A Taste Of Memphis

The food was good, was it the best I’ve had no, but it also wasn’t mediocre. My fave was the caramel cake! It was a huge slice and the caramel was smooth and creamy. So onto the main dish. The macaroni had a nice flavor but from the look I could tell it had been sitting all day and which made it dry and just a little old looking.
The greens had smoked turkey and the flavor was really good! The yams weren’t bad, but need to be soaked in more juice, yet again just a little dry. Unexpected more from the chicken but it was fried in a batter which I didn’t expect. I more so wanted floured wings, but nevertheless they were OK. Although they weren’t made to order which was a downside and I could tell they had just been kept in a oven to be warm. The sauce was really good. I had them put it on the side just in case I didn’t like it, but I did enjoy it.
The service was wonderful and the ladies were. Very friendly and welcoming the minute i walked through the door, which was nice because most soul food restaurants don’t offer the best customer service… Overall the meal was decent… will it be my run to soul food restaurant no, but I wouldn’t be against going again, I just would just make some requests.

Excellent service, personable staff, generous meals, always freshly made. Love their work chops, greens, and my favorite … macaroni and cheese. To top it off, don’t leave without their caramel cake.
