Wow! Extremely friendly, and patient service. The woman I worked with didn’t seem bothered that I was indecisive. The serving portions were fantastic! I couldn’t even finish my food which is a rarity for me. The only downside to this particular Thai restraint was that the only chicken that was outstanding and you would not get sick of was the«Thai Chicken». The other meats were over seasoned or too sweet. I chose the fried rice option with my meal and I have had better, but it was good none the less. Would have given it a 3 star rating, but the customer service was done with a smile and I’m a sucker for good customer service.

This place is located in the food court at Countryside mall. They give you good amount of food for a good price. Food is decent and nice people are working. I liked the mango chicken and bourbon chicken. I don’t recommend their pat thai.

Connected with family who were shopping at Countryside mall. Time was short, so going off premises didn’t make sense. I’m not sure food court dining ever makes sense and I usually avoid it, but the offerings at Countryside are varied and I’ve had a few decent meals there(notably the teriyaki chicken at the Sarku teppanyaki grill). But I was in the mood for something different. I’d never considered Ruby Thai as an option, so thought I’d give it a go. Made sure I sampled all the meat options before ordering, and the only ones I liked were the spicy thai grilled chicken and the panang chicken. Ordered those with mixed Thai vegetables, and green beans. I found those two sides actually very good, and could have easily made a meal of them alone. The mixed vegetables included cabbage, broccoli, carrots and sweet red peppers, and the light sauce they were cooked in was quite good. Even better was every mixed vegetable bite was surprisingly crisp and crunchy and full of savory flavor, a real surprise for veggies that are served up out of warming pans. Same goes for the crisp/crunchy green beans which were bathed in a garlic sauce that had just the right amount of garlic flavor. I’ve had sides of vegetables at many other restaurants that didn’t match up to these two, and the fact there were nearly perfectly cooked and not overdone in the least was a pleasant surprise. They’d make a good choice for someone wanting a vegetarian option. The meat servings were mixed. The spicy thai grilled chicken got a thumbs up, and it came with a healthy dose of sauce that delivered some good heat and flavor. But while my sample of panang chicken was moist, the serving that landed on my plate was far too dry and overdone. Not sure why unless it was served up out of another part of the pan. The flavor was ok, but way behind the grilled chicken. Portions of everything were pretty abundant, and I couldn’t finish my meal. I wouldn’t lump my meal at Ruby Thai with much of anything I’ve ever tasted at a Thai restaurant. I’d call it Thai flavored, spiced or inspired. But compared to most other food court options I’ve ever had, it was pretty good, and the vegetables were excellent. And except for the dry/overdone panang chicken, it was enjoyable for food court food. Seems only fair to compare the meal on a food court scale instead of against regular restaurants, so I’d score it: Atmosphere and Service: N/A Food: 4 Value: 4

A decent food choice at Countryside Mall. I haven’t tried their scoop-me-up-into-a-styrofoam-plate food, because I tend to gravitate towards the unusual… especially among the degenerates of a mall food court. And come on, Ruby Thai Kitchen’s soup in big bowls is very different than the typical subs, orange chicken and rice, and mexican food there right? Although only three choices, the soup is very satisfying on cool days. It’s basically common broth on noodles with whatever topping you chose. Plain-sounding, but yummy and seemingly healthier than other food court options. Reminds me of a slightly-not-as-tasty Vietnamese phở… although adding squid to its seafood soup was dangerous looking and tasted too… um… squidy– even for my Asian tongue. I wanted to play with the little tentacles instead. Plus, it’s funny how the lady in front really badgers you to try the food. Or annoying.
