come see Mitch. His maniacal laugh will bring a smile to your face. That is if he finds something that funny to laugh about.

The owner Mitch is eccentric but he knows his bikes. Located in an old building in Tremont(true Cleveland form), this place is full of bikes waiting to be rehabbed and bought. Mitch is really, really knowledgeable. He’s also fairly talkative, so be prepared to chat about many things under the sun. He referred me to a friend so that I could get my rare women’s terry bike. After I got it, I brought it back to him for inspection. He was really disappointed that I didn’t get a bike with Japanese steel from the 80s(apparently, it is THE best according to him) but he helped to tweak my bike and get it set up for me. Hooray. Everyone, go to this place!
