As much as this place can piss me off. The cashiers are cool. They band the fruit so it doesn’t go flying everywhere. Sweeties!

I have shopped at this location before and have NEVER had an experience like this during the day. I made the mistake of going in the evening and it’s like a completely different store! It’s usually clean and well kept, with helpful employees, but not this time. I managed to find everything I needed and made it to the checkout with about ¾ of a card full of food, some of it short-dated meat with various coupons on them ranging in value from $ 2-$ 4, this is important later. My cashier took his time ringing me up. It took nearly 15 minutes for everything to be scanned through and bagged(even though I was bagging as quickly as he scanned). We got to the end and decided to manually enter in my meat coupons instead of scanning them, when I asked him about it he said it was«too much work» to scan them. So, I pay, get my change and start to walk out. Only then do I realize I was overcharged. So I go to «customer service». What a joke. First, she tells me I bought TOOMANY items to get the sale price. 7up 2-liters were 6/$ 5, but apparently the cashier is supposed to scan a coupon, which mine didn’t do, so I was charged more. The lady at customer service tells me that the sale is only for four, not for six, so I can’t get the sale. She then calls over the manager and stomps away, flipping her name tag over in the process(on purpose). The manager doesn’t apologize, but then scrutinizes my receipt and accuses me of fraud! Saying they don’t put such high value coupons on their meat. I told her to check, but she just shook her head and told the cashier to give me a refund and walked away. The cashier also refused to give me my receipt. I am furious. I do the bulk of my shopping here, but now I have to seriously reconsider because of the way I was treated.

I shop at Marc’s because I am price conscious when it comes to consumables. Now mind you I don’t JUST shop at Marc’s but it does get a fair chunk so I take the good with the bad… Still beats Walmart hands down LOVE the presentation of Giant Eagle… Aldi, every now and again… We’re all adults and purely capable of making our on decisions, right?

Right off the bat, be forewarned Marc’s only accepts the Discover card. So they have not progressed since they first opened. Really this is a major pain in the ass. The ATM steals something like $ 2.50 to give you your own money. The store is poorly laid out with too tight aisles. It’s dirty. The staff is about as oblivious as possible. Seriously I have never had one greet me or even smile. The cashiers obviously hate their jobs and I don’t blame them since they have long lines and have to bag everything too.

Now I know how animals feel when they are being led to slaughter. I imagine this is what it is like waiting in line for the gates of heaven only to be denied and sent to hell. That is Marc’s shopping experience in a nutshell.
