Visited Mellow Mushroom for lunch today. Such a cute restaurant! We ordered a large Holy Shiitake Pie which is apparently the house favorite. It has a garlic base, tons of mushrooms, caramelized onions, mozzarella and montamoré. The best part is the garlic aioli and black truffle oil drizzle. Now one of my top 10 favorite pizzas BUT the crust is to thick. I like topping not just bread. I would have given this pizza joint 5 stars but it is a bit pricy! $ 25 bucks for a large pizza with a little too much crust.

I was so disappointed that they have changed their menu. No muffalatta bread. No carribean pizza. 2 of our family’s favorite items. Not sure we woll go back.

Waitress was super friendly and prompt with service think her name was ally or Ashley ! My boyfriend and I got a pitcher of beer for a great price $ 12 and two medium pizzas! We had plenty of leftovers and we were stuffed to the brim for under $ 60. We both had specialty toppings and I LOVE the vegan options. The vegan cheese was deliciously creamy. I usually love thin pizza but this is an acception! We will definitely be back and recommending this spot to friends and family. Perfect for all ages. Casual dining servers wear shorts and tshirts. Bathrooms were neat and clean !

Mellow Mushroom is what you call unique. They call themselves a «pizza bakery». I would say this is correct! The dough they use is made from spring water and wow the difference is huge! I was never one to eat the crust of pizza pies, but it is difficult for me to not eat the crust at Mellow Mushroom. The pies are typically baked lightly, are fluffy and soft and just have an overall really nice flavor to them. This is not a typical pizzeria in that the pies are speciality pies. They have various creative creations ranging from a pie called«Mellowterranean» to «Red Potato skin» to «Meat lovers». They do have a few more typical pies like«bbq chicken» and«buffalo chicken» for example, but you can also just make your own pie and select your toppings. Mellow mushroom is really flexible with your orders as well. You can ask for half and half. We like to do this so that we can have variety without necessarily ordering two smaller pies which you can certainly do here as well. Some other items that are noteworthy are the«Magical Mushroom Soup». I was skeptical at first, but after trying this mysterious soup, I have to say it was magical. Creamy and delectable. They have wings with a variety of sauces. My personal favorite sauce being the sweet thai chili. You can also do half and half with your sauces. Pretzels. Wow. Just like their pizza dough. They have a few different kinds. And they recently are offering a new addition, pretzel bites. Yum! I don’t want to forget to mention the«Enlightened Spinach Salad». We have never been there without getting this item. It has candied pecans, dried cranberries, sliced apples and really really fresh spinach! Balsamic or some other creamy dressing to choose from. The inside of this place is so cool. Really interesting art work and other interesting items on the walls to look at. For a sports bar type place, this place really does a solid job with delivering bar food that is not only unique, but made with all natural ingredients. Heads up! You will probably have leftovers!

Eclectic and fun atmosphere. There is a huge tree outside and a lot people were taking pictures. The pizza was FABULOUS. We order the holy shiitake in a gluten free crust and the buffalo chicken pizza in their regular crust, both equally delicious. I love how generous they are with their toppings a lot of mushrooms and chicken in each, for people with gluten allergies or sensitivities or just people that enjoy gluten free foods, I highly recommend this crust, it was thin, buttery and crispy but not dry. Their regular crust it’s great I reminded me of a really good and warm pretzel. They used garlic aioli in the shiitake and a blue cheese one, on the buffalo chicken pizza, the aoli took the pizza to another level because it so rich and flavorful but not overpowering. I also tried their mushroom soup and I loved it, the mushrooms were so meaty and rich and lots of shaved parmesan on top.

Everything from slow service to absolutely unedible food. Waited for 25 minutes to get my pizza and then it was so limp with raw dough and it was unedible. The chicken was practically like an entire tenderloin on top of each slice and so was the bacon. I had to remove it and cut it myself.

Ate here on a business trip in Clearwater. Had the sausage sub, tomato soup and humus. Outstanding food. Last time I hit this place was 3 years ago in Pensacola FL. One of the most consistent experiences in informal dining I’ve ever had. The beer is always cold and they have plenty to chose from. Hats off to the hippies that started this place! God bless you! Love me some mellow mushroom.

