When I was growing up, I frequented a library close to my home. I was always dismayed that the limit was 10 items. When I moved back to the area, I got a card for this library. I asked what the limit was. Though I don’t remember the exact number, it’s something outrageous — 70, maybe? I was like, «70… items?!» I’ve been here a few times now, and one of my only complaints is that sometimes there are some loud teenagers there hanging out after school. Pretty sure I’ve heard some expletives shouted here, which is not really what I think of when I consider a library. It’s also pretty small, but you might be surprised by what they have. Despite its size, I could definitely spend the day here looking at their selection — and I have, on a couple of occasions. I wish the organization were a little more obvious, but I still manage to find what I’m looking for. The staff has generally been helpful and friendly. I always try to bring my own bags, because otherwise you’ll have to borrow one of their plastic bags from the return. Worth a visit, in my opinion!

Did you know that Cleveland public libraries are rated #1 in the nation? True! I had heard of this but came face to face with the reality of it when I no longer live in Cleveland. I went to the local Los Angeles library and found a small audio visual section, minimal community activities at the branch and 2 computers. This small Coventry library puts my LA branch to shame and it is ¼ the size. Size matters? I would go here to rent, oops I mean ‘check out’, movies books on tape, movie soundtracks, foreign language tapes. Not only that, they even had monthly sign group lessons by the deaf community. My sign got a lot better as a result of attending these classes/meetings. If you still live in Cleveland take advantage of the libraries! They are awesome!!! This one is adjacent to the Coventry Mecca and thus you may balance your book worm side with the cooler side of you.
