Sat in an empty dining room for 15 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us or take our order. Scratch that. They didn’t even have to «take our order,» they just had to hand us two bowls for a buffet. That’s it. I’d totally accept the amount of time we had wait if it was busy, but there was maybe 2 other groups in the entire restaurant.

About a month ago I visited B&D’s in Coventry. Having been to the location in Columbus, OH I already knew to expect awesome food, a good atmosphere, and to not leave hungry. It was Saturday night and it was PACKED! The host gave us an accurate time of how long we should expect to wait, and my party was totally okay with it. Once we were seated our waiter got us started with drinks and let us know how to get the best dish using the menu cards available which was very helpful. Although it took a by longer than I had hoped to get a refill as well as desert, the dinner was what I expected. The reason this experience is getting only two stars is because of what I spotted on my way out of the restroom. On the wall close to the grill, where everyone’s food is being prepared, a COCKROACH! I immediately informed the staff and multiple of them just stood there staring at it. My stomach is turning again just thinking about it. I will return to B&D’s, but NOT to this location.

This place is awesome! It is slightly pricey so my advice is fill your bowl to the max, because going a second time is 3 additional dollars, and if you go a second time and want to take left overs home its an additional 3 on top of the 3. SO that being said go once fill it to the max and take left overs home all for 1 price. The only thing I don’t like about this place is cross contamination. I dont have any allergies, so I had nothing to worry about. But I can see someone with allergies having serious issues here. The restaurant is huge and clean, the staff is friendly and joyful. I had a lot of fun here, I defiantly recommend this place.

I feel like this place has gone downhill over the years. The salad bar was pathetic and dirty. I’m sorry guys but it’s true.

I have been to this location a few times over the last 10 or so years. Always a 15 – 25 minute wait time. I have to say the quality and selection of the food has gone down, while the prices have gone up. The concept is you take an empty bowl and load whatever food and sauces in it and some dudes cook it in front of you. But unless you’re one of those people who really likes to eat until you explode(or a college kid) it’s not really worth it… their one plate vs. unlimited plate option is only a few dollars more. The guys that cook the food are usually funny and very polite, but the«wait staff» are often cold, slow and seem like they don’t really want a job. So if you want to cram down mediocre food for an expensive buffet price with lousy wait staff just to see some dudes cook your food in front of you, this is the place!

what’s not to love? the meats and seafood are fresh. as are the veggies. the combinations of sauces and seasonings are endless. if you don’t like your meal you’ve only got yourself to blame. wait, i thought of one thing not to love. you’re probably going to eat too much and hate yourself later. if you don’t hate yourself, your colon will. still, it’s worth it. you must check it out.

This was my very first BD’s Mongolian Grill experience and it just may be my last… A friend and I were in Cleveland this weekend for the Browns game. We stayed near the Museums(which is kind of near the main Medical Centers) because we wanted easy access to them before the game. There were no restaurants close to the hotel so we took a shuttle to Coventry Rd. to eat… that’s when things started going downhill… We got to the restaurant, first thing I noticed was how dirty the floors were… gross. I never-minded it and we got seated. The first bowls they brought us out were filthy. We were both chipping pieces of dried food off of them. Being that it was my first time there and I really wanted to make my own stir-fry I shrugged it off and proceeded to make my food. When I got back to the table my friend had gone to the soup and salad bar… he said that it was disgusting, and then showed me a dirty spoon, soup bowl and plate… at that point we had both completely lost our appetites. I told the waiter about it, and he then sent the manager over to speak with us. They were very understanding and did not charge us for our meal. I was just very disappointed for having always heard about how great it was and how delicious the food is supposed to be.

The idea is so solid, how could it go wrong? If your foods crappy, you only have yourself to blame. One of my all time favs… throw what you like in a bowl, and fire, and do it all over again! And the deep fried Oreos are the real deal!

I’m a huge fan of BD’s. I used to go out there more often back in my college days, but still make it out a few times a year. Basically you get an empty bowl and walk down a buffet of fresh ingredients. The selection of meats, veggies, sauces, and spices is awesome. You pile it all into a bowl and then take it to the grill where the chefs cook everything up on the spot. You can pretty much make whatever you want and then go back and make something totally different on your next trip. Spicy, sweet, seafood, beef, vegan… it’s all there. Add the rice and tortillas and I’m not sure how you can go wrong. The chefs used to really put on a show, but it’s pretty boring these days. Coventry is a super hip little town to hang out in as well.

