So we were poking around this little trading spot and this was the second place we stopped. I am so glad we did. The folks here are really really nice and happy to tell you about their wares. They are a couple and both are Native American. They make a lot of the art and jewelry in the place as well as bring in some nice pieces from tribes in the southwest US. They had neat knives and spears and such, beads, different wall hanging items, and jewelry. I was struck by how good their prices were on some of their pieces. It seems that the husband, I think his name is Pete, makes some of it. He can then charge less for his pieces than he could if maybe it was Hopi or Navajo made. I really liked his pieces and bought a nice fetish necklace. I’m so proud of it. He told us about some of the other items he is planning on making and I think we will go back to see them and maybe get them for presents. Christmas will eventually roll back around. :-) Like all of the stores in The Trading Place Flea Market, NDN ways is only open on Saturday and Sunday.
