Oh, I really like this food truck. It’s a brunch-inspired food truck, which means… that they use flatbreads and waffles as their vessels rather than subs. You can really have it anytime. I’ve tried their cuban and their chicken bacon club. The Cuban is probably their most popular item — it’s pulled pork(which was amazing!), ham(which was okay), cheese, mustard, and garlic, on flatbread. The chicken bacon club is pulled chicken, bacon, ham, cheese, lettuce and tomato, on flatbread. Both of them had very good mixes of flavors overall and I enjoyed the flatbread concept. I’ll be back to this one.

On a recent visit to Food Truck Monday at Legacy Village, I tried a Cuban Flatbread from Off the GRIDdle food truck. The flat bread was grilled, crispy, and pretty tasty. It didn’t hold together well when eating it, so it fell apart and I had sauce all over my hands. The Cuban was pretty tasty, but the ham lacked flavor. There are so many other food truck options in the area, so I’ll probably skip this one next time, unless they offer other menu options.

I’m not a huge fan of food trucks despite the fact that I hit them up whenever they’re available to me. Their unique menus reel me in. Cleveland’s food trucks in particular tend to follow a pattern: put some kind of meat(usually Korean BBQ) on some kind of carb(usually a flour tortilla), and throw all kinds of toppings on it(usually some kind of slaw, aioli, spicy mayo, and tots). All these things sound good, but the end result almost always disappoints. Enter OTG. Their menu consists of waffle and naan sandwiches. No Korean BBQ? They already won me over. I love KBBQ, but whatever those other food trucks are serving up is not KBBQ. I got the«Acapulco Pulled», which is adobo-rubbed chicken, black bean and corn salsa, and avocado-lime sauce on a buttery naan. This was really good, and very filling too. So good that I ended up getting a «Strawberry Banana Almondine» also, which is strawberries, banana purée, and almond slices on a waffle. This was not so good. The toppings were straightforward, but the waffle was not very good. It was just soft, mushy, flavorless dough in the shape of a waffle. Overall I was pretty satisfied and would probably go again. I’d steer clear of the waffles though.
