They have an authentic Chinese menu, you just have to ask for it. The green onion pancake was worth the drive from Tampa. It was crispy and salty. So good. I wasnt in love with the beef noodle soup. The noodles aren’t handmade like at Mei’s. But they give a generous amount of beef. The place looks like any crappy Chinese take out place, but it’s reasonably clean.

This is a mom and pop shop. It was my first time here and pineapple rice met all of my expectations and more! Their beef noodle soup was delicious and authentic. The broth was extremely flavorful! The old man with the beard who works here was as cute and nice as can be. I drove 15 minutes just to try this place and I will definitely be coming back! If you want authentic Asian food, come try pineapple rice! You won’t regret it!

Ask for the menu for the traditional Chinese dishes. Fantastic food and great service. This is great Chinese food you can not get at any Chinese fast food restaurants.

We saw the authentic Chinese menu and decided to try it — we were already at Clearwater and another 30 min drive is not that bad for authentic food… except… we didn’t get to eat any!!! The reason? The chef was so busy and started yelling«no no don’t have it, or too busy to make it» at the nice lady who took our order. We order beef noodle, 3 cup chicken, Hakka stir fried, steam buns… NOTHING. So we left and went across the street to Thai Spice… they were very good.

Horrible food and service. Owner said it would be done in 20 minutes for pick up. When we got there, we had to wait another 30 minutes to receive the food. They forgot one of our entrees and when we called to ask if they could deliver the one they forgot(but we still paid for!!!) they proceeded to argue with us and not refund or deliver correct order(after admitting they screwed up). Food we did receive, tasteless and overly salty. Very disorganized.

Hands down the worst restaurant I have ever been to. The service was incredibly slow and disorganized for food that was quite simply tasteless. When one of the staff gave us the wrong order they proceeded to argue with us that we were mistaken and did not offer to exchange the item. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

This is the first Chinese takeout that has actually been good. I got the beef with broccoli, orange chicken, and beef egg foo young. It was nice to actually eat some decent Chinese food. My only issue was with the egg foo young. The patties were small and had peas and carrots in them. Other than that, the gravy was delicious :) I will most definitely be ordering from here again

My experience with this establishment was awful. It took an hour for the food to be delivered, when it finally arrived the order was wrong. The food was subpar and basically inedible. Super disappointed !

China taste, pineapple kitchen… Either way WOW! Great authentic food. Non franchise Chinese food. I’ve always looked for the mom and pop restaurants. Well this is it if you like true Chinese food!

Yasssssss! Niuruo Mian(Beef Noodles) is their specialty. When we sat down at this restaurant, we were handed typical Chinese-American take-out style menu. Our faces sank, and we asked for the Chinese menu. The waitress seemed really surprised, but luckily let us order off of the special menu. I am having trouble understanding why a restaurant would not want to give customers the option to try all dishes. Did they have a bad experience? Was a customer like, «eeewwww this is gross?» I feel bad for customers that come here and are not given the option to order something good. Which appears to have happened to other Unilocalers, based on their reviews. Since I am really pushy to get what I want, most of the time, I was then pushy enough to demand the Chinese menu. The menu was slowly handed over… and we ordered Xiao Long Bao, Beef Noodle Soup, Three Cups Chicken, and Dan Dan Mein. The waitress that was there when we visited, informed us that it will be her last day because she is moving to Taiwan. It was really cool to see the blonde waitress speaking Chinese with the owner. While the XLB and Dan Dan left more to be desired, the Beef Noodle Soup and Three Cups Chicken rival some of the best Taiwanese restaurants I have been to. I could pick apart each dish, but I don’t think you want to read that much. Just do me a favor, ok? Visit this restaurant and demand the Chinese menu, order a bunch of food and«pooh and ahhh» about it. Then maybe, just maybe, the staff will be more likely to give everyone the chance to try the delicious Chinese menu.

China Taste(also called Pineapple Rice?) was fairly disappointing. If you’re searching via GPS, you have to type in Pineapple Rice because it has the correct McMullen Booth address, and there are several other«China Taste’s» throughout the area. I had a hardcore Chinese craving which needed sating, fast, and the Chinese restaurant I was planning on grabbing take-out from was closed on Monday. This was the only other four-star Chinese joint nearby. My order was ready to go when I arrived and the woman at the front desk was very friendly, and the smell from the tightly packaged take-out steaming in the passenger seat nearly made me pull over and eat it then and there. I made it home, forehead sweating and stomach rumbling, and cracked open the white take-out containers with the intensity of a jungle lizard clawing at a clutch of plastic eggs filled with Asiatic delights. I scooped Mongolian Beef, Chicken Lo Mein, and General Tso’s onto my plate in a fairly unceremonious heap of food, and dug in. Unfortunately, the quality of the food failed to live up to its delicious smell. The flavors weren’t awful, but the General Tso’s chicken, despite not having a ton of breading, was tough and dry. The sauce itself was fairly good, if not a little on the salty side. The Lo Mein was salty as well, drowned in soy sauce, and what little chicken it had were thin, rubbery strips. The Mongolian Beef was unexciting and not what I’ve come to expect from a Mongolian Beef dish. The Hot & Sour soup definitely tipped the scales towards the sour side, but it was pretty good. When my mom and I were finished eating we both kind of shrugged our shoulders and summoned the same, lackluster«ehhhhhhh.» It wasn’t terrible food, but it certainly wasn’t anything to write home about. Maybe the food got a little soggy on the drive back, maybe it was an off day. I heard they have a «secret» menu with some traditional Chinese/Taiwanese dishes, so I’d be willing to go back and try some other items fresh in the restaurant, but overall China Taste/Pineapple Rice(make up your minds, folks) left me feeling pretty let down. *Cue world’s smallest violin*

Seems like Chinese restaurants are hit and miss a lot of times. This place was a hit! We ordered for take-out and they said 15 – 20 minutes. It actually took a bit longer, but it was worth it. Restaurant was packed(always a good sign). We watched the chef slaving over the cook top and he told the cashier to throw in 2 egg rolls for the longer wait time. We ordered chicken lo mien, broccoli w. Garlic, and crab Rangoon. Delicious! Wish we had found this place earlier… Love it!