I enjoyed my time at this Mellow Mushroom! I have been to a Mellow Mushroom before, but everything was better at this one. This place was very busy on a Saturday afternoon but we did not have to wait for a table. Once we were seated our waitress came out a few moments after and took our order. I ordered one of the houses specialty drinks(can’t remember the name) that was rum based, which was REALLYGOOD! I also placed an order for the house pretzel appetizers. The pretzels were very soft and tasted great! For main course we ordered a pizza– but of course. The pizza was very good as well! Our waitress was great and checked on us regularly. The only thing that I didn’t like was I asked the waitress could they make my second drink a little stronger and she came back with an extra shot for the drink — it was all good until I got hit with a $ 10 extra shot charge on bill; the shot was more than the cost of the drink. Other than that this Mellow Mushroom made an impression on me and I enjoyed my pie and pretzels from here.

Love the selection of pizzas, salads, calzones, beer, etc. They also offer Gluten Free — not many pizza places do. My favorite is the Holy Shiitake pie.

The food is very tasty and there are menu items you can’t get anywhere else. The staff is always very friendly and does their best. One of our favorite stops.

We’ve eaten at this location before and it was decent. Not as good as one of the others we have been to. This was the first time we ordered take out from this location. We ordered the white and the bottom is completely burnt. Completely lacks in any flavor but burnt pizza. Very disappointed.

I loved our server and the food. I ordered the redskin potato pie. Mmm! So good. My husband did a build your own calzone. For an appetizer we ordered Rosemary season potatoes with a side of beer cheese to dip in. Our server recommended. Very tasty. First time eating at a Mellow Mushroom. Will definitely return.

I was really disappointed in this location. Mellow Mushroom is usually the type of chain I can rely on whenever I want some good food and I don’t feel like searching for something new in the area. Every other MM I’ve been to(Delray, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Jacksonville) have all been great at creating a fun atmosphere and providing excellent food and service. This location is the exception to that rule. First of all, the restaurant looked really cheap and… odd. One of the other reviewers had it right when they said it looked like a warehouse made up to resemble a MM. The second thing is that the service was awful. Our waitress seemed like she couldn’t care less about serving us, and she was definitely more interested in talking to her friends at another table than helping us. At one point I saw her walking around holding someone’s baby, while my sister-in-law was waiting on her to bring her a fork to eat her salad with. She sat at the table for atleast 10 minutes, her salad in front of her, all the while we’re watching our server walk around the restaurant with this baby in her arms. And get this, the server NEVER came back with the fork! We had to flag down someone else’s server to get one! On top of all of that, the food wasn’t that good. Everything was bland and was served to us semi-cold. Very, very disappointing coming from a chain that usually offers excellent service and food!

Mellow Mushroom held a special place in my heart when I visited it for the first time in Pooler, GA. After finding out that it was a national chain, I was a little bit saddened, however, I still hoped that my experience in Pooler would be similar to when I visited the one in Clearwater. Usually, every MM has its own theme. The one in Pooler blew me away when I saw that it had a super-hero theme. It had huge 7 foot metal statues of all the big super-heroes. The one in Clearwater, has weird neon lamps and 80s rock star thing going on. Really? I was totally unimpressed. This sort of thing should be left for the Hard Rock Café. When it comes to food, it’s either you pay the exorbitant $ 25 for a medium pizza or get a burger and apps to fill you up. We opted for the burger as I think it’s a little snooty for a chain restaurant to ask $ 25 for pizza. You are not a gourmet organic locally-sourced restaurant so stop charging us like you are. The burger we ordered tasted okay but not memorable. We did enjoy the Bruschetta which had perfectly ripe tomatoes and a beautiful presentation of balsamic vinegar. This MM is neither close to Tampa nor the Gulf beaches. With all the effort that it takes to get there, the food is just okay and definitely not priced well.

This is a large Mellow Mushroom location and the food is true to a standard Mushroom franchise. The pizza is good and the options are literally endless. They even offer vegan cheese and gluten-free crusts which make it an easy meal option for all dietary needs. Mellow’s standard crust is so soft and chewy. They offer different sizes depending on your party(or hunger) and you can choose one of their standard pizza recipes, or build your own. The bar is stocked with a nice selection of craft beers on draft and they are all $ 2 off on happy hour. Service is typically slow, so be prepared to enjoy the evening and have a drink while you wait on your pie. Overall a great dining experience and especially nice for when my vegan date is craving pizza.

