The last time I went there — and it WILL be the last — was about a month ago, give or take… The parking lot is about 1⁄3 full of some dealership’s autos. The remainder of the lot looks as though an artillery battle has been fought there. Inside was where the real problems started. I had to walk directly in front of one salesperson to get some attention, and I’m 5′ 10′ &200+ lbs! None of them were doing ANYTHING, except talking to one another — and there were lots of them! He directed me to the Customer Service(what a joke) counter, where I waited the better part of 5 minutes while one rep. helped someone else and the other had an extended personal conversation with a sales guy… When she finally DID decide to pursue her job, she looked up and, incredibly, motioned a fellow who’d just walked up over! I made a remark about being invisible and started to leave. At the door I found a ‘worker’ holding down a hand truck, as he’d been when I walked in over 10 min. earlier, and asked for the manager. His response: «I’m not the manager.» I pointed out to him that I knew that, and asked where he/she might be. He pointed at a fellow about 30 ft away. Once again I had to literally stand in front of him to get attention. I told him what had gone on, and he apologized but didn’t seem too concerned otherwise. The place has REALLY gone downhill, and I’ll not go back, even if they’re GIVING stuff away!

My mom had just gotten a new TV and stand. The sales people working there should tell the customer that on the TV Stand the assembly is required. I feel sort of cheated.

I’ve been avoiding hhgregg like the plague because I thought it would eventually go out of business. Well, it hasn’t gone out of business. In fact, they’re still opening new stores across the nation. Anyway, my wife demanded a new flat screen TV recently so ‘a shopping we will go’. I have been studying flat panels in my own time because I always like to see what’s new. We stopped at Sears and Best Buy first, and then we went to hhgregg across the street with low expectations. To our surprise, we found more than just a TV. We found a very knowledgeable salesman, a great TV, a great bluray player and a great warranty, all at a great price. Sears and Best Buy employees ignored us. Once I realized the salesman could give and take on the price of the merchandise, my used car buying experience kicked in. I realized he wanted to make a sale really bad. Plus, my cousin worked there, coincidentally, and she happened to be behind the customer service counter when we stopped in. We ended up getting a good deal. By using my persuasive skills, I was able to talk $ 180 off the price of the TV because I bought a five-year warranty and a blu-ray player. You can’t talk down the price of merchandise at other retailers around here. I was a skeptic of hhgregg at first, but now I’m a fan because I know I can always get a great deal here. It turns out that the extended warranty on the TV is actually protected by a third-party insurance company, so if hhgregg does go down, I am still covered. I like a good deal and I feel like I got one yesterday.