The food at bd’s tonight was good. The service though was really subpar. That’s pretty hard to accomplish when it really only involves bringing and clearing plates and drinks. I’m not sure if it’s because our table was in an out of the way corner or if they were understaffed, but our server was MIA a lot of the evening and when he was around he seemed like he didn’t want to be.

Be sure to join their birthday club so you get a nice coupon that week! My boyfriend and I went for my bday and it was an okay experience. The place has lots of toppings and meats even scallops which was nice to see! However the cooks burnt most of my plate which really put a damper on the whole experience.

Where do I start. The restaurant was filthy… sat us at a sticky table. We were moved to a better table but the place can use a good cleaning. The waiter was either overwhelmed or needs additional training. He was slow and forgetful. We had to wait for bowls, rice, tortillas… everything. The food and price was good for all you can eat stir fry. We would only consider or recommend if you needed a cheap kid friendly option.

This place is pretty good. And coming from a picky sometimes eater, getting to choose exactly what meat, veggies etc I want is always a plus!

I’ve always been interested in this place and was ultimately pretty disappointed by it. It’s a pretty confusing experience, if it’s your first time. So first of all, there’s no pre-determinded menu. You need to create anything and everything on your own. It’s kind of like cooking at home, but doing the difficult part on your own. How about you take this little bowl and try to pile as much crap in it as possible? And also make sure you understand how all of the raw ingredients will cook together on the skillet. The place is pretty dirty and sticky and the waitstaff was very unpleasant. The cooks are oddly demanding about exactly and only where you stand. And finally, it’s overpriced when it’s a glorified cafeteria. Not a fan.

I’ve been eating at this joint since it opened, but tonight’s experience left me unhappy and unsatisfied. First, this place is just straight up sticky and dirty. I didn’t want to touch anything! Seated punctually, but it took a waitress about 10 minutes to come to our table to take our drink order. She was very nice though. The beer selection is fairly limited, got a Blue Moon, but it was room temperature and tasted flat. Yuck! Did the customary, walk through the line to get your fixings, and it was dirty and sticky and they were completely out of the meat I wanted. Some of the veggies looked like they’d been sitting out for hours, wilted and dry appearing. The spice area was so messy, sticky and dirty, I wished someone would just wipe it up as they pass by it. The stir fry was cooked well and everything tasted alright. It’s just hard to have a good dining experience when you barely want to touch the menu or your table! The quality of this place has taken a dive, won’t be back for a while.

So I went there for my birthday and each and every time I have had an awesome experience. The staff here are really nice and the«boy grill band» are very attentive and they really know how to put on a show. They sung happy birthday to me twice. The food is always good because I make it and the fried Oreos are always my favorite. The waiter, I believe«Ant» was really nice he was the one with the locs he was really nice also. The only thing that I would say was a little off putting was the mess around the food and for a period of time they did run out of sauce cups. I came with a large party everyone loved it was well. I can’t wait to go back.

My visit this time around wasn’t as good as it has been in the past but I can’t deny that hearing a grown man sing Katty Perry’s «Roar» threw the bathroom walls is hilarious! And my sister & I really appreciated the men working the grill, they were very understanding of her vegetarian needs & my food allergies and did not fail to deliver great food and good customer service. They sang along with almost every song as well which added to the fun & experience of my visit. I just wish they offered more vegetarian/vegan/gluten– free options and that the location was handicapped accessible.

It was ok. Don’t think it was worth 12.59 for one bowl and a soda. Maybe it was my seafood choice? I might try it one more time with meats n see. But for now I’m ranking this as just OK for Mongolian BBQ

I took my grandma and my sister here on one glorious day after visiting the Columbus location, and I can say that we were not disappointed. Every customer receives a bowl and fills it as high as he or she can, then watches as the cooks cook the contents of their bowl on a stone grill. The cook even performs a juggling show with his cooking knives(or whatever they are). I found the variety of meats and veggies to be jaw-dropping. But that wasn’t even the most impressive part. There were far too many sauces and rubs to try at once. The restaurant even provides a list of sauce combinations that could be used to «enhance» the flavor of the meats and veggies as they are being cooked. I do not like Chinese food — the Mongolian BBQ is a bit of a misnomer, as this is neither BBQ nor of Mongolian origin — but this was my favorite meal this past month.