There’s nothing I don’t like about this place. The imaginative pizzas, the friendly dread-locked staff. I could go on and on. A lot of traditional pizza people might not get this place, but it’s unique, and I dig it! We love ordering a pie and getting it split into two crazy flavors. They also have gluten free options for my buddy and TONS of vegetarian items. Super accommodating! Go there expecting something different and you’ll leave happy!

Sorry to say, but I’m not a fan of mellow mushroom! I came here a while back but that visit only consisted of having drinks at the bar, so I didn’t want to review until I had returned for a meal. The only good thing I will say about MM is they have a great beer selection, between the Draft and bottle options, the choices are unlimited. However that’s about the only good thing. On my second visit here, I came with a group of coworkers at lunch time. We were sat at a large table to accommodate our group but the shape of the table made for an awkward layout and it was hard to converse with anyone without shouting. We all decided to order the personal sized pizza and the server said it would take 25 minutes. I understand it’s hard to make pizza quickly but being that it took so long it wouldn’t be realistic to come here on a 1 hour lunch break. I chose the thai dye pizza with tomatoes, onion, curry chicken, basil, cucumber and a sweet chili sauce. It was just okay, but the toppings were not chopped finely enough. The chicken was practically like an entire tenderloin on top of each slice and I had to remove it and cut it myself. Nobody else seemed to be overly impressed with their pizzas either. One of the guys in our group asked for a blue cheese to go with his pizza. The server took forever to bring it out. However, even though it took a long time to actually get the blue cheese, what she did do promptly was add it to the bill. The check had already been left on our table, but right away she took it back, re-rang it to add the .50 cent blue cheese and then brought it back, before even bringing the BC. Seems pretty ridiculous to charge 50 cents for something so minor on what was already a $ 100 tab. Finally we all had to rush and shove down our food so we could get back to work. I couldn’t eat all mine, so I asked for a box and hoped they wouldn’t charge for that too(kidding, just kidding!). I doubt any of us would be in a rush to come here again. Just a mediocre experience overall.

We are staying nearby and decided to venture out for some food instead of ordering delivery… thank god we did! Our server Tyler was awesome! Made some great recommendations! We started with the pretzel bites with the beer cheese dipping sauce… highly recommend the beer cheese… yummy! Then we had the Holy Shitaki Pizza… we didn’t want onions so Tyler recommended sun dried tomatoes instead… OMGHEAVEN! This was one of the absolute best pizzas we have ever had! Mellow Mushroom makes us want to come to Tampa again!

I was the DD for Sunday Funday at Clearwater Beach Uncorked 2015 and I needed to get my drunk friends some food on the way home. We left early to avoid the traffic cluster leaving the beach and decided on Mellow Mushroom. The more and more I visit Mellow Mushroom, the more and more I fall in love with it. I love the Clearwater location. The building is huge and wide open with windows versus their sister Citrus Park location, which is dark and enclosed. There is a beautifully lit bar with seven television screens to accommodate all sport fans. The light fixtures and the art throughout the restaurant is psychedelic goodness. There is also a patio, if you should choose to enjoy your meal outside. The parking lot has more than ample space for everyone. We had such a great experience from the beginning to the end of our time here. We all fell in love with our waiter Michael. Michael was everything you could want in a server. He was friendly, attentive, efficient, and he kept us laughing the whole entire time. I started with the Magic Mushroom Soup while we waited for our pizza. The soup was made of a wine and herb broth, with creamy Italian MontAmoré cheese, and then topped with grilled shiitake, button, and Portobello mushrooms and fresh chives. The soup was delicious and flavorful, but a little too creamy for me. My friend ordered the Holy Shiitake Pie, which Michael raved about. She loved it. This was her first time to Mellow Mushroom, so she definitely was won over. The rest of us shared a pepperoni and sausage pizza. Boring, I know, but still, oh so good. I don’t normally eat the crust on pizza, but I will at Mellow Mushroom. Their crust is buttery deliciousness! Without a doubt, ask for Michael. You will not regret it. He was so delightful to deal with, I even had his manager sent over so I could compliment her on what an asset Michael was to the restaurant.