You may have heard of a secret menu at various restaurants such as In-N-Out, Chipotle, or Shake Shack. However, this is the one to try! We learned of this hidden rough cut gem via a local Unilocaler, Ming… Thanks! Tucked away in a strip mall, back to the left behind Publix, is a unassuming Chinese restaurant labeled China Taste. However, even the real name is secret! This place is actually called Pineapple Rice Bistro! Don’t tell anyone! Or, better yet, tell everyone so their business continues to boom! Now, let’s move on to the secret menu. If you know someone in the know, or perhaps you are Chinese, or if you just ask, you can obtain the secret Chinese menu. All authentic. All delicious. All with proper Chinese names but thankfully, also English translations. Now, just indulge! Mustard greens with garlic. Wow! Wontons in chili sauce! Zowie! Tofu vegetable soup! Wonderful! Spicy beef and ox tripe! Taste explosion! Most people call ahead and get their food to go. We ate inside, laughed, and relaxed because the service is a bit slow, due to the constantly ringing phone. It doesn’t matter. It was worth it. We look forward to returning again and again!

I’m not crazy for this place. I followed my nose in for lunch and grabbed a few items to go. I do think the lunch menu is a bargain so it’s definitely worth checking out if you want to each cheaply. It comes with egg fried rice and an egg roll(which was really tasty). Overall the food itself wasn’t impressive. I prefer a different Chinese take out down the street. The sesame chicken was average, I do like that you can tell that it’s real chicken meat. The bourbon chicken tasted more like peking duck for some reason. It could possible be because of that Chinese spice/hoisin flavor the chicken has. It’s not terrible but not the bourbon chicken I am used to. The hot & sour soup was really tasty! I think it’s my favorite out of the whole meal. It’s definitely sour and has a really nice kick to it. This is my second visit and unfortunately there was nothing to remember this place by. I see that there is a «secret Chinese» menu which I’d like to try. So maybe one day I’l visit again.

Fantastic local Chinese restaurant! Take out or eat in. They work hard to make you happy and look pleased when they hand over their food. Family run business. Delicious menu. Great prices. Definitely our go to Chinese restaurant near Safety Harbor. I really like the chicken with black bean sauce and the hubs gets their bourbon chicken meal. Their egg drop soup is great too.

ASK for Chinese menu if you want to eat authentic Chinese food! The Chinese menu has English translation, but they prefer you dine in if you want to order from the menu. Their beef noodle soup is the best! The elderly gentleman(96 years old) who serves food is very nice. We love him!

When not catering to the American concept of Chinese food, they can put out fantastic authentic Chinese cuisine. Ask for the Chinese menu. The hot and sour soup is fantastic, as is the 3 pepper chicken, among other things.

I’m not one to give an awful review, but my experience here was less than good. Garlic chicken, pork fried rice and pan fried dumplings. Chicken was rubbery and«sweaty.» Vegetables were tasteless, wilted and old. Pork in the rice looked old and tasted off and the dumplings were burnt. Egg roll tasted spoiled and greasy. I was really hoping that this place was going to be great based on the reviews. How they served that and let it leave their kitchen is beyond me. Serve me something with some pride please?

Peace has just been made between me and North Pinellas county. I have found the authentic Chinese restaurant here. Its name: Pineapple Rice Bistro. It located at Northwood plaza on N. McMullen Booth Road Clearwater, facing enterprise road. It still has China Taste sign, but it is actually called Pineapple Rice Bistro. People who doesn’t read Chinese thinks they are eating at China Taste. We Chinese order from different menu(descriptions are written in both Chinese and English) that offers much more authentic Chinese dishes. One restaurant, two world. How funny. This is my first visit. I ordered: 1. Beef Soup Noodle. This is a very popular Taiwanese dish. Its key ingredient, braised beef is made ahead of time because it takes a while get the flavor into. The rich soup base is fresh made beef stock. I believe the noodle is handmade as well. A large bowl full of beef and broth hit the spot for people looking for a quick, cheap, delicious lunch or dinner. 2. Spicy Beef and Ox Tripe: an authentic Sichuan dish piled with layers of abundant lean beef and tripe. The flavor of its spice is exactly what you get from China. It is a real thing. But if you are not fond of tripe, just order the spicy beef. Hope you can handle the heat. 3. Scallion pancake: This little devil speaks the truth. The authentic pancake dough is mixed with pork lard. After you pan fried it, the grease melt and blend well with the pancake. Taste great. 4. Stir fry water spinach is a dish without drama. It has clean taste. I am not sure it is for everyone. But I grow up eating green leaf vegetables, good source of fiber. There are so many things I wanted to try. Next time, I go for the soup dumplings(steam mini buns). The owner suggested not do take out this dish. It is best eat fresh at restaurant. They are busy on takeout and owner chef Li prepares all the food. His wife attend the table and cashier. If the service appears slower, just be a little of patient and enjoy their food. Support the local business.

I just ordered from here for lunch. It is not like your standard NY style Chinese takeaway. There are more authentic flavors, and frankly, its far better than I expected it to be. The General Tso’s chicken is crispy and flavorful, the boneless spareribs are not doused in a sticky sweet sauce but rather subtly sweet and tender. All around awesome, I will definitely order from here again!
