Always super awesome! Definitely go for the chili verde super burrito. On a side note, the waiters hair was On Point tonight!

Probably my favorite restaurant ever. I used to live in Clemson, but I moved to Florida about 4 years ago. Even visiting home in Abbeville, SC, I’m still an hour from Super Taco, but I make the drive. Last time it had been over a year since I’d made it in, and when I tasted the food I was blown away as even I had forgotten just HOW good it is. When I lived there I was a regular customer, they knew my name and my usual order. Since living in Florida, I’ve even run into people that have said«You’re from Clemson? That means you got to eat Super Taco like every day!??». This place is legendary, and that seems to be the consensus among everyone I know who’s been there. They were obviously popular enough to move out of their small strip-mall location and into their own large standalone restaurant. Honestly, unless your tastebuds have been destroyed by Americanized Mexican food from Taco Bell, or the millions of identical places with different names that have to tell you ‘hot plate’ each time because every meal is frozen food through an oven on the plate, I don’t see how you couldn’t love Super Taco. By the way I highly recommend my favorite — a chicken torta with chips and salsa. I keep trying tortas elsewhere and am only met with disappointment. I’ve found good burritos in Florida, though still not Super Taco good, but haven’t found a torta that comes close in any way.

Meh for me. Went for lunch, large menu, no lunch menu. Ordered the super burrito with chicken. No complimentary chips and salsa, and the burrito didn’t come with any sides. The tortilla was fresh made, but no salt. The chicken was cooked well and seasoned, but it was about 60% pinto beans. Not even seasoned. Ton of bean juice, had to drain my burrito. There was some other stuff, but I just tasted beans. The price? $ 7.99. Not again.

This is my favorite restaurant in Clemson by far. It’s family-owned, and they make pretty much everything from scratch, including tortillas, chips, salsas, etc., from fresh ingredients. Their prices are also really good, but keep in mind that if you want tortilla chips, they’ll need to be ordered separately. If you decide to order chips, you’ll find that they’re worth every penny(and then some). I highly recommend adobada(marinated steak) for the choice of meat – it’s insanely good. My go-to order is a super burrito with adobada /add cilantro, and an order of chips+queso. The only downside to Super Taco is that they are closed on Sunday(when is invariably when I crave it most, of course). This ain’t your average Mexican restaurant, and that’s for sure a good thing.

Dirty. Horrible Food. I tried the guacamole, a flavorless bowl of mush that not even a half a salt shaker could fix. Then I had the«house specialty» alhambres. A dried corn Frisbee covered in pork chunks and about half an onion and about a handful of cilantro. It was easily the worst mexican food I’ve ever had.

Super Taco is one of the best Tex-Mex places I have been to in South Carolina. I find myself always coming back here. The wait staff is great, its a family owned restaurant with and everything is made fresh in the kitchen. The prices are great too, a lunch will be less then $ 10. First, I must say they have some of the best chips and salsa I’ve had. Their chips are homemade, and you can really tell. All their dips are great, the queso, salsa and guacamole are amazing, you can’t go wrong with any of these. Their signature dish is the Super Burrito, which is your choice of meat, beans cheese, salsa and avocado. The tortillas are made from scratch, nothing is store bought. The tortilla taste great, I usually get the Pollo Picoso, which is a marinated chicken that is more on the spicy side. It’s very moist and flavorful and is my favorite meat at Super Taco. It’s not on the list of meats but if you ask for it they’ll know what your talking about. The El Dorado, which is a deep fried burrito, is pretty amazing and I’d recommend it. My favorite dish is the Flour Enchilada with the Pollo Picoso. It’s cooked just right and it is filled with cheese and salsa. Also their Tortas are very good, it’s just a sandwich on toasted french bread and you can get it however you want it. The Fajitas are also very flavorful, I love their steak fajita which always comes out steaming hot. It comes with one of their handmade flour tortillas. The vegetables are cooked just right. They have fresh juices, and it changes from time to time but they have a guava which is really amazing. Horchata, which is a milk based drink with rice, vanilla, cinnamon and sugar is really good That was the first time I had it and I was really impressed with it. It’s like a rice pudding but in a drink. You definitely can’t go wrong with anything at Super Taco, I would definitely recommend it to anyone I know. It’s cheap, homemade flavorful Tex-Mex restaurant and it’s a must have if you live in or near Clemson.

Super taco is probably the best Mexican restaurant in Clemson. Their food is fresh, authentic, and very reasonably priced. They don’t serve alcohol but if you ask the waiters, it’s byob. At most Mexican restaurants the chips are just filler until your meal comes, but here, the chips are one of the best parts– not to mention the free salsa bar and selection of hot sauces. The spinach quesadilla and the veggie burrito are particularly good.

Not sure if other diners hit an off night, but we were very pleased with the quality(and the price) at Super Taco. Guacamole very tasty and served with a light crispy chip, maybe half wheat and half corn flour? Fish tacos came with three doubled up soft corn tortillas and three good size pieces of tilapia, excellent homemade lime/cabbage slaw on the side. Pork tamales with both red and green sauces very good, not too much masa to meat ratio. A la carte tacos made to order, large and flavorful. We’ll definitely be back! BTW, we ate outside. Inside décor leaves something to be desired and no liquor license. We found out later you can BYOB.

Awful. Only redeeming quality was the availability of horchata and the chips n salsa. The burrito I had was so un authentic it was shocking; even worse than array of bad Mexican I have already had in Clemson. Also I am still hungry.

Great authentic food. No frills but none needed. Those looking for gratis appetizer nachos, beer, etc should go to a Tex-Mex restaurant, not a mexican place like this.

It was priced good — but the food itself didn’t have a lot of flavor. I know people said its authentic. Well — it strives to be authentic but when I had lunch there I was very underwhelmed. The flavors didn’t come through, the food was good, but not great by any means, and I have had better. We didn’t get the greatest service and waiting for drinks, and they weren’t even that busy. The condition of the place and the décor also left some to be desired. probably won’t be back

Best authentic Mexican food in Clemson or from my experience the state. Homemade tortillas, fresh made chips, hand cut pico, amazing churros, the works. Place has it all, especially now that it’s in a bigger location. Most the other reviewers make their apparent lack of taste buds or knowledge of authentic Mexican food known easily. Shocked this isn’t higher rated, but I guess most people prefer from a jar cheese dip and wholesale bags of chips at Monterey’s as opposed to hand made food.

Looking for some authentic Mexican food just like mom used to make? Well, not my mom, but definitely one of my friends’ mom. Growing up in Los Angles, I definitely had my fill of some really great authentic Mexican food. If you remember those tasty robust favors, and am looking for some place to help you with your reminiscent mood, check out Super Taco. Perhaps the best place to get authentic Mexican food in the Clemson area. I recommend the Alambres, a dense, crispy, pan fried corn«cake» topped with grilled onions, cheese, and your choice of meat. I chose the Adobada. It was so flavorful. My husband and I also ordered the fish tacos. They were pretty good. Juicy, flavorful tilapia served with a cabbage salad and limes. If you are more used to fish tacos with deep fried fish and a mayo based Baja sauce, this might throw you off a bit. My husband also got a couple of carnitas tacos and an order of quesadillas. He enjoyed both, but especially loved the carnitas tacos. Again, juicy and flavorful. The service was also very good, although I will say it took some time to get our order. But I’m not complaining because mom and grandma are literally in the kitchen making everything from scratch. The place was also not as I expected when we arrived. It seems that some renovations were done, and it is now a sit down restaurant. But the prices are still pretty reasonable. We paid a total of approximately $ 20 for our meal, which left us with happy filled bellies. With three generations(mom and grandma in the kitchen, and son at the front of the house) dishing out delicious food and great service, this place gets a solid four stars.

This is mostly a casual, student hangout with the atmosphere of a basement apartment. They do not serve alcohol. I ordered the chicken enchiladas. The quality and preparation of the chicken was terrible. Half of the pieces were dry, flavorless dark meat without seasoning. Disgusting. I ended up scraping out the chicken and just eating the shell of the tortillas and the rice and beans. No voy a volver.

The name says it all. Delicious tacos, salsas, and fresh homemade tortillas. My(Mexican) in-laws turned me on to this place, it’s easily the most authentic Mexican food restaurant for miles around. It’s funny to see people on here complaining about the burritos… who goes to a place called«Super Taco» and orders a burrito?! No wonder they aren’t any good, burritos aren’t even true Mexican food. If you want Taco Bell, for God’s sake, go to Taco Bell, pero para el autentico sabor Mexicano vaya al Super Taco! And stick with the tacos if you know what’s good for you: P… Do NOT expect hard shell tacos, piles of sour cream or any other tex-mex classics you might be used to!

Super taco is the best mexican food in the upstate. Homemade tortillas enough deserve all five stars. It’s offensive that someone on here is trying to compare this to Taco Bell or cookout. Backed hard, would recommend this place to anyone looking for takeout style mexican.

Heard rave reviews on here and around school. When we walked in, we received menus and were a little surprised by the prices. On here, most people are saying«cheap! cheap!» I’m sorry, but my idea of cheap is either cookout or taco bell where you are getting a boatload of food for under 5 dollars. This is definitely out of a college student’s budget(unless you’re the type of college student whose parents pay for everything and you drive a BMW). Anyway, so we decided on the burrito supreme with marinated beef($ 4.99) and meatless burrito($ 4.29) and opted out of getting the $ 5.59 super burrito or the super chips for $ 5.99($ 5.99 for nachos are you kidding me?). We also ended up ordering chips and salsa($ 1.99) since apparently it doesn’t already come with these. We stood anxiously and waited for our food to-go, praying it would either be the food from the Gods or a bounty of burritos for such a high price. Finally at home, we unwrapped our burritos and were not really impressed. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t like, knock your socks off either. The burritos were rather skinny, but still fairly long. The meatless burrito my boyfriend got also was supposed to have pico de gallo but I guess they forgot. I do have to say, the chips were great and if I went back that would be all I would get. It makes me disappointed I didn’t get the nachos but there is no way I’m paying $ 6 for nachos. Anyway, everything here is about 2 dollars over priced for the amount of food you’re getting. Sure they may make their own tortillas and chips, but if I wanted to spend almost six dollars on a burrito, I would go to Barberito’s in Anderson. Barberito’s has the huge, fat Moe’s-like burritos but with fresher and more delicious ingredients. Honestly, I’d just rather go to Taco Bell drop a 4 and end up with a ton of food. Overall, not really worth it.

Great food for the price and awesome customer service! As a customer and fan of Super Taco II(same owner, newer location) in Seneca, I was excited to try Super Taco I … the restaurant that started it all. The menus were identical … and with the same owner, one would expect the food to be virtually identical. But no, it was sadly not. Close. Similar, yes. But I’d rather go to Super Taco II for my Burrito Supreme with marinated chicken and rice. We ordered chips and salsa … and the usually über-yummy Burrito Supreme. Received a larger portion of chips than at Super Taco II but the chips here were not as good. Homemade, but they didn’t seem super fresh. The salsa made me a bit wary. It was the same salsa as II, but bubbly and with an off-taste, making me think it was old. After a few bites, I put the salsa to the side. I eagerly attacked the Burrito Supreme … but alas, it was merely, just ok. They used thigh meat, which I’m generally fine with, but the chicken wasn’t marinated long enough or perhaps not with a strong enough marinade. I could see and taste the dark bits of meat and it unsettled my stomach. This never happens with my burrito at Super Taco II where every bite is a delight. They also had green and red sauces in the refrigerator … but one of the sauces had a funny off-taste. Either way, no amount of sauce could trick my taste buds into liking the burrito. Needless to say, I only ate until my stomach was satisfied … but not to the point of being stuffed. I was over my burrito and gave it to my friend to finish. He loves both I &II. Personally, I prefer Super Taco II.

I’ve mentioned before that I’m from Texas and miss good Mexican food when I’m not there. We’ve been looking for good Mexican food in the Upstate and FINALLY found some authentic, DELICIOUS Mexican food! We three Texans agree this place is awesome and worth the 30 minute drive from Greenville! And the prices are CHEAP! Super Taco is in a shopping center and has spray painted murals on the wall, but the food more than makes up for any lack of atmosphere. The owners are from California and everything is homemade — the chips, salsas, tortillas, everything! They offer burritos and tacos with your choice of meat, in addition to taquitos, quesadillas, etc. I tried a burrito because the owner said they are the most popular item and I can see why! I ordered a simple bean, cheese and rice burrito and it was HUGE! Everyone in line who ordered while we were there ordered a super burrito, so it seems that is the thing to order. The burritos are $ 4 – 5 each, so for 3 burritos, chips and salsa, and a drink, our total was right at $ 15. For those of you in SC looking for REAL chile rellenos(not a dish of cheese with ground meat and slices of peppers that they serve around here, but the stuffed poblano kind), the owner told us they have real chile rellenos and green enchiladas on Fridays. Yay! We’re definitely going back on a Friday! They even have homemade drinks, too! I had never heard of rice water before, but LOVED it! It was a super sweet drink with vanilla and cinnamon. Yum! They also had a homemade jamaica drink that I’ll have to try on the next visit. I should warn you that they do not serve alcohol in case you get your hopes up to have a cerveza with the incredible food.
